Germiston, also known as kwaDukathole, is a small city in the East Rand region of Gauteng, South Africa, administratively forming part of the City of Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality since the latter's establishment in 2000. It functions as the municipal seat of Ekurhuleni, hosting the municipal council and administration.

Germiston Stadium (formerly the Herman Immelman Stadium) is a multi-purpose stadium in Germiston, South Africa. It is currently used mostly for rugby matches and is the home stadium of Germiston Simmer Rugby Club . It is also used for inter-school athletics events and as a training venue for teams such as Bafana Bafana (the South African National Football Team) and the Lions. The stadium holds 18,000 people.

Rand Airport (IATA: QRA, ICAO: FAGM) is an airport in Germiston, South Africa. It was constructed in the 1920s as the main airport for Johannesburg, but the city outgrew it and replaced the airport with Palmietfontein Airport in 1948 (itself replaced by Jan Smuts International Airport in 1952).

WesBank Raceway was a motorsport facility situated at Germiston in the Gauteng province of South Africa. It was built on the site of a former horse racing track (Gosforth Park) opened in 2003. The facility featured an oval track, dragstrip, road circuit and motorcross track, allowing for a wide range of events. It was so named due to a sponsorship deal with the South African WesBank company. The track closed in November 2007 after the property was sold to developers.

Reiger Park is a coloured township situated in Boksburg in the Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality, Gauteng, South Africa. It was established as Stirtonville after the Second World War when people influxed from rural areas seeking work on the gold mines. In 1963, due to the apartheid government's policy of separate development, the Black people were moved to Vosloorus, the Indians to Actonville and the coloured people were left to stay in Stirtonville, then renamed to Reiger Park. The locals have given their own unofficial names to the different areas of Reiger Park, such as Jerusalem (due to the many churches in that area), Excuse Me (due to the houses being close together that neighbors say "bless you" when one sneezes), and Popcorn (a new area developed in the 1990s with homes popping up so fast that they were likened to popcorn). In 1997, the Popcorn area experienced violent rent boycotts. In 2008, it was one of the sites of violence during the anti-immigrant riots, beating and burning émigrés on streets described as "war zones".

Bedfordview is an affluent suburb in western Ekurhuleni, sharing an administrative boundary with the City of Johannesburg Metropolitan Municipality, Gauteng, South Africa. Bedfordview has been part of the City of Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality since 2000. The Eastgate Shopping Centre, one of the biggest in Africa when first built, is also located here.
