James A. Thomas Farm is a historic home and farm located near Pittsboro, Chatham County, North Carolina. The house consist of a one-story frame cabin, perhaps constructed during the late 1860s or early 1870s, with a rear shed and a two-story, vernacular Greek Revival style wing added in the early 1880s. Also on the property are several contributing log, weatherboard and board-and-batten outbuildings.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1985.

Ebenezer Methodist Church is a historic church located near Bells, Chatham County, North Carolina. It is located on the west side of SR 1008, about 0.5 miles (0.80 km) north of its junction with SR 1975. It is a modest single-story wood-frame structure, with a steeply-pitched metal gable roof and weatherboard siding. It has Gothic Revival features, including a tower with Gothic-arched entrance openings. The sanctuary's windows, doors, and interior woodworking are original to the structure. It was built about 1890, for a Methodist congregation established in 1827.The building listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1985.

New Hope River is a 12.19-mile-long (19.62 km) fifth-order tributary to the Haw River in Chatham County, North Carolina. This river is now entirely flooded as part of B. Everett Jordan Lake. All of the tributaries to the river are present as arms of the lake. New Hope River contributes 21.8% of the total water discharge for the Haw River.

B. Everett Jordan Lake is a reservoir in New Hope Valley, west of Cary and south of Durham in Chatham County, North Carolina, in the United States; the northernmost end of the lake extends into southwestern Durham County. Part of the Jordan Lake State Recreation Area, the reservoir covers 13,940 acres (5,640 ha) with a shoreline of 180 miles (290 km) at its standard water level of 216 feet (66 m) above sea level. It was developed as part of a flood control project prompted by a particularly damaging tropical storm that hit the region downstream in September 1945. Constructed at an original cost of US$146,300,000, it is owned and operated by the United States Army Corps of Engineers, which dammed and flooded the Haw River and New Hope River between 1973 and 1983.

The main feature of Wilsonville is the Jordan Lake State Recreation Area and several nearby public beaches and campgrounds, including Ebeneezer Beach, Seaforth Beach, and Crosswinds, Parker's Creek, Poplar Point, and Vista Point campgrounds. Five miles southeast is the unincorporated community of New Hill.
