The West Side of Stamford is the area immediately west of Downtown Stamford, covering the area north of Interstate 95 between the Greenwich town line and the Rippowam River. The northern boundary is commonly taken as West Broad Street and Palmers Hill Road. Another version of the boundaries of the West Side has it located between Stillwater Avenue, Broad Street, West Main Street and West Avenue up to Exit 6 Interstate 95.The West Side of Stamford, Connecticut, also known as Richmond Hill is one of the oldest neighborhoods in the state of Connecticut. It is located north of the South End neighborhood, west of Downtown and east of Greenwich, Connecticut at Old Greenwich.

St. Vladimir's Cathedral is a Ukrainian Catholic cathedral located in Stamford, Connecticut. It is the seat for the Eparchy of Stamford. The parish was established in 1916, and the simple brick Romanesque Revival-inspired church building was completed in 1957.

The Zion Lutheran Church is a historic Lutheran church building at 132 Glenbrook Road in Stamford, Connecticut. The red brick Gothic Revival structure was built in 1925 by a German immigrant congregation founded in 1897. It is the city's only red brick church. The main facade is dominated by a square tower on the right, which rises only to the height of the roof gable on the left. The gable stands above a large quadruple window set in a slightly pointed arch, which stands above the main entrance, which is recessed in an arched opening.The property was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1987.

Sacred Heart Academy was a regional, female-only Catholic school for grades 9–12, founded in 1922 under the Roman Catholic Diocese of Bridgeport. It was located at 200 Strawberry Hill Avenue in Stamford, Connecticut and served parts of Fairfield County, Connecticut and Westchester County, New York. It closed in 2006 due to "declining enrollment and financial difficulties."

The C. J. Starr Barn and Carriage House is an historic estate outbuilding, located on the grounds of the former Sacred Heart Academy on Strawberry Hill Road in Stamford, Connecticut. It is a large 1+1⁄2-story wood-frame structure with elegant Italianate scrolled woodwork on the exterior, with a smaller barn joined to a larger building that originally functioned as a carriage house. They were built c. 1860 by C. J. Starr has part of a larger country estate, of which these are the only surviving buildings. The estate was given to the Sacred Heart Academy, which has done sensitive restoration of the exterior of the structure; its interior has been converted into a gymnasium and other facilities.The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on September 14, 1979.

The Octagon House was a historic house at 120 Strawberry Hill Avenue, on the edge of the Glenbrook section of Stamford, Connecticut. It was one of a number of octagon houses in the United States, built during a fad in buildings of that shape from the late 1840s to the 1870s. The octagonal portion of the house was concrete, with external scoring to imitate ashlar. The use of concrete as a building material was also promoted by Orson Squire Fowler, the primary mover behind the octagon house fad.The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1979. It was destroyed by fire in 1985.
