Vines High School

Plano Senior High School (commonly Plano, Plano Senior High, or PSHS) is a public secondary school in Plano, Texas, serving students in grades 11–12. The school is part of the Plano Independent School District, with admission based primarily on the locations of students' homes. Plano is a two-time Blue Ribbon School and a Texas Exemplary School. Students at Plano Senior typically attended one of two feeder high schools: Clark or Vines. Founded in 1891 as Plano Public School, serving both primary and secondary students, the school was, by the mid-1910s, sending a majority of its graduating students on to college. Plano High School, created in 1952 by separating the primary students into Mendenhall Elementary School, was immediately accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, allowing its graduates to enter college without taking an entrance exam. In 1964, Plano High School integrated with the Frederick Douglass School (formerly Plano Colored School), and the integrated football team won the first of the school's seven state championships in 1965. In 1975, the school moved to a new 96-acre (39 ha) campus with five buildings, very similar to the layout of a junior college, where it has remained since. The old building is now the T. H. Williams High School, serving 9th and 10th grade. During the first year only at the new campus, PSHS served 10th – 12th grade, making the Class of 1978 the only class to attend school at this campus for three years. Plano administers more Advanced Placement tests each year than any other school west of the Mississippi River and all but one school in the United States. The school is accredited by the Texas Education Agency as well as the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. Plano was ranked in the top 2,000 high schools in the United States in 2013. Plano's mascot is the Wildcat. In 2013 Plano was ranked 117th in Newsweek's review of America's Best High Schools.As of the 2012–2013 school year, the school had an enrollment of 2,627 students and 149.54 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student-teacher ratio of 17.57:1.

Heritage Farmstead Museum (also known as the Ammie Wilson House) is a historic farm museum at 1900 West 15th Street in Plano, Texas. The late-Victorian farm-house was built in 1891 on a 365-acre farm belonging to Mary Alice Farrell and her husband Hunter Farrell, a landowner and businessman whose family had moved to Texas from Virginia. The Farrells divorced in 1929 and eventually their daughter Ammie took over management of the farm and became an award-winning livestock breeder before her death in 1972. The farm was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1978. In 1986 the farm opened as a living museum utilizing the remaining 4.5 acres surrounding the home. The museum is accredited by the American Alliance of Museums.

John Paul II High School is a private Roman Catholic college preparatory high school in Plano, Texas. The school is within the Roman Catholic Diocese of Dallas. The school's Vision is "We will make a difference in the world by walking in the footsteps of Pope John Paul II" and the school's Mission is "To develop leaders who are critical thinkers and effective communicators, committed to service and rooted in faith".

The UTD/Synergy Park station is a future train station along the Dallas Area Rapid Transit Silver Line. The station will be located near Rutford Avenue at the north end of the University of Texas at Dallas campus in Richardson, Texas.The station will serve the University of Texas at Dallas campus and Synergy Park.

Plano ISD Academy High School, commonly referred to as Academy High School, is a STEAM, interdisciplinary and project-based learning high school. The school serves students from grades 9-12. This school is not a regular secondary school because this school uses a selection process to draw eighth graders from various middle schools in Plano ISD. The school is an alternative to the regular high school experience by offering collaborative team projects, more STEAM classes and the ability to attend classes without structured class periods. This school is one of the three Academy Programs in Plano ISD. The others are the Plano ISD Health Sciences Academy and The IB World School at Plano East.

Jack Hatchell Transit Center is a small bus-only station located on 15th Creek Dr. west of Coit in Plano, Texas, United States. It is owned and operated by Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART), whose buses mostly serve Plano-area hospitals such as the Presbyterian Hospital and the Medical Center of Plano. It is one of the few DART transit centers outside the Dallas County area. In 1989 the bus station was opened as the West Plano Transit Center. On 12 October 2009, DART dignitaries and the City of Plano renamed and formally dedicated the station in memory of a Collin County Commissioner and transportation leader who died in 2008.

Canyon Creek Christian Academy (CCCA) was a private early education-12th grade Christian private school in Richardson, Texas. The school served families in various communities, including Richardson, Garland, and Plano. It opened in 1974. In the late 1980s many teachers and students left the school, alleging mismanagement, harassment, and interference in student affairs by the school's principal, a relative of the sponsoring church's pastor. The school fell under mismanagement once again in 2008 when David "Dave" Roberts was named Head of School. This mismanagement would not be survivable and Canyon Creek Christian Academy permanently closed its doors on June 30, 2017.

Collin Creek Mall was a two-level, enclosed regional mall in Plano, Texas opened in 1981 and closed for redevelopment in 2019. It was located near the intersection of US 75 (Central Expressway) and President George Bush Turnpike. Since September 2019, the mall has been partially demolished with the central section planned to become part of a $1 billion mixed-use development, designed by Centurion American Development Group.

The University of Texas at Dallas (UTD or UT Dallas) is a public research university in Richardson, Texas. It is one of the largest public universities in the Dallas area and the northernmost institution of the University of Texas system. It was initially founded in 1961 as a private research arm of Texas Instruments. The young university has been characterized by rapid growth in research output and its competitive undergraduate admissions policies since its inception. Less than 47 years after its founding, the Carnegie Foundation had classified the university as a doctoral research university with "Highest Research Activity"—faster than any other school in Texas. The university is associated with four Nobel Prizes and has members of the National Academy of Sciences and National Academy of Engineering on its faculty with the most notable research projects including the areas of Space Science, Bioengineering, Cybersecurity, Nanotechnology, and Behavioral and Brain Sciences. While the main campus is officially under the city jurisdiction of Richardson, one-third of it is within the borders of Dallas County. UTD also operates several locations in downtown Dallas - this includes the Crow Museum of Asian Art in the Arts District as well as multiple buildings in the Medical District next to UT Southwestern: the Center for BrainHealth and the Callier Center for Communication Disorders.
