The Turkish Air Force Academy (TuAFA) (Turkish: Hava Harp Okulu) is a four-year co-educational military academy located in the city of Istanbul, Turkey. It is part of the National Defence University. It is the main human resource for the Turkish Air Force Command. It was founded in 1951, replacing the Army Flight School, with the mandate to train the officers of the Turkish Air Force. The academy provides an engineering education to Air Force cadets from Turkey as well as a number of other countries, and prepares them for careers in their respective Air Forces. TuAFA is recognized by the Turkish Council of Higher Education, as a university accredited to grant engineering degrees. It should not be confused with the Air War College (Hava Harp Enstitüsü). Since 1992, the academy has accepted female cadets and allied countries' cadets for enrolment. Accepting cadets not only from Turkey but from all over the world makes this college unique. Yeşilköy Feneri is a historical lighthouse still in use located on the northern coast of Sea of Marmara at Yeşilyurt neighborhood (once part of Yeşilköy) in Istanbul's Bakırköy district, Turkey.

Yeşilköy (Turkish pronunciation: [jeˈʃilcœj]; meaning "Green Village"; prior to 1926, San Stefano or Santo Stefano Greek: Άγιος Στέφανος, romanized: Ágios Stéfanos, Turkish: Ayastefanos) is an affluent neighbourhood (Turkish: mahalle) in the district of Bakırköy, Istanbul, Turkey, on the Marmara Sea about 11 kilometres (7 mi) west of Istanbul's historic city centre. Prior to the rapid increase of Istanbul's population in the 1970s, Yeşilköy was a secluded village and sea resort.

The Istanbul Aviation Museum, a.k.a. Turkish Air Force Museum, (Turkish: Havacılık Müzesi or Hava Kuvvetleri Müzesi) is a military-based museum for aviation, owned and operated by the Turkish Air Force. The museum is located in Yeşilköy neighborhood of Bakırköy district in Istanbul, Turkey. The area of the museum is 65,000 m2 (700,000 sq ft) The museum not only presents various warplanes, helicopters and weapons used by the Turkish Air Force, but also civilian air transport and many samples of Turkish aeronautics history, starting from the Ottoman era.

The Mor Ephrem Syriac Orthodox Church (Turkish: İstanbul Mor Efrem Süryani Kadim Ortodoks Kilisesi, Syriac: ܥܕܬܐ ܕܡܪܝ ܐܦܪܝܡ ܕܣܘܪ̈ܝܝܐ ܩܕ̈ܡܝܐ ܐܪ̈ܬܕܘܟܣܝܐ, romanized: ʿIdto d-Mor ʾAp̄rem d-Suryoye Qamoye ʾOrṯodoksoye) is a Syriac Orthodox church in Yeşilköy on the European part of Istanbul. Opened in 2023, it is the first church built since the foundation of the Republic of Turkey. It is dedicated to Ephrem the Syrian.

World Trade Center Istanbul (WTCI) (Turkish: İstanbul Dünya Ticaret Merkezi, İDTM) is a service company established in 1982 and based in Yeşilköy, Istanbul, Turkey, which, to promote international commerce and world trade, provides commercial information and market research services, organizes trade delegation programs, operates fair areas and offers office, convention and meeting halls, runs hotels within its organization. It is owned by Istanbul Chamber of Commerce, Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey, Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, Bakırköy Municipality, Istanbul Chamber of Industry, Istanbul Commodity Exchange as well as Economic Development Foundation of Turkey.The complex of World Trade Center Istanbul covers an area of 500,000 m2 (120 acres) situated next to the Atatürk International Airport. It has a subway station and a vast parking lot for 6,000 cars in total.

Atatürk Havalimanı is the western terminal station on the M1A line of the Istanbul Metro. The station services Atatürk International Airport in Istanbul, which was the primary international gateway in Turkey. Atatürk Havalimanı was opened on 20 December 2002, along with DTM—İstanbul Fuar Merkezi, when the M1A (then just M1) was extended west of Yenibosna to the airport. The station is located next to the international terminal and is linked to the domestic terminal via a walkway. As a result of the closing of Atatürk International Airport for commercial passenger traffic and its replacement by a new airport northwest of the city in April 2019, the station no longer receives passenger traffic. It will continue to serve the airport in its remaining functions, including business flights, cargo, and general aviation; and the area surrounding the airport. The M11, which will connect the new airport to the rest of the metro system, will not open until 2020 at the earliest.

Ataköy is a quarter of Bakırköy district in Istanbul Province, Turkey. It was developed as one of the first examples of satellite-city projects in Turkey. Ataköy is located in Bakırköy district on the European side of Istanbul. It is adjacent to Bahçelievler district and Şirinevler neighborhood. The area in the then outskirt of Istanbul City, which Ataköy today covers, belonged to the Turkish military, and was called Baruthane (literally: gunpowder magazine). In the 1950s, the government of Prime Minister Adnan Menderes (in office (1950–1960) transferred the property to the state-owned realty business bank Emlak Bank for envelopment as a satellite city of affordable housing for middle income households. In 1956, the project started with the construction of a beach site. The residence area was named "Ataköy" (literally "Atatürkville"). The project included 12,000 apartments, three hotels, beach, clubs, shopping malls, cultural center and sports facilities.Ataköy quarter consists of four neighborhoods with eleven sections of apartment blocks. The quarter is a peaceful residential area with wide green zones. The neighborhoods in the quarter are the Ataköy 1st Section, the 2nd-5th-6th Section, the 3rd-4th-11th Section and the 7th-8th-9th-10th Section. The 9th and 10th Sections were developed in 1986, and the 7th and 8th Sections were completed in 1990. In the recent years, some construction companies built residence blocks around the existing apartment blocks.Following facilities are situated in Ataköy: Yunus Emre Cultural Center, Conservatoty of Bakırköy Municipality, Ataköy Marina, Atrium Shopping Mall, Galleria Ataköy and Ataköy A Plus Shopping Mall, Sinan Erdem Dome, Ataköy Athletics Arena.

Bakırköy is a neighbourhood, municipality and district on the European side of Istanbul, Turkey. The quarter is densely populated, has a residential character and is inhabited by an upper middle class population. The municipality of Bakırköy is much larger than the quarter and also includes several other neighbourhoods, such as Yeşilköy, Yeşilyurt, Ataköy. Bakırköy lies between the D.100 highway (locally known as E-5) and the coast of the Sea of Marmara. Bakırköy has a large psychiatric hospital called "Bakırköy Ruh ve Sinir Hastalıkları Hastanesi", and is an important shopping and commercial center.

Atatürk Airport (IATA: ISL, ICAO: LTBA) (former IATA code: IST) (Turkish: Atatürk Havalimanı) is a general aviation airport in Istanbul. It used to be an intercontinental passenger and cargo hub and closed to commercial passenger flights on 6 April 2019 when all flights were transferred to the new Istanbul Airport. All freight operations subsequently relocated as well by 5 February 2022.
