Glandyfi Castle in Glandyfi, Ceredigion, Wales, is a mock castle dating from the early 19th century. It was built for George Jeffreys, a barrister and High Sheriff of Cardiganshire, in around 1819. Jeffreys’ great-uncle, Edward, had purchased the estate in 1792. The architect is not known, although John Hiram Haycock has been suggested. Jeffreys and his wife were friends of Thomas Love Peacock, the novelist and poet, whose wedding took place at the castle in 1820. The only castellated country house in the county, Glandyfi is a Grade II listed building. A Great Western Railways 7800 'Manor' Class locomotive was named after the castle, but was withdrawn and scrapped in the 1960s.

Glandyfi (formerly anglicised as Glandovey) is a small hamlet in the county of Ceredigion in Wales on the A487 trunk road from Machynlleth to Aberystwyth . Glandyfi Castle was built in the Regency Gothic style in 1810 for George Jeffreys. The Jeffreys family remained in possession of the castle until 1906, when the estate was broken up and sold at auction. The castle itself was bought by Robert John Spurrell (elder son of Daniel Spurrell of Bessingham, Norfolk), who remained there until his death in 1929. It was later the home of Sir Bernard and Lady Docker, and until September 2019, operated as a bed and breakfast.Glandyfi Castle has been a Grade II listed building since 1964 as "the only castellated country house in the county". As of April 2020, the castle was again on the market. The property contains a number of gardens planted at different times in its history. It is located close to the site of Aberdyfi Castle, which dates back to 1156. According to Visit Wales in 2019, the castle provided guest accommodations in eight rooms. A Country Life magazine report in 2020 indicated that the property had been listed for sale, as "a ten-bedroom, ten-bathroom, five-reception room home" with "medieval-style atrium".

Hen Dyffryn Gwyn is a Grade II* listed building in Tywyn, Gwynedd. The house has been dated to 1640 and is listed for being a well-preserved example of a rural dwelling house with strong external character and original detail.

Dovey Junction ( DUH-vee-; Welsh: Cyffordd Dyfi) is a railway station on the Cambrian Line in Wales. It is the junction where the line splits into the line to Aberystwyth and the Cambrian Coast Line to Pwllheli. Passenger services are provided by Transport for Wales. There is a single island platform. The station is in Powys, about 440 yards (400 m) NE of the junction of three counties: the current principal areas of Ceredigion, Powys and Gwynedd, corresponding to the traditional counties of Cardiganshire, Montgomeryshire and Merionethshire. The station is in the midst of the large Dyfi National Nature Reserve, near the Cardigan Bay coast. There is no settlement here but, contrary to common belief, it is not completely isolated: a 0.6-mile (1 km) footpath provides passenger access to and from the hamlet of Glandyfi in Ceredigion, and to a main road (the A487).

The Cwm Ebol quarry (also known as Cwmebol quarry) was a slate quarry about 1 mile (1.6 km) north west of the village of Pennal in Mid Wales. It operated from about 1860 to about 1906. It was the last Welsh slate quarry connected only to a trans-shipment point instead of directly to a railway.

Cors Dyfi is a nature reserve located near to the village of Derwenlas, in the county of Powys, Wales. Located on land reclaimed from the Estuary on the south side of the River Dyfi, the reserve is under the management of the Montgomeryshire Wildlife Trust.

Mynydd Esgairweddan is a hill near Pennal in southern Gwynedd, Wales (grid reference SH6702). Nearby is the tiny settlement of Esgairweddan. It is very close to the site of the old Roman fort of Cefn Caer (Pennal). The area was described in the Topographical Dictionary of Wales by Samuel Lewis (published 1833) as; "A tract of hilly and rocky ground but little adapted for purposes of agriculture. The soil is thin and poor, but, in some of the lower grounds, not altogether unproductive; the declivities of the hills afford only a scanty pasturage for sheep and young cattle: peat, which forms the principal fuel of the inhabitants, is found in various parts."

Pennal is a village and community on the A493 road in southern Gwynedd, Wales, on the north bank of the River Dyfi, near Machynlleth. It lies in the historic county of Merionethshire (Welsh: Sir Feirionnydd) and is within the Snowdonia National Park.
