Thornaby is a railway station on the Tees Valley Line, which runs between Bishop Auckland and Saltburn via Darlington. The station, situated 3 miles 17 chains (5.2 km) south-west of Middlesbrough, serves the market town of Thornaby-on-Tees, Borough of Stockton-on-Tees in North Yorkshire, England. It is owned by Network Rail and managed by TransPennine Express.

Stockton Riverside College is a further education college located in Thornaby-on-Tees, North Yorkshire, England. The college offers vocational courses, apprenticeship training, higher education and professional courses. It is part of the Education Training Collective, including Redcar and Cleveland College, Bede Sixth Form College, NETA Training and The Skills Academy. The college is a partner of the Teesside University College Partnership (TUCP).

Thornaby-on-Tees, commonly referred to as Thornaby, is a town and civil parish on the River Tees's southern bank. It is in the Borough of Stockton-on-Tees, North Yorkshire, England. The parish had a population of 24,741 at the 2011 census, in the Teesside built-up area.The town had a royal charter enacted to form a municipal borough in 1892, during the Victorian era, before merging into the County Borough of Teesside in 1968. A borough no longer defines a specific settlement's status as a town in England since the Local Government Act 1972 reforms. The modern centre was built on the north eastern part of Thornaby airfield and lies 2 miles (3.2 km) south-west of Stockton-on-Tees and 4 miles (6.4 km) south-west of Middlesbrough.

Thornaby Town Hall is a municipal building in the Mandale Road in Thornaby-on-Tees, North Yorkshire, England. The building, which is owned by Thornaby Town Council, is a Grade II listed building.

Teesdale Business Park is a major business park on the former site of Head Wrightsons' Teesdale works in Thornaby-on-Tees, North Yorkshire, England. The park was redeveloped by the Teesside Development Corporation. The area is immediately north of Thornaby railway station. The business park is bounded by the Tees Valley Rail-line and the River Tees. It is a short distance from Stockton-on-Tees town centre – connected via the Victoria, Teesquay Millennium, Princess of Wales and Infinity bridges.

Queen's Campus is a site owned by the University of Durham located in Thornaby-on-Tees in the borough of Stockton-on-Tees, now home to the Durham University International Study Centre. It was founded in 1992 as University College, Stockton (UCS), a joint venture with the University of Teesside. Teesside withdrew from the project in 1998, and the campus was renamed University of Durham, Stockton Campus (UDSC). In 2001 it was divided into two colleges, John Snow College and Stephenson College, and in 2002 renamed Queen's Campus to celebrate the golden jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II. In 2016, the university announced that it would be moving all colleges and departments from the campus to Durham City beginning in 2017, and repurposing the campus as a new International Study Centre to prepare overseas students to study at Durham, run by Study Group. This was completed in 2019.

The Infinity Bridge is a public pedestrian and cycle footbridge across the River Tees in the borough of Stockton-on-Tees in northern England. The bridge is situated one kilometre downriver of Stockton town centre, between the Princess of Wales Bridge and the Tees Barrage. It connects the Teesdale Business Park and the University of Durham's Queen's Campus in Thornaby-on-Tees on the south bank of the Tees with the Tees Valley Regeneration's £320 million North Shore development on the north bank.Built at a cost of £15 million with funding from Stockton Borough Council, English Partnerships and its successor body the Homes and Communities Agency, One NorthEast, and the European Regional Development Fund the bridge is a major part of the North Shore Redevelopment Project undertaken by Tees Valley Regeneration. The bridge had the project title North Shore Footbridge before being given its official name Infinity Bridge, chosen by a panel of representatives from the funding bodies, from a pool of names suggested by the public.The name derives from the infinity symbol ( ∞ {\displaystyle \infty } ) formed by the bridge and its reflection.

The Wolfson Research Institute for Health and Wellbeing is an interdisciplinary research centre within Durham University. It is based at the university's Queen's Campus in Thornaby, Stockton-on-Tees.The institute's core staff comprises an Executive Director, Co-Directors, and ECR Director and an Institute Manager who handles the administration of the institute. The team are responsible for supporting both a fellowship and Early Career Researcher program that comprises Durham academics/researchers whose research focuses on interdisciplinary research in health and wellbeing as well as the application of health research on society. External Honorary Professors and Fellows are appointed on the basis of their seniority and collaboration with the institute. The institute's management board is composed of academic members of the university who represent their departments, ECR and College reps and is chaired by the Executive Director.

TFM is an Independent Local Radio station for Teesside, England, based in Newcastle upon Tyne. It is owned and operated by Bauer as part of the Hits Radio network. It broadcasts to areas of County Durham and North Yorkshire. As of September 2023, the station has a weekly audience of 127,000 listeners according to RAJAR.

The Victoria Jubilee Bridge, also known as Victoria Bridge, is a road bridge carrying Bridge Road (A1130) east west across the River Tees between Stockton and Thornaby in Northern England. Commonly referred to as the Victoria Bridge, it is located just south east of Stockton town centre and in the town's namesake borough. Under an 1881 act of Parliament, the bridge was constructed (1882–1887) at a cost of £69,051 by Whitaker Brothers of Leeds, financed by the local council, a tramway company, North East Railways and the water board, and commemorates the 50th year of the reign of Queen Victoria.

Tees Rowing Club is a rowing club based on the River Tees in Northeast England. The club was founded in 1864.The Roll of Honour at the club includes 2012 Olympic Gold medal winner Kat Copeland and 2016 Paralympic Gold medal winner Laurence Whiteley.The club is currently based at the River Tees Watersports Centre in Stockton-on-Tees.

Tees Valley Regeneration was an urban regeneration company covering the Tees Valley area of North East England and at one time was the largest urban development agency in England. The headquarters were at Cavendish House, Teesdale Business Park in Thornaby-on-Tees. Tees Valley Regeneration started in 2002, operated for seven years under the leadership of Joe Docherty, who left the organisation in 2009, and closed in 2010; responsibility for regeneration was transferred to local councils.
