Odesa International Medical University

The Odesa National Medical University (Ukrainian: Одеський національний медичний університет, romanized: Odeskyi natsionalnyi medychnyi universytet) is a renowned government university in the city of Odesa, Ukraine.

Odesa National Fine Arts Museum or Odesa National Art Museum (Ukrainian: Одеський національний художній музей) is one of the principal art galleries of the city of Odesa. Founded in 1899, it occupies the Potocki Palace (Polish pronunciation: [pɔˈtɔt͡skʲi]), itself a monument of early 19th century architecture. The museum now houses more than 10 thousand pieces of art, including paintings by some of the best-known Russian and Ukrainian artists of late 19th and early 20th century. It is the only museum in Odesa that has free entrance day every last Sunday of the month.

The Odesa National Scientific Library (Ukrainian: Одеська національна наукова бібліотека) is a public library established in 1829 in Odesa, Ukraine. The library moved to its current location in 1907, into a new building designed by architect Fyodor Nesturkh in neo-Greek style. The library has been renamed numerous times throughout history, arriving to its current name in 2015. The library has a collection of over 5 million books, including 200,000 rare editions.

During the southern Ukraine offensive of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, the city of Odesa and the surrounding region have been the target of shelling and air strikes by Russian forces on multiple occasions since the conflict began, fired in part by Russian warships situated offshore in the Black Sea. The city has also been targeted by Russian cruise missiles.

Odesa I. I. Mechnykov National University (Ukrainian: Одеський національний університет Iмені І. І. Мечникова, romanized: Odeskyi natsionalnyi universytet imeni I. I. Mechnykova), located in Odesa, Ukraine, is one of the country's major universities, named after the scientist Élie Metchnikoff (who studied immunology, microbiology, and evolutionary embryology), a Nobel prizewinner in 1908. The university was founded in 1865 by an edict of Tsar Alexander II of Russia, which reorganized the Richelieu Lyceum of Odesa into the new Imperial Novorossiya University. In the Soviet era, the university was renamed Odesa I. I. Mechnykov State University (literally, "Odesa State University named after I. I. Mechnykov"). Odesa I. I. Mechnykov National University comprises four institutes, ten faculties, and seven specialized councils. The university is famous for its scientific library, the largest and oldest of any university in Ukraine (3,600,000 million volumes, ranging from the 15th century to the present day).

The Grekov Odesa Art School (Ukrainian: Одеське художнє училище імені Митрофана Грекова; abbreviated ОХУ) is a secondary education institution in Odesa, Ukraine. It is the oldest arts school in the country.

The Statue of Graf Vorontsov, Odessa, is a sculptural monument established in 1863 on the Sobor Square in Odesa in honor of Mikhail Semyonovich Vorontsov, Field Marshal, the General-Governor of Novorossiya Region and plenipotentiary governor of Bessarabia who was a graf until 1845, then knyaz from 1845. The sculptor is Friedrich Brugger, the pedestal was made under the command of Sevastopol 1st guild merchant P.A. Telyatnikov. and the architect was Francesco Carlo Boffo.It was the second monument in Odesa after the Statue of the Duke of Richelieu.The statue has also been known as the statue of Vorontsov, the statue of Graf Vorontsov or the statue of Knyaz Vorontsov.

The 121st Secondary School or officially Comprehensive Secondary School No. 121 with Deep Learning of Foreign Languages of Prymorskyi Raion of Odesa Municipality (Ukrainian: Середня загальноосвітня школа І-ІІІ ступенів № 121 з поглибленим вивченням іноземних мов Приморського району м. Одеси) is an ordinary public school which provides compulsory and specialized education.

The Transfiguration Cathedral in Odesa is the Orthodox Cathedral in Odesa, Ukraine, dedicated to the Saviour's Transfiguration and belongs to the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (Moscow Patriarchate). The first and foremost church in the city of Odesa, the cathedral was founded in 1794 by Gavril Bănulescu-Bodoni. Construction lagged several years behind schedule and the newly appointed governor of New Russia, Armand-Emmanuel de Vignerot du Plessis, Duc de Richelieu, employed the Italian architect Francesco Frappoli to complete the edifice.The cathedral was designated the main church of New Russia in 1808 and was continuously expanded throughout the 19th century. The belltower was built between 1825 and 1837, and the refectory connecting it to the main church several years later. The interior was lined with polychrome marble, and the icon screen also was of marble. Several churches in the region, including the Nativity Cathedral in Chişinău, were built in conscious imitation of the Odesa church. The cathedral was the burial place of the bishops of Tauride (including Saint Innocent of Kherson) and Prince Mikhail Semyonovich Vorontsov, the famous governor of New Russia. The original structure was demolished by the Soviets in 1936. It was rebuilt starting from 1999. The new cathedral was consecrated in 2003. The remains of Vorontsov and his wife were subsequently reburied in the cathedral. There is a statue of him on the cathedral square. The cathedral bells are controlled by an electronic device capable of playing 99 melodies.

Odesa Passage (Ukrainian: Пасаж, romanized: Pasazh) is a shopping arcade and a hotel on Derybasivska Street in the centre of Odesa. It has 4 floors. On the ground floor there are many boutiques and on other 3 floors there is a hotel. Odesa Passage was built at the end of the 19th century and was the best hotel in Southern Russian Empire until the Bristol Hotel was opened. The inside and exterior of the Passage building are decorated by numerous sculptures. The Passage houses multiple shops, restaurants, offices and the economy hotel “Passage”. Passage is the most picturesque market of Odesa.
