Building at 813–815 Forest Avenue

Stoneleigh Manor is a historic apartment building at the northwest corner of Michigan Avenue and Main Street in Evanston, Illinois. The three-story brick building was built in 1913. Architect John A. Nyden, an Evanston resident who designed several apartment buildings in the city, designed the building in the Prairie School style. The building's design includes canopied entrances flanked by columns and leadlights, limestone banding, and wide overhanging eaves. Each floor of the building has four rooms, which included amenities such as sunrooms, fireplaces, a vacuum cleaning system, and maid's rooms in some units.The building was added to the National Register of Historic Places on March 15, 1984.

The Forest and Annex is a historic apartment building at 901-905 Forest Avenue in Evanston, Illinois. Owner Alfred B. Andrews built The Forest in 1909 and added the annex to the original building in 1912. Andrews would later author Evanston's early zoning ordinances, and he planned his building accordingly, with a spacious lawn providing plenty of room between it and the street. The building has a Prairie School design with a horizontal emphasis, patterned brick, and wide eaves. The 11 apartments in the building all included features such as wood paneling and flooring, fireplaces, and rooms for housekeepers.The building was added to the National Register of Historic Places on March 15, 1984.

The three-story brick building was built in 1927. Architects McNally and Quinn designed the Tudor Revival building. The building's design features arched entrances, projecting bays, limestone window moldings, decorative gargoyles, and a parapet with several gables. The Tudor design continues in the building's interior, which includes wood panels in its lobby, wrought iron balustrades on its staircases, and marble fireplaces in the apartments themselves.The building was added to the National Register of Historic Places on March 15, 1984.Some of the apartments contain three or four bedrooms; often a maid's room with an attached bath. This building was one of the first apartment buildings to follow the many single-family homes built to capitalize on the lakefront view.

The Frederick B. Carter Jr. House is a historic house located at 1024 Judson Avenue in Evanston, Illinois. Architect Walter Burley Griffin designed the Prairie School house, which was built in 1910. The house is an early example of Griffin's attempts to develop a style independent of his mentor, Frank Lloyd Wright. The exterior of the house is made of brick and stucco with wooden half-timbering and trim. The house's form is distinguished by several projecting and receding masses. The Evanston Lakeshore Historic District is a residential historic district in Evanston, Illinois. The district encompasses a section of southeast Evanston that was developed in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. As Chicago expanded in the late nineteenth century, its residential development surged past its northern border and into Evanston, causing the suburb to grow considerably. Early laws, including the first municipal zoning law in 1921, restricted development in southeast Evanston to single-family houses. The expense of such houses and the popularity of the location led to the neighborhood becoming dominated by the relatively wealthy. Prominent architectural styles within the district include Italianate, Queen Anne, Tudor Revival, and Georgian Revival.The district was added to the National Register of Historic Places on September 29, 1980.
