The Wild Grounds

Little Woodham, also known as "The Living History Village of Little Woodham" or "The Seventeenth Century Village", is a living museum dedicated to recreating life in a rural village in the mid-17th century. It is situated in ancient woodland in Rowner, on the Gosport peninsula, Hampshire.

West of the River Alver is an 11.6-hectare (29-acre) Local Nature Reserve in Gosport in Hampshire. It is owned and managed by Gosport Borough Council.This site on the west bank of the River Alver has a reedbed which is one of the largest in England, and which is maintained by annual cutting. There are also three ponds and areas of grassland, some of which are kept short by rabbit grazing. Seventeen species of butterfly have been recorded.

Gosport ( GOS-port) is a parliamentary constituency represented in the House of Commons of the UK Parliament since 2010 by Caroline Dinenage of the Conservative Party. The constituency is anchored by the town and borough of Gosport.

Cherque Farm is a residential development of 1063 homes situated on the South Coast of England in Lee-on-the-Solent, Hampshire. Persimmon Homes was the prime developer of the land, but other developers such as Charles Church, Bovis and Wimpey have built properties on the estate. Building work was completed in 2008. In 2014 another 13 houses were built which added to the original 1050. It is an area of some 100 acres (40 ha) adjoining the Alver Valley which makes up the rural gap between the town of Gosport and Lee-on-the-Solent and lies on the eastern side of Lee-on-the-Solent. A new access road, Cherque Way, forms its eastern boundary and provides links to the main road network with separate access to the site and all the adjoining facilities of this coastal location. A public community park and shops are also found on the estate. Persimmon Homes bought the site in Hampshire from Hall Aggregates (South Coast) Ltd and Cemex UK Properties Ltd in 1999 for £29.9m. The Cherque Farm site in Lee-On-The-Solent had been used for sand and gravel extraction and, later, for landfill. Some of the landfill waste gave rise to a problem with methane gas which Persimmon had to deal with as condition of building on the site.

Browndown Halt railway station served the town of Gosport, Hampshire, England from 1894 to 1930 on the Lee-on-the-Solent Railway.

Gosport and Fareham was a parliamentary constituency in Hampshire which returned one Member of Parliament (MP) to the House of Commons of the Parliament of the United Kingdom from 1950 until it was abolished for the February 1974 general election. It was then replaced by two new constituencies, Gosport and Fareham. The incumbent MP, Reginald Bennett, was re-elected in the new Fareham constituency.

Browndown is a 66.5-hectare (164-acre) biological Site of Special Scientific Interest in Gosport in Hampshire.This is a shingle beach owned by the Ministry of Defence, which has areas of heather, grass heath and gorse. There are a range of invertebrates specialising in these habitats, including 90 flies, 60 aculeata and 83 true bugs, including the rare Dalman's leatherbug.

Fort Grange is one of the Palmerston Forts, in Gosport, England. After Gomer and Elson forts had been approved in 1852, further consideration led to a decision to fill the gap between them by three more forts, and Grange is the most southerly of the three. Work began in 1858 and it was completed in 1863. Built as part of the outer defence line for Gosport along with Fort Brockhurst, Fort Elson and Fort Rowner to the North East and Fort Gomer to the South West. In 1914 23 (Siege) Company Royal Garrison Artillery was based at the Fort. It was used to create number 3 and 4 Siege Batteries Royal Garrison Artillery.The fort is a Grade II Listed Building and is virtually identical with Forts Brockhurst and Rowner.In 1917, the Fort Grange Aerodrome became the home to Robert Smith-Barry's School of Special Flying.There are many surviving details and the main structure is intact, however the earthworks have been much reduced and much of the moat is infilled. In 1916 it was armed with a 1-pounder heavy anti aircraft gun on a travelling carriage. The fort was used as a military headquarters from 1910 and was derelict by 1983. In 1984 Fort Grange became the home of HMS Sultan Royal Naval Volunteer Cadet Corps, and continues to fulfil this role today.

Bridgemary is a ward in Gosport, Hampshire, England. It is situated to the north of Gosport on the A32 towards Fareham. Every year there is a carnival organized by local residents. See -> Bridgemary Carnival

Rowner is a small settlement which forms part of the borough of Gosport, on the south coast of Hampshire, England.

HMS Sultan is a shore base of the Royal Navy in Gosport, Hampshire, England. It is the primary engineering training establishment for the Royal Navy and home to the Network Rail Advanced Apprenticeship Scheme and the EDF Energy engineering maintenance apprenticeship. The site was originally RAF Gosport it was then transferred to the Royal Navy during 1945 as HMS Siskin (Hence a nearby school being named Siskin School) it was then renamed HMS Sultan on 1 June 1956 when the airfield side was closed down and a Mechanical Repair Establishment was moved here from the Flathouse area by Portsmouth Dockyard.
