Penarth

Sea Roads is a detached house in Penarth in the Vale of Glamorgan noted for its distinctive Modernist design. It was designed by the Welsh architect Gordon Griffiths for John Gibbs and built in 1939. It is a rare example of Modernist domestic architecture of the 1930s in Wales; featuring typical Modernist details of white walls, flat roofs and a curved internal staircase framed by a full height window. The house was originally created with four bedrooms with accommodation for domestic staff, though it has been expanded since into six bedrooms with two bathrooms. All of the main rooms of the house and four of the bedrooms overlook the garden.It is situated on Cliff Parade in Penarth.The Cadw listing describes Sea Roads as an "exceptionally well-preserved modernist house" and notes its "expressive use" of windows to demonstrate the curvature of the facades and the internal organisation of the interior. The interior was "virtually intact" at the time of its 2006 listing.It has been listed Grade II by Cadw since August 2006.It was for sale in 2012 for £1.35 million, it was subsequently reduced to £1.1 million in 2014 (equivalent to £1,310,317 in 2021).

Penarth Lifeboat Station is located in Penarth, Vale of Glamorgan, Wales and originally opened in 1861.The station was closed in 1905 with services transferred to other local stations, until 1980 when the station reopened on Penarth seafront with an inshore lifeboat. The station currently operates an Atlantic 85-class lifeboat and a D-class (IB1) lifeboat.

Lower Penarth Halt was a station on the now completely removed double track branch from Penarth to Biglis Junction, Cadoxton in Glamorgan, South Wales. The station opened in 1888. It had two platforms, with shelters on each, and a substantial waiting room on the 'up' platform. It had no footbridge, though a level crossing was supplied.The Great Western Railway downgraded the station to a halt in 1935, a fate shared by most other stations on the branch. It closed in 1954, fourteen years before the rest of the branch. The platform and waiting room had been completely removed to ground level prior to 1966, and the site to the west (former up line side) is now occupied by bungalows, some of the trackbed having been sold off to private homeowners. The trackbed from just south of Lower Penarth to Penarth town centre is now a railway walk. )

Penarth Pier is a Victorian era pier in the town of Penarth, Vale of Glamorgan, South Wales. The pier was opened in 1898 and was a popular attraction to seaside-goers at the time, who also enjoyed trips on pleasure steamers that operated from the pier. It has on several occasions been damaged by vessels colliding with the structure and in 1931, a fire broke out in one of the pavilions. This wooden pavilion was never replaced, but a concrete pavilion has been used over the years as a concert hall, ballroom, cinema and for other purposes. It is currently home to the Penarth Pier Pavilion.

Icing Works is a Penarth based supplier of cupcake cases, boxes and icing equipment to cupcake shops.Founded in 2009 by former barrister Jennifer Yeo, she began selling personalised edible icing printing for large (usually birthday) cakes. The business now sells cupcake cases, cupcake presentation boxes, cupcake 'pods' and revolving icing stands.

Penarth railway station is the railway station serving the town of Penarth in the Vale of Glamorgan, South Wales. It is the terminus of Network Rail's Penarth branch running from Cogan Junction to Penarth station, 1 mile 12 chains (1.15 mi; 1.9 km) from the junction and 2 miles 67 chains (2.84 mi; 4.6 km) south of Cardiff Central station. The Penarth branch ran from Cogan Junction to Biglis Junction, a rail mileage of 5 miles 65 chains (5.81 mi; 9.4 km) and was officially closed beyond Penarth after the last passenger train ran on Saturday 4 May 1968.

Westbourne School is a coeducational independent day and boarding school, nursery and prep school for children between the ages of 2 and 18 located in the commuter town of Penarth, in the Vale of Glamorgan, Wales 5.2 miles (8.4 kilometres) south west from the Welsh capital city of Cardiff. Traditionally the school was strictly boys only. However, in the mid 1980s, the decision was taken to also accept girls and become a coeducational school. Westbourne School opened its 6th form for the Autumn term of 2008. The school introduced the speciality of the Diploma Programme of the International Baccalaureate Organisation in 2008. The school is housed within two buildings, approximately half a mile apart. The first houses the Nursery and Prep, the other the senior school and sixth form. Class sizes remain small, varying from a maximum of 20 in the senior school down to as low as 8 in some subjects. The academic results are consistently excellent and Westbourne School is nationally recognised as a high achieving school, named No.1 in Wales and IB School of the Year 2019 by the Sunday Times Schools Guide. Westbourne School achieved the highest grading of excellent across all categories in its 2018 Estyn Inspection. The school is now owned by the Montague Place Group of Independent Schools.
