Heuberg Castle

The Fuscher Ache is a river of Salzburg, Austria, a right tributary of the River Salzach.The Fuscher Ache rises as the confluence of the Kaefertalbach und the Traunerbach near the Fuscher Törl at a height of about 2,500 m (AA) in the Lower Pinzgau. It flows from south to north through the valley of the same name, passing the small village of Fusch an der Großglocknerstraße. It supplies a drinking water reservoir for the village, its water quality being very high. It is rich in fish such as brown trout, grayling and char. After about 28 km (17 mi) it empties into the Salzach at Bruck an der Großglocknerstraße.

Bruck an der Großglocknerstraße (Southern Bavarian: Bruck a da Glocknerstrouss) is a municipality in Zell am See District, in the state of Salzburg in Austria.

The Hundstein, also High Hundstein, is a 2,117m mountain in Zell am See, in the Pinzgau region of Austria. It is the highest peak of the Salzburg Slate Alps and belongs to the subgroup of the Dienten Mountains. The mountain is located east of Lake Zell and opposite the end of the Fusch Valley and the Großglockner High Alpine Road in the Salzach Valley. As a group, the Hundstein, along with its neighbouring peaks Hochkasern (2,017m), Schwalbenwand (2,011m) and Gschwandtnerberg (1,612m), occupy the entire eastern half of the Dienten mountains. The main Summit itself forms the municipal boundary of Maria Alm, Zell am See, Bruck and Taxenbach. Both the mountain, with its summit panorama of the surrounding mountains, as well as the Hundsteinsee lake (1,891 m) are very popular destinations for hiking and mountain biking in the summer. In winter, the mountain is a skiing area.

Lake Zell (German: Zeller See; Italian: Lago di Zell) is a small freshwater lake in the Austrian Alps. It takes its name from the city of Zell am See, which is located on a small delta protruding into the lake. The lake is 4 kilometres (2.5 mi) long and 1.5 kilometres (0.93 mi) wide. It is up to 73 metres deep and at an elevation of 750 metres above sea level. The lake is fed by numerous small mountain streams in summer, but only one stream flows out of it into the Salzach. In winter the lake completely freezes and is used for winter sports. In summer the lake is used for pleasure boating (boats powered by combustion engines are not allowed except for the ferries that cross the width of the lake from Zell to Thumersbach, so electrically powered boats can be rented instead). The water is very clear and suitable for swimming or diving, but can be chilly. The southern end of the lake, near Schüttdorf, is shallower and mostly filled with water weed, making it unsuitable for boating or swimming. The "Alpine Lake" can be seen from nearby ski trails.

Zell am See is the administrative capital of the Zell am See District in the Austrian state of Salzburg. Located in the Kitzbühel Alps, the town is an important tourist destination due to its ski resorts and shoreline on Lake Zell. While Zell am See has been a favored winter and summer resort for the European aristocracy since the 19th century, it is known as a hub of the international jet set today.

The city district Zell am See-Süd (South Zell am See), official Schüttdorf, is the most populous part, with approximately 5,400 inhabitants, of the district capital Zell am See.

The Schmitten Tunnel (German: Schmittentunnel) is the bypass tunnel for the town of Zell am See in Austria and a road tunnel on the Pinzgau Road (Pinzgauer Straße, B 311) in the Austrian state of Salzburg. The Schmitten Tunnel has a length of 5,111 metres and acts as a relief road for the through road in Zell am See, that is normally very busy. The tunnel stretches from the suburb of Zell am See-Süd to the northern end of the town of Zell am See. One feature is the junction in the tunnel for the Old Town (Altstadt) of Zell am See. Construction on the tunnel began in 1993 and breakthrough was achieved on 18 July 1994. In 1996 it was completed at a cost of around 1.39 Billion schillings (about 101.3 million euros).

Schloss Prielau or Prielau Castle (also called Prilla or Prüel) is a former prince-bishop's hunting lodge on the shore of Lake Zell in the municipality of Maishofen in the district of Zell am See in Salzburg, Austria. The castle, which is used as a hotel, is under German Foundation for Monument Conservation.
