Baglan Bay power station

River Neath (Welsh: Afon Nedd) is a river in south Wales running south west from the point at which its headwaters arising in the Brecon Beacons National Park converge to its mouth at Baglan Bay below Briton Ferry on the east side of Swansea Bay.

Baglan Bay (Welsh: Bae Baglan) is a part of the Swansea Bay coastline and a district of Neath Port Talbot county borough, Wales. Baglan Bay is also the name of a local government community. Baglan Bay is served by the M4 Motorway and the A48 road which traverse the northeastern edge of the area.

The moors and Baglan Bay are to the southwest. The village contains a number of historical buildings such as Baglan House, St. Catharine's Church, and St. Baglan's Church. The first St. Baglan's Church is now a shell after a fire in 1954. St. Catharine's Church was designed by Welsh architect John Prichard, an exponent of the neo-Gothic style and dedicated in 1882. Baglan House was one of the seats of the Villiers family, earls of Jersey.Baglan railway station is on the South Wales Main Line with trains to Cardiff and Swansea.

Baglan Dragons Association Football Club is a Welsh football team based in Baglan, Port Talbot, Wales. They play in the Cymru South, which is in the second tier of the Welsh football league system.

Briton Ferry (Welsh: Llansawel) is a town and community in the county borough of Neath Port Talbot, Wales. The Welsh name may indicate that the church, llan, is protected from the wind, awel. Alternatively, Sawel may be a derivative of Saul, St Paul's earlier name. He once landed at Briton Ferry. An alternative Welsh name unused today is Rhyd y Brython, a direct translation of Briton Ferry. The Normans referred to the River crossing as La Brittonne and Leland in 1540 as Britanne Fery.

It is a stop on the South Wales Main Line, served by Transport for Wales Swanline regional trains between Swansea and Cardiff. It is a relatively new station, opened in 1996. The station is located at street level but passenger access is from the Seaway Parade flyover. It is close to Neath Port Talbot Hospital.

Briton Ferry railway station is a minor station in the village of Briton Ferry, south Wales. It is 206 miles 40 chains (332.3 km) from the zero point at London Paddington, measured via Stroud. The station is located at ground level at Shelone Road in Briton Ferry. It is a stop on the South Wales Main Line, served by Transport for Wales Swanline regional trains between Swansea and Cardiff. The station is sited within the Cwrt Sart junction complex where the Swansea District Line meets the South Wales Main Line. The present station opened on 1 June 1994, which replaced an earlier station that closed to passengers on 2 November 1964 and to goods services on 6 September 1965.

Sandfields West (Welsh: Gorllewin Traethmelyn) is an electoral ward and a community of Neath Port Talbot county borough, Wales. It is part of the parliamentary constituency of Aberavon. The ward elects three county councillors to Neath Port Talbot County Borough Council.
