St. James Cathedral (Orlando, Florida)

The Diocese of Orlando (Latin: Dioecesis Orlandensis) is a Latin Church ecclesiastical territory or diocese of the Catholic Church in Florida. It encompasses about 9,611 square miles (24,890 km2) spanning Orange, Osceola, Seminole, Marion, Lake, Volusia, Brevard, Polk, and Sumter Counties in the state of Florida. In 2010, the diocese contained 81 parishes, 10 missions, and 37 schools. St. James Cathedral serves as the seat of the diocese. Within the diocese are two minor basilicas, Mary, Queen of the Universe Shrine, a basilica which ministers to Catholic tourists, and St. Paul's in Daytona Beach. In 2011, the estimated population was about 400,923 Catholics. There are 208 priests, 87 religious nuns, and 181 permanent deacons. Twenty-six men are studying for the priesthood.The current bishop is John Gerard Noonan. He took over effective October 24, 2010, having served previously as an Auxiliary Bishop of Miami, after the previous Bishop of Orlando, Thomas Wenski, was ordained to Archbishop of Miami. The Diocese of Orlando is a suffragan diocese in the ecclesiastical province of the metropolitan Archdiocese of Miami.

The Cathedral Church of St. Luke is an Episcopal cathedral in Orlando, Florida, United States. It is the seat of the Diocese of Central Florida.

Aspire Building, also known as the One Eleven Building, is a 31-story office and residential building overlooking Lake Eola in Orlando, Florida. The building was completed in 2008 at a cost of US$80 million and is owned by Lincoln Orlando Holdings.Construction of the tower was announced in 2004. Dynetech Corporation had planned to occupy part of the building upon its completion and secured the naming rights as marquee tenant. By 2009, Dynetech Corporation was in bankruptcy and the building was renamed as the Aspire Building / One Eleven Building in 2013.

The Orange County Regional History Center is a private non-profit history museum located in downtown Orlando, Florida, United States. Located in the historic Orange County Courthouse, the five-story museum consists of exhibits presenting local and regional history starting from 12,000 years ago.

The Beacham Theatre is a cinema built in 1921 by Braxton Beacham Sr. in the city of Orlando, Florida. The current address of the theater is 46 North Orange Avenue, and it is located at the southwest corner of Orange Avenue and Washington Street. The building's current lack of impressive architecture is offset by its significant cultural history. The Beacham Theatre was considered an important contributing structure when the Downtown Orlando historic district was created in 1980 and the building was granted local landmark status in 1987.The Beacham was once part of the vaudeville circuit and hosted celebrity acts such as John Philip Sousa, the Ziegfeld Follies and W.C. Fields, whose signature was once visible inside a dressing room. In the eras of silent film and Classical Hollywood cinema, the Beacham was operated as a movie theater that used then-current state-of-the-art motion picture technology. The Beacham, as it is currently named, has since been used as a series of concert venues and nightclubs thus saving it from demolition. The Beacham Theatre was once home to the internationally recognized late-night underground discotheque Aahz, a notable early component of the US electronic dance music movement in the early 1990s.

The Angebilt Hotel is a hotel located in Orlando, Florida at 37 North Orange Avenue. Designed by architect Murray S. King, the 11-story building was built from 1921-1923 and opened on March 14, 1923. It was operated by Joseph Fenner Ange since the Angebilt's opening until May 1923 when he announced bankruptcy and left the hotel. But the next year, it was sold at public auction and re-opened. Then on February 27, 1983, it suffered a fire on the top 2 floors and was closed for renovations. Today, the Angebilt is now offices with bars and retail on the ground floor.

The Vue at Lake Eola is a residential skyscraper in Downtown Orlando. It is the third tallest building in the city, being only two feet shorter than Hyatt Regency Orlando and 15 feet (4.6 m) shorter than 200 South Orange. It houses 34 floors of condos and has penthouses on its top level. The penthouses have access to the balcony on the 36th floor roof of the building.

MyRadar is a free weather forecasting application developed by Andy Green and his Orlando, Florida-based company ACME AtronOmatic (ACME). Beginning operations in 2008, the app, for its first decade, ran solely on free government-provided weather and radar data. To publish improved predictions of ongoing weather unique to the app, the first of many personal satellites was launched by ACME for the app in 2019. The app received funding to improve its radar and imaging from the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), and the Office of Naval Research (ONR). ACME created a weather data satellite constellation named "Hyperspectral Orbital Remote Imaging Spectrometer" (HORIS), which utilizes machine learning and artificial intelligence (AI) to create a current weather map. With the introduction of additional features, including the detection of wildfires and illegal fishing, the app has more broadly become an environmental intelligence app since 2022. In 2024, the app partnered with the Total Traffic and Weather Network (TTWN) to provide traffic flow and incident data for users with paying subscriptions via CarPlay and Android Auto, becoming one of the first weather apps to do so.

The old Orange County Courthouse, located in Orlando, Florida, United States, serves as the home of the Historical Society of Central Florida and the Orange County Regional History Center. Constructed in 1927, the Courthouse stands in the vicinity of a number of previous judicial buildings. An earlier courthouse was built in 1892 and demolished in 1957. A Courthouse Annex was also constructed in 1960 which was demolished in 1998 because of asbestos.

The St. George Antiochian Orthodox Church is an Antiochian Orthodox church across from Lake Eola, in Orlando, Florida. The church building was originally the First Church of Christ, Scientist. Originally built in 1927, the building was added to the National Register of Historic Places on June 3, 1980. The Church of Christ, Scientist congregation now holds services at 915 North Ferncreek.

The Orange County Library System (OCLS) is a public library system located in the Orlando area of Central Florida. Its headquarters are located in the Orlando Public Library in Downtown Orlando. The System is made up of 15 total locations, one main library (Orlando Public Library) and 14 branch locations. In 2020, the library system employed over 350 staff throughout the system, serving more than one million Orange County residents. The Orange County Library System is a 501(c)3 organization. The library system is led by its Chief Executive Officer Steve Powell and a five-member Library Board of Trustees.

Trinity Lutheran School is a Lutheran Child Development Center in Orlando, Florida, in the United States. Founded in 1953, the school provides childcare services from infancy through PreK-4, and is a ministry of Trinity Downtown. It is a fully accredited school recognized by the National Lutheran School Accreditation of the Lutheran Church–Missouri Synod.Trinity's Child Development Center serves children 6 weeks old through VPK-4.
