Millvale is a borough in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, along the Allegheny River, opposite Pittsburgh. The borough is located off Pennsylvania Route 28. The population was 3,744 at the 2010 census.

Girtys Run is a tributary of the Allegheny River located in Allegheny County in the U.S. state of Pennsylvania.It is named after the Girty family who settled in the area. Some say it was named for John Girty. Others say it was named for Thomas Girty, brother of the famous renegade Simon Girty.

St. Nicholas Croatian Church is a Roman Catholic church in Millvale, Pennsylvania, USA within the Diocese of Pittsburgh. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It is noted for its murals by Maxo Vanka, painted in 1937 and 1941, such as Immigrant Mother Raises Her Sons for American Industry and The Capitalist. Time in 1937 described the murals as "one of the few distinguished sets of church murals in the U. S."St. Nicholas remains an active parish church in the Diocese of Pittsburgh as of 2022. In 2019 it was reorganized as a personal (non-territorial) parish within the Shrines of Pittsburgh, a grouping of six churches with unique histories which the diocese hoped to promote as pilgrimage and visitor destinations.

The Washington Crossing Bridge, commonly known as the Fortieth Street Bridge, is an arch bridge that carries vehicular traffic across the Allegheny River between the Pittsburgh neighborhood of Lawrenceville and the suburb of Millvale.

The Consolidated Ice Company Factory No. 2 was built in 1907 in the Lawrenceville neighborhood of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The site includes a two-story office building and an ice manufacturing plant. The factory was closed in 1951.The site was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2000.

Mount Alvernia High School was a private, all-girls, Roman Catholic high school in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; it is within the Diocese of Pittsburgh. The school was closed in June 2011 due to declining enrollment.

Allegheny was the first county in Pennsylvania to be given a Native American name. It was named after the Lenape word for the Allegheny River. The meaning of "Allegheny" is uncertain. It is usually said to mean "fine river". Stewart says that the name may come from a Lenape account of an ancient mythical tribe called "Allegewi", who lived along the river before being taken over by the Lenape.

The Walton House is a historic building in the Lawrenceville neighborhood of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. A designated Pittsburgh historic landmark, the house and its neighboring structures exemplify the form and scale of buildings constructed in Lawrenceville during the post Civil War era.

WAOB (860 kHz) is an AM radio station licensed to Millvale, Pennsylvania and serving Greater Pittsburgh. It is owned by St. Joseph Ministries and carries a Catholic talk and teaching radio format. Some shows are locally produced in cooperation with the Diocese of Pittsburgh and some are from EWTN Radio. The studios and offices are on Ligonier Street in Latrobe, Pennsylvania. For 50 years, the station had served Pittsburgh's African-American community as WAMO (now on AM 660). By day, WAOB transmits with 1,000 watts, but because 860 AM is a clear channel frequency reserved for CJBC Toronto, WAOB must reduce power at night to 830 watts to avoid interference. It uses a directional antenna at all times. Programming is simulcast on 106.7 WAOB-FM in Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania, and WPGR 1510 AM in Monroeville, Pennsylvania.

WZUM is a jazz radio station serving the Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, market. The station broadcasts on 1550 kHz with a power of 1,000 watts daytime (4 watts at night) from studios in South Park, Pennsylvania, and is licensed to Braddock, Pennsylvania.

The Turney House is a historic house in the Lawrenceville neighborhood of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and a designated Pittsburgh historic landmark. It was built circa 1851 by Lucian B. Turney, a carpenter who also served on the Lawrenceville Borough Council during the 1850s. It was also the residence of Turney's daughter Margaret, who at age 17 was one of 78 workers killed in the 1862 Allegheny Arsenal Explosion, the deadliest civilian disaster during the U.S. Civil War. After the demolition of 184 38th Street in 2011, the Turney House is the only surviving house known to be associated with a victim of the explosion. Another one of Turney's children, Olive, became a successful artist. In 1996, the house was purchased by architectural historian Carol Peterson, who restored it to a period-appropriate appearance.

The Carol Peterson House is located at 172 46th Street in the Lawrenceville neighborhood of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The house was built in 1886–1887 in the Italianate architectural style, and is named after the architectural historian, Carol Peterson.
