Thenford House

Courteenhall House, Courteenhall, Northamptonshire, England is an 18th-century country house built for Sir William Wake, 9th Baronet. Wake's architect was Samuel Saxon. The architectural style of the house is Neoclassical, and it is described by Pevsner as having been built with "great restraint but great sensitivity". Construction took place between 1791 and 1793. The grounds were laid out by Humphry Repton. The house remains the private home of the Wake family. Courteenhall House is a Grade II* listed building. The surrounding gardens and parkland are listed Grade II.

Farthinghoe was a railway station which served the Northamptonshire village of Farthinghoe in England. It opened in 1851 as part of the Buckinghamshire Railway's branch line to Verney Junction which provided connections to Bletchley and Oxford and closed in 1963.

Farthinghoe Nature Reserve is a 3.7 hectare Local Nature Reserve north-west of Brackley in Northamptonshire. It is owned by Northamptonshire County Council and managed by the Wildlife Trust for Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Northamptonshire.This former landfill site has grassland, ponds and woodland. Flowers include lady's bedstraw, meadow vetchling and snake's-head fritillary. There are fauna such as marbled white and green-veined white butterflies, and pipistrelle and noctule bats.There is access from Purston Lane.

The origin of the village's name is uncertain. Possibly, 'hill-spur of the dwellers among the ferns' or perhaps, 'ferny-place hill spur'.At the time of the 2001 census, the parish's population was 418 people, reducing slightly to 413 at the 2011 census.

The name is an adaptation of a medieval name for Middleton Cheney. The school attracts students from outside its catchment area and now has over 1,100. In August 2012, it became an academy.

Middleton Cheney was a rural district in Northamptonshire, England from 1894 to 1935. It was formed under the Local Government Act 1894 from that part of the Banbury rural sanitary district which was in Northamptonshire (the main part in Oxfordshire becoming the Banbury Rural District). It was named after the village of Middleton Cheney. The district was abolished in 1935 under a County Review Order, and its area added to the existing Brackley Rural District.

The A422 road between Banbury and Brackley used to pass through Middleton Cheney, but now bypasses it to the south. The 2011 Census recorded the parish's population (including Thenford) as 3,597.
