Germiston High School (established September 1917 ) is a South African English-medium government school based in Germiston. It is the second oldest high school in Germiston.

WesBank Raceway was a motorsport facility situated at Germiston in the Gauteng province of South Africa. It was built on the site of a former horse racing track (Gosforth Park) opened in 2003. The facility featured an oval track, dragstrip, road circuit and motorcross track, allowing for a wide range of events. It was so named due to a sponsorship deal with the South African WesBank company. The track closed in November 2007 after the property was sold to developers.

Rand Refinery (Pty) Limited is the largest integrated single-site precious metals refining and smelting complex in the world. It was established in 1920 to refine gold within South Africa which until that time had been refined in London.

Germiston Stadium (formerly the Herman Immelman Stadium) is a multi-purpose stadium in Germiston, South Africa. It is currently used mostly for rugby matches and is the home stadium of Germiston Simmer Rugby Club . It is also used for inter-school athletics events and as a training venue for teams such as Bafana Bafana (the South African National Football Team) and the Lions. The stadium holds 18,000 people.

Germiston, also known as kwaDukathole, is a small city in the East Rand region of Gauteng, South Africa, administratively forming part of the City of Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality since the latter's establishment in 2000. Hoërskool Alberton is a Dual-medium high school in Florentia, Alberton, South Africa. The school has approximately 800 learners.On Tuesday, Oct. 12, 1948, the books, furniture, and other supplies in use in the middle section of the Kruger School were transferred to the new junior high school in Alberton. The first principal, P.F. Erasmus, opened the school with nine teachers and 183 pupils. The school was officially opened on Feb. 24, 1949 by the Administrator of the Transvaal, Dr. W Nicol. In 1954, the junior high school became a full-fledged high school with ten pupils in standard ten. Improvements were made to the existing buildings in 1954 and 1959. From 1960 to 1975, Mr. J.J. le Roux was head of the school. From 1976 to August 1994 Dr. P. Krynauw was the principal. From August 1994 - 2016, Mr. H.J. Schoeman has served as principal. Since 2017, Mr. J Jordaan has taken over the reigns as principal

St Boniface Church is the mother church of the Anglican parish of Germiston, Gauteng which also includes the chapelries of St Mary and St John in Lambton, and St Mark in Rosedeep. The parish is part of the Diocese of the Highveld, which is in turn part of the Anglican Church of Southern Africa (previously known as The Church of the Province of Southern Africa).
