Gazimestan

The Gazimestan speech (Serbo-Croatian: Govor na Gazimestanu / Говор на Газиместану) was given on 28 June 1989 by Slobodan Milošević, then president of Serbia, at the Gazimestan monument on the Kosovo field. It was the centrepiece of a day-long event to mark the 600th anniversary of the Battle of Kosovo, which was fought at the site in 1389. The speech was delivered to a crowd of an estimated million or more attendees, and came against a backdrop of protracted ethnic tension between ethnic Serbs and Albanians in Kosovo and increasing political tensions between SR Serbia and the other constituent republics of the then SFR Yugoslavia caused by the anti-bureaucratic revolution. The speech has since become notorious for Milošević's reference to the possibility of "armed battles", in the future of Serbia's national development. Many foreign commentators have described this as presaging the collapse of Yugoslavia and the eventual Yugoslav Wars. Milošević later claimed that he had been misrepresented.

The Sunny Hill Festival is an annual international music festival in Pristina, Kosovo, organised by English and Albanian singer Dua Lipa and her father Dukagjin Lipa. It has established itself as the largest music festival in Kosovo.

The Tomb of Murad I (Albanian: Tyrbja e Sulltan Muratit; Turkish: Sultan I. Murad Türbesi, also known as Meşhed-i Hüdâvendigâr) is a mausoleum (türbe) dedicated to the Ottoman Sultan Murad I located in the Prishtina District, Kosovo. Murad I (nicknamed Hüdavendigâr, meaning the "God-liked one" or the "sovereign" in this context) was killed in the Battle of Kosovo in 1389. The monument was built in the 14th century by Murad I's son Bayezid I, becoming the first example of Ottoman architecture in the Kosovo territory. His internal organs were buried in Kosovo field and remain to this day in the tomb at the site. Murad's other remains were taken to Bursa, his Anatolian birthplace, and buried there in his second tomb at the Hüdavendigâr complex in Bursa.The monument was mentioned by Evliya Çelebi in 1660. The tomb has gained a religious significance for the local Muslims.

Murad I (Ottoman Turkish: مراد اول; Turkish: I. Murad), nicknamed Hüdavendigâr (from Persian: خداوندگار, romanized: Khodāvandgār, lit. 'the devotee of God' – meaning "sovereign" in this context; 29 June 1326 – 15 June 1389) was the sultan of the Ottoman Empire from 1362 to 1389. He was the son of Orhan Gazi and Nilüfer Hatun. Murad I came into the throne after his elder brother Süleyman Pasha's death. Murad I conquered Adrianople, renamed it to Edirne, and in 1363 made it the new capital of the Ottoman Sultanate. Then he further expanded the Ottoman realm in Southern Europe by bringing most of the Balkans under Ottoman rule, and forced the princes of Serbia and Bulgaria as well as the Byzantine emperor John V Palaiologos to pay him tribute. Murad I administratively divided his sultanate into the two provinces of Anatolia (Asia Minor) and Rumelia (the Balkans).

The Ministry of Defence (Albanian: Ministria e Mbrojtjes) is a department of the government of Kosovo responsible for the defence policy and management of the Kosovo Security Force. The ministry has its headquarters in Pristina, with Ejup Maqedonci as the incumbent defence minister in the second cabinet of Albin Kurti.

The Embassy of the United States in Pristina is the diplomatic mission of the United States of America in Kosovo.

Pristina railway station (Albanian: Stacioni i trenit në Prishtinë; Serbian: Приштинска железничка станица / Prištinska železnička stanica) is the central railway station in the city of Pristina, the capital of Kosovo. It opened on Tirana Boulevard (formerly 'Omladinskih Brigada') in 1936, having been constructed by a French/British company. Trains calling at the station are operated by Trainkos sh.a. The line on which the station sits is single-track, laid to standard gauge, but there is a loop at the station, allowing trains to pass there, with a second, parallel, loop lying out-of-use as of October 2016. A daily international train runs between Pristina and Skopje (Shkup), in North Macedonia. Pristina is also served by the larger Kosovo Polje railway station at nearby Fushë Kosovë.

Llapi Mosque (Albanian: Xhamia e Llapit) or Ramadan Mosque (Xhamia Ramadanie) is a mosque located in the northern part of the old city center (Old Bazaar) of Pristina, Kosovo.

Kosovo A Power Station is a lignite-fired power station with five units in Obiliq, Kosovo. With a capacity of 650 MW, it is the second largest power station in Kosovo after Kosovo B Power Station. It is described to be the worst single-point source of pollution in Europe. Despite plans to shut the units down in 2017, it was still partially operating as of March 2025.

The Fadil Vokrri Stadium (Albanian: Stadiumi Fadil Vokrri), previously known as Pristina City Stadium (Albanian: Stadiumi i qytetit të Prishtinës), is a multi-purpose stadium in Pristina, Kosovo, which is used mostly for football matches and is the home ground of FK Priština and the Serbia national football team. The stadium has a capacity of 13,980.
