The University of Suffolk is a public university situated in Suffolk and Norfolk, England. The modern university was established in 2007 as University Campus Suffolk (UCS), and the institution was founded as a unique collaboration between the University of East Anglia and the University of Essex. The university's current name was adopted after it was granted independence in 2016 by the Privy Council and was awarded university status.The University of Suffolk is spread over four campuses: a central hub in Ipswich, and further campuses which focus on foundation courses that are located in Bury St Edmunds, Lowestoft and Great Yarmouth (the latter in Norfolk, not Suffolk). The university operates six academic faculties and in 2019/20 had 9,565 students. Some 8% of the student body are classed as international students, 53% are classed as mature students, and 66% of the university's students are female.The university was ranked in the top 10 for Course and Lecturers in the WhatUni Student Choice Awards 2019.The current chancellor of the University of Suffolk is Helen Pankhurst, an appointed Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE), as well as a scholar, writer, and the great-granddaughter of Emmeline Pankhurst.

St Clement's Church, Ipswich, is a redundant church. The church is one of twelve medieval churches in Ipswich, six of which had been declared redundant by the 1970s. In the twenty-first century it was taken over by Ipswich Historic Churches Trust.The oldest parts of the church are fourteenth century, with additions from the fifteenth century, with substantial additions in the Tudor period to the tower and to the chancel in 1860 under the guidance of Frederick Barnes.For 500 years its congregation consisted primarily of the families of shipwrights, sailors, stevedores and merchants. Indeed, wool merchants funded the sixteenth century building of the tower.

Neptune Inn is an historic public house located in Fore Street, Ipswich, Suffolk, England. The building was originally built around 1490 and is grade II* listed.

Suffolk New College (formerly Suffolk College) is a further education college in Ipswich. It provides courses for students from across south Suffolk. In 2009 it constructed a new building costing £70 million.

Isaacs on the Quay or Cobbolds on the Quay is a pub in Ipswich, in the Ipswich district, in the county of Suffolk, England. The pub itself is a grade II* listed building, listed on 19 December 1951, and is late 18th or early 19th century. 80 and 80A Fore Street including warehouses to rear (The Sale Room, The Crossway and warehouse to south fronting Wherry Quay) is grade I listed, listed on 19 December 1951 and the Warehouse Attached to West of Warehouse (the Crossway) at Rear of Numbers 80 and 80a Fore Street is also II*, listed also on 19 December 1951. The Issac Lord Complex was on the Heritage at Risk Register, an extensive scheme of structural repairs and re-roofing, with grant assistance from the local authority and English Heritage, in 2005 it was sold to a new owner which allowed all the buildings to be brought back into use.

St Helen's Church, Ipswich is an Anglican church in Ipswich, Suffolk, England. The church is built from knapped flint rubble with additional stone and white brick dressings. Although some of the building dates back to the medieval period, the building was substantially altered in the nineteenth century.

Fore Street Swimming Pool (formerly known as Fore Street Baths) is a swimming venue in Ipswich that opened on 4 March 1894.

The Ipswich Waterfront is a cultural and historically significant area surrounding the marina in the town of Ipswich, Suffolk. The modern dock was constructed in 1842 and the area was a functioning dock up until the 1970s. At the time of completion, the dock was known as 'the biggest and most important enclosed dock in the kingdom'. Although the dock as it stands was constructed in 1842, the area was used for trade as far back as the 7th century. The decline of industry in the town resulted in the area being transformed into a trendy area of Ipswich, the waterfront is now characterised by its marina, known as Neptune Marina, as well as its mix of classical and postmodern architecture which includes multiple high-rise apartment buildings, restaurants, bars and cafés. The waterfront is also home to the main campus of the regions university, the University of Suffolk.

East Suffolk County Hall is a historic building located in St Helen's Street in Ipswich. The building, which was the headquarters of East Suffolk County Council until 1974 and then of Suffolk County Council until 2004, is a Grade II listed building.

Martin & Newby was the oldest shop in Ipswich, Suffolk until it closed down in June 2004. The business was established in Fore Street in 1873 and was based around 5 departments: Ironmongery, Electrical, Domestic, Gardening and Tools. The shop gave a very traditional personal service, it was reported by local press that the shop closed down because they could not compete with DIY Superstores such as B&Q and the increasing range of products offered by supermarkets. The shop had worldwide attention when one of the world's oldest working light bulbs stopped working in 2001, the bulb was believed to be over 70 years old.
