Grand Hotel (Point Clear, Alabama)

The Battles Wharf Historic District comprises a portion of Battles Wharf, Alabama, United States, between Mobile Bay and U.S. Route 98. The area, also called Battles, is a narrow stretch of bayfront with long, deep lots accessible by shell-paved lanes. Houses in the area date from about 1842 to the present day, and are in a distinctive wood-frame cottage style with tall windows and broad porches. Many houses feature so-called "rain porches," deep shed-roofed screened porches attached to the main house and elevated on short masonry piers. The district includes 14 contributing structures and two non-contributing structures. The properties are linked by a public footpath that serves as a thoroughfare. The district has principally functioned as a summer retreat for residents of Mobile, Alabama. The area was originally called Dadeville after the Robert Dade family who settled there in 1849. A resort hotel had been established in 1822 at Point Clear and the high shoreline overlooking Mobile Bay became a popular retreat. Several hotels were built in the 19th century. By the early 20th century the area had a school, a post office, an orphanage, several churches and two hotels. At about this time it became known as Battles, after the Battles family bought much of the property. The area declined from 1927 after a causeway was built across the bay to Mobile, taking traffic from the community. Battles Wharf was placed on the National Register of Historic Places on April 28, 1988.

The Brodbeck–Zundel Historic District is a historic district in Point Clear, Alabama, United States. The district consists of four houses near the eastern shore of Mobile Bay built by an extended family around the turn of the 20th century. Edward Brodbeck, an immigrant from Germany, formed a company with his brother-in-law, Charles F. Zundel, to run a general store, post office, and wharf. After Charles' death in 1896, Brodbeck and his wife took in his nine children, and built a large Victorian house near the general store. Two of Zundel's sons built houses nearby soon after. The houses were built as year-round residences, unlike the nearby homes which were vacation cottages. As such, they exhibited a more elaborate architectural style, with turned posts, brackets, and finials. The main Brodbeck house originally was oriented west toward the bay, but in 1905 was changed to be oriented towards the road with the addition of a wraparound porch. The district was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1988.

Point Clear is an unincorporated census-designated place (CDP) in Baldwin County, Alabama, United States. As of the 2010 census, the population was 2,125. It is part of the Daphne-Fairhope-Foley metropolitan area.

Twin Beech AME Zion Church, listed as Twin Beach AME Church, is a historic African Methodist Episcopal church on the east side of CR 44 in Fairhope, Alabama. It was built in 1925 and added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1988.

The American Legion Post 199 in Fairhope, Alabama is situated on a bluff overlooking Mobile Bay. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2018. It has also been known as Pine Needles and as the Mobile Business Women's Club. It was the Pine Needles Club."Past", "Present", and "Future" images at its website show a pleasing past appearance, including picturesque porches, is intended to be restored for the future. Its NRHP listing was anticipated.

The Street House is a historic cottage in Point Clear, Alabama, U.S.. It was built in 1906 for William Street. The house has remained in the family; by the 1980s, it belonged to H. Vaughn Street III. It has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places since December 20, 1988.After his home on the Weeks Bay estuary was destroyed by a hurricane in 1906, farmer William Street moved his wife and children to Point Clear and built their house shortly after. William’s sons, Charles and Luther, aided their father in his farming activities until he died shortly after 1906. The family continued to reside on the land and Charles married in the late 1920s. The house was passed down through the generations and, despite being vacant from 1960–85, was renovated in 1984.

The Beckner House (also known as the Baker House) is a historic residence in Fairhope, Alabama, United States. The house was built in 1906 for J. M. Beckner, a single-taxer from Illinois. The house sustained minor damage in the 1906 hurricane. A fish market was operated out of the home from the 1920s until Hurricane Frederic in 1979. It was renovated into a bed and breakfast and restaurant in 1998. The original portion of the house is a one and a half story, cross-gable structure. A later addition extended the building parallel to the street. The original block has a two-bay façade with a single-height shed roofed porch. The original paired one-over-one windows on the left of the first floor and on the front gable have been replaced with three-over-one. The original block has three rooms and a hall on the each floor.

The United States Post Office in Fairhope, Alabama, is a historic United States Post Office building built in 1932, in the Italian Renaissance Revival architectural style. It currently houses the offices of the Fairhope Courier. The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1988.

The Bank of Fairhope, at 396 Fairhope Ave. in Fairhope, Alabama, was built in 1927. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1988.It has also been known as the Press Register Building. It was designed by Mobile architect William March in Classical Revival style. It was built of hollow clay tile supplied by the Clay Products Company, a local firm.

Lebanon Chapel AME Church is a historic African Methodist Episcopal church bounded by Young Street on the West and Middle Street on the North in Fairhope, Alabama. It was built in 1923 and added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1988.

The Marietta Johnson School of Organic Education was a school in Fairhope, Alabama, United States, founded by Marietta Johnson. The School of Organic Education facility was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1988. The listing included three contributing buildings: the Bell Building built and expanded in 1904 and 1910; Dahlgren Hall, built in 1912; and the Art Barn, built in 1924. The school was profiled by educator John Dewey in his 1913 book Schools of Tomorrow. The campus was sold to Faulkner State College sometime during or before 1987.
