Sviatoshynsky Forest Park is a forest park located in the region of Kyiv Polissya on the sandy terrace of the Irpin River in Ukraine. It has the status of a park-monument of landscape art.

Irpin (Ukrainian: Ірпі́нь, IPA: [irˈp⁽ʲ⁾inʲ] ) is a city on the Irpin River in Bucha Raion, Kyiv Oblast, northern Ukraine. It is located next to the capital Kyiv. Irpin hosts the administration of Irpin urban hromada, one of the hromadas of Ukraine. The city has a population of 65,167 (2022 estimate).The city has a railway station built in 1899. In 2022, it received the title Hero City of Ukraine.During the Russian invasion of Ukraine in 2022, the city was damaged by 70%. As of June 25, 2023, the city's mayor reported that most people had already returned: "Yes, we have already returned 85% of the entire city's population. In addition, we have received almost 25,000 internally displaced persons, mostly from the east."

Kyiv Chaika Airfield (Ukrainian: Аеродром «Київ Чайка», also given as Kyiv West) is an airport in Ukraine located in Petropavlivska Borshchahivka (Kyiv-Sviatoshyn Raion, Kyiv Region), about 15 km (9 mi) west of Kyiv. It is a general aviation airfield with Antonov An-2, An-28, and other single-engine aircraft. There is a paved 150 x 45 m tarmac ramp. It is an integral part of the Seagull Sports Complex. An aeroclub is based at the airport, training parachutists and beginners training under the United States Air Force Academy program. The sports complex is adjacent to the suburban residential complex of the same name, which got its name because of its proximity to the airfield.

Autodrome Chaika (Ukrainian: Автодром «Чайка», romanized: Avtodrom «Chaika»), formerly known as Chaika Motorsports Complex (Ukrainian: Автомобільний спортивний комплекс «Чайка», romanized: Avtomobilnyi sportyvnyi kompleks «Chaika»), is a motorsport racetrack in Ukraine, situated in Chaiky village, near the capital city Kyiv. The circuit was built in 1975., when the country was a part of Soviet Union, since the foundation of Fédération Automobile de l'Ukraine (FAU) in 1993, it hosts various regional racing series, such as Ukrainian Touring Championship and Superbike Ukraine.

Horenychi (Ukrainian: Гореничі) is a village in Ukraine, in Bucha Raion (district) of Kyiv Oblast. It belongs to Bilohorodka rural hromada, one of the hromadas of Ukraine. The village has a population of 2,551. Until 18 July 2020, Horenychi belonged to Kyiv-Sviatoshyn Raion. The raion was abolished that day as part of the administrative reform of Ukraine, which reduced the number of raions of Kyiv Oblast to seven. The area of Kyiv-Sviatoshyn Raion was split between Bucha, Fastiv, and Obukhiv Raions, with Horenychi being transferred to Bucha Raion.

Bilohorodka (Ukrainian: Білогородка) is a village in Bucha Raion, Kyiv Oblast of north Ukraine. It hosts the administration of Bilohorodka rural hromada, one of the hromadas of Ukraine, formed on 12 June 12 2020 and including nine neighbouring villages: Bobrytsia, Horenytsia, Myzychi, Sviatopetrivske, Hnativka, Stoianka, Shevchenko, Nehrashi, and Luka.One of the nine component villages, Hnativka, is perhaps better known by its Hebrew and Yiddish name Anatevka, and is the site of a modern-day refugee village which was named after the fictional town of Anatevka from the Sholem Aleichem stories, including Fiddler on the Roof, stories which were set in this same area of the former Kiev Gubernia.

Kyiv-Sviatoshyn Raion (Ukrainian: Києво-Святошинський район, romanized: Kyievo-Sviatoshynskyi raion) was a raion (district) in Kyiv Oblast of Ukraine, adjacent to the city of Kyiv which served as the administrative center for the raion. The city of Kyiv itself did not belong to the raion. The raion was abolished on 18 July 2020 as part of the administrative reform of Ukraine, which reduced the number of raions of Kyiv Oblast to seven. The area of Kyiv-Sviatoshyn Raion was split between Bucha, Fastiv, and Obukhiv Raions. The last estimate of the raion population was 210,123 (2020 est.). The raion was situated just to the west of the city of Kyiv, and should not be confused with the Sviatoshyn District of Kyiv city, which it bordered and where its administration was located. The raion's name related to the historical area and woodland of Sviatoshyn, which currently is located with the city limits of Kyiv.

Prospect Beresteiskyi (Ukrainian: Проспект Берестейський, lit. 'Brest Avenue'), is the second longest public roadway (prospekt) in Kyiv, Ukraine. The roadway was created in the second half of the 20th century (1964) as part of the urbanized area of the Brest-Lytovske highway and was known as Brest-Lytovskyi prospect. At the beginning of the Soviet perestroika period in 1985, it was renamed to Prospect Peremohy. It gained its current name in February 2023.

The battle of Bucha was part of the Kyiv offensive in the Russian invasion of Ukraine for control of the city of Bucha. The combatants were elements of the Russian Armed Forces and Ukrainian Ground Forces. The battle lasted from 27 February to 31 March 2022 and ended with the withdrawal of Russian forces. The battle was part of a larger tactic to encircle Kyiv, the capital city of Ukraine. The armed forces of Ukraine resisted the Russian advance in the capital's western suburbs of Irpin, Bucha, and Hostomel. Bucha was among the locations that the Kyiv Oblast State Administration named as the most dangerous places in the Kyiv Oblast. After Russian forces withdrew from Bucha and Ukrainian forces regain the city's control, reports of uncovered atrocities by the Russian military attracted international attention.

The Bucha massacre (Ukrainian: Бучанська різанина, romanized: Buchanska rizanyna; Russian: Резня в Буче, romanized: Reznya v Buche), also known as the Bucha Genocide (Ukrainian: геноцид у Бучі, romanized: henotsyd u Buchi) was the mass murder of Ukrainian civilians and prisoners of war by the Russian Armed Forces during the fight for and occupation of the city of Bucha as part of the Russian invasion of Ukraine. Photographic and video evidence of the massacre emerged on 1 April 2022 after Russian forces withdrew from the city.According to local authorities, 458 bodies have been recovered from the town, including 9 children under the age of 18; among the victims, 419 people were killed with weapons and 39 appeared to have died of natural causes, possibly related to the occupation. The UN High Commissioner for Human Rights documented the unlawful killings, including summary executions, of at least 73 civilians in Bucha. Photos showed corpses of civilians, lined up with their hands bound behind their backs, shot at close range. An inquiry by Radio Free Europe reported the use of a basement beneath a campground as a torture chamber. Many bodies were found mutilated and burnt, and girls as young as fourteen reported being raped by Russian soldiers. In intercepted conversations, Russian soldiers referred to these operations involving hunting down people in lists, filtration, torture, and execution as zachistka ("cleansing"). Ukraine has asked the International Criminal Court to investigate what happened in Bucha as part of its ongoing investigation of the invasion to determine whether a series of Russian war crimes or crimes against humanity were committed.Russian authorities have denied responsibility and instead claimed that Ukraine faked footage of the event or staged the killings itself as a false flag operation, and have claimed that the footage and photographs of dead bodies were a "staged performance". These assertions by Russian authorities have been debunked as false by various groups and media organizations. Additionally, eyewitness accounts from residents of Bucha said that the Russian Armed Forces carried out the killings.

Bucha (Ukrainian: Буча, pronounced [ˈbutʃɐ] ) is a city in Ukraine's Kyiv Oblast. Administratively, it serves as the administrative center of Bucha Raion. It hosts the administration of Bucha urban hromada, one of the hromadas of Ukraine. Its population is approximately 37,321 (2022 estimate). Bucha Day is celebrated in the city between 11 and 13 September.The Battle of Bucha was part of the Kyiv offensive in the 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine. The battle lasted from 27 February 2022 to 31 March 2022 and ended with the withdrawal of Russian forces. Mayor Anatolii Fedoruk reported that Bucha had been fully retaken from Russian forces as of 31 March. After Ukrainian forces regained control of Bucha, reports and testimonies of war crimes committed by the Russian military began to circulate. These war crimes have been collectively labeled the Bucha massacre.
