Clogrennane Castle is a ruined castle in County Carlow, Ireland, near Clogrennane, about two miles from Carlow on the River Barrow on the county border with County Laois.

Ballyhide (Irish: Baile an Hídigh, meaning 'town of An tÍdeach (de la Hyde)') is a rural townland and village in the extreme south eastern corner of County Laois, Ireland at the border with County Carlow. The nearest urban centre is Carlow town which is 3 kilometres to the north east. It is located in the Luggacurren Local Electoral District.

Naomh Bríd Hurling Club ([n̪ˠiːvˠ bʲɾʲiːdʲ], neev breed, lit. 'Saint Brigid') is a Gaelic Athletic Association club located in Leighlinbridge, County Carlow, Ireland. The club is solely concerned with the game of hurling.

Leighlinbridge Castle, also called Black Castle, is in the village of Leighlinbridge, County Carlow, Ireland, on the River Barrow. The early castle was built c.1181 for the Normans. In the 1540s a Carmelite friary was converted into a new fort by Edward Bellingham. The remains of the castle are now dilapidated - a 50-foot-tall (15 m) broken castle tower and parts of one side of an enclosing wall are still extant.

Leighlinbridge (; Irish: Leithghlinn an Droichid, meaning 'half-glen or grey glen of the bridge') is a small town on the River Barrow in County Carlow, Ireland. It is 11 km south of Carlow town, on the R705 road. The N9 national primary route once passed through the village, but was by-passed in the 1980s. It covers the townlands of Leighlin (east bank of the river) and Ballyknockan (west bank). The village features narrow winding streets, grey limestone malthouses and castle ruins overlooking a 14th-century bridge across the River Barrow. Leighlinbridge has won the National Tidy Towns Competition, has come first in the Barrow Awards, been an overall national winner in Ireland's Green Town 2000, and represented Ireland in the European "Entente Florale" competition in 2001.

Bilboa (Irish: Biolbó) is a settlement located on the boundaries of counties Carlow, Laois and Kilkenny in Ireland. A bridge, a short distance from the village and built c. 1800, is known as the 'Three Counties Bridge'. The little settlement at Bilboa was originally based around coal and coal mining. Of the original mining village, only the church remains. Bilboá's Church of Ireland church is a detached three-bay Tudor Revival church, built in 1846. It has a crenellated entrance tower and granite dressings, including clasping buttresses on octagonal plans. The interior retains its original pews. Some sources link the origin of the name Bilboa to Colonel John Staunton Rochford (1802-1844), who is credited with an act of valour while stationed with the British Army near the Spanish city of Bilboa. He became known as Rochford of Bilboa, whereas his family before him were the Rochfords of Clogrennene. Later members of his family were involved in the building of Bilboa church c. 1850. The area is home to a windfarm, a national (primary) school and an An Post post office.

Old Leighlin (Irish: Seanleithghlinn), also Oldleighlin, is a village, civil parish and townland in County Carlow, Ireland. The village is 3.5 km (2 mi) west of Leighlinbridge. The site was at one time one of the foremost monastic houses in Leinster, with 1500 monks in residence. It was the location for a church synod in AD 630, which decided that the Irish church should follow Roman as opposed to Celtic dating conventions for determining the date of Easter.St Laserian's Cathedral was the cathedral of the diocese of Leighlin, now merged with neighbouring dioceses in the Church of Ireland. It is named after Molaise of Leighlin and was built on the site of an old monastic church founded here in 632 AD. It is one of the smallest Irish medieval cathedrals. Nearby are a holy well, which is still venerated, and small granite undecorated wheeled high cross with edge mouldings.Old Leighlin gave its name to a constituency in the pre-1800 Irish House of Commons. It was a bishop's borough where the Church of Ireland Bishop of Ferns and Leighlin controlled the selection of the two Members of Parliament.

St Laserian's Cathedral, Old Leighlin, previously the cathedral of the Diocese of Leighlin, is now one of the six cathedral churches in the Diocese of Cashel and Ossory of the Church of Ireland. It is situated on the site of a mediaeval monastery in the village of Old Leighlin, County Carlow, Ireland, some 12 km south of Carlow town in the ecclesiastical province of Dublin.

Killeshin (Irish: Cill Uisean, meaning 'church of [the glen of] Uise') is a village in County Laois, Ireland on the R430 regional road. Killeshin is a small rural community situated five kilometres west of Carlow town and overlooks the picturesque Barrow Valley. The church at the foot of Slievemargy, the hill above Killeshin, is the site of an early Christian monastery. The village is in a townland and civil parish of the same name.

The Institute of Technology, Carlow (IT Carlow; Irish: Institiúid Teicneolaíochta Cheatharlach) was an institute of technology, located in Carlow, Ireland. The institute had campuses in Carlow, Wexford, and Wicklow, as well as a part-time provision elsewhere in Ireland. Along with the Waterford Institute of Technology, the institute was dissolved on 1 May 2022 and was succeeded by the South East Technological University.

Carlow Vocational School was a second-level educational establishment in Carlow, Ireland. The school closed in May 2017, with students transferring to Tyndall College, Carlow.
