Sheridan Park Historic District

The Malden Towers are a historic apartment building at 4521 N. Malden Street in the Uptown neighborhood of Chicago, Illinois. The building was built in 1928–29, shortly before the Great Depression ended Chicago's prolific apartment construction of the early twentieth century. Architect N. T. Ronneberg designed the building in the style of a medieval Spanish castle. Ronneberg's design features a brick and terra cotta exterior with turrets at the front corners, arched first-floor windows, painted ornamental elements such as shields and fasces, and a parapet with battlements. The building thrived and attracted wealthy tenants despite the impending Depression, and in later years Bob Hope was rumored to be a resident.The building was added to the National Register of Historic Places on December 8, 1983.

Ravenswood is a neighborhood located on the North Side of the city of Chicago, Illinois. Lacking designation as one of Chicago's 77 well-defined community areas, it is mostly situated in the Lincoln Square community area, with the portion east of Ravenswood Avenue and the Chicago & Northwestern/Union Pacific North Line railroad tracks being situated in the Uptown community area. Ravenswood was founded in 1868 as an exclusive commuter suburb by a group of real-estate speculators. These speculators formed the Ravenswood Land Company and purchased 194 acres of farmland and woods eight miles north of Chicago. The woods supported a population of ravens. Ravenswood is known for its courtyard-style residential buildings. Once considered an "up and coming" neighborhood, Ravenswood has seen its real estate values skyrocket since the 1990s.

Harry S. Truman College, (called Truman College and formerly called Mayfair College), is a part of City Colleges of Chicago. It offers multiple 2-year associate degrees, as well as occupational training in a number of fields. Located at 1145 West Wilson Avenue in the Uptown neighborhood, the school was named in honor of U.S. President Harry S. Truman, nominated for the vice presidency in the 1944 Democratic National Convention at the Chicago Stadium. Nominated to join the Franklin D. Roosevelt Democratic ticket, Truman was a proponent of public colleges and universities. Truman is the largest of the City Colleges of Chicago with a yearly enrollment of over 23,000 students, and has the largest English as a second language and GED program in Illinois.

The Carrie Eliza Getty Tomb, located in Graceland Cemetery in Chicago, Illinois, United States, was commissioned in 1890 by the lumber baron, Henry Harrison Getty, for his wife, Carrie Eliza. It was designed by the noted American architect, Louis Sullivan of the firm Adler & Sullivan. Getty became familiar with Sullivan's work from the architect's various Loop projects as well as from the mausoleum (also in Graceland) Sullivan designed for Getty's late partner, Martin Ryerson.

The Green Mill Cocktail Lounge (or Green Mill Jazz Club) is an entertainment venue on Broadway in Uptown, Chicago. It is known for its jazz and poetry performances, along with its connections to Chicago mob history.

The Buddhist Temple of Chicago (BTC) was founded in October 1944 by Gyomay Kubose, a minister of the Higashi Honganji branch of the Jōdo Shinshū ("True Pure Land School") sect, along with several laypeople who had been released from the Japanese American internment camps. Although the temple is administratively independent, the teaching lineage reflects the progressive Jōdo Shinshū thought of Manshi Kiyozawa and his student, Haya Akegarasu, who was Kubose's teacher. The temple was originally called the Chicago Buddhist Church and was located in the Hyde Park neighborhood on Chicago's south side. In the mid-1950s, the temple relocated to the Uptown neighborhood on the north side. In 2006, the temple dedicated its new building.The membership base continues to be Japanese American, but from early in the temple's history the number of non-Japanese members has steadily increased. Today the active membership includes a diversity of Asian, European, Latino and African ethnicities.

The Sheridan Trust and Savings Bank Building, currently known as the Bridgeview Bank Building, is a 12-story terra cotta building at 4753 North Broadway Avenue in Uptown, Chicago. The first eight floors of the structure were built in 1924 by Marshall and Fox. Huszagh and Hill added a four-story addition in 1928. The City of Chicago granted the structure Chicago Landmark status on October 8, 2008.The building's original tenant, the Sheridan Trust and Savings Bank, failed in 1931. Uptown National Bank began using the building in 1937. The bank and the building were acquired by Bridgeview Bank in 2003. In 2018, Bridgeview Bank was acquired by First Midwest Bank in a merger, but the building retained its name.The building is home to a number of non-profit organizations and social service agencies, which have served low-income, immigrant, and refugee communities in the Uptown area. In 2019, the building was bought by the real estate developer Cedar Street, with plans to convert most of the building into residential units.

The Uptown Broadway Building is a historic three-story building at 4703–4715 North Broadway in Uptown, Chicago. Built in 1926, it was designed by Walter W. Ahlschlager and is known for its ornate terra-cotta facade, depicting ancient gods, rams' heads, shields, helmets, birds, fruits, and trophies. Lynn Becker of the Chicago Reader has called the exterior "a riotous, Spanish-baroque-inspired hallucination". According to unconfirmed local legends, Al Capone operated a speakeasy in the building's basement.The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1986. It is also listed as part of the Uptown Square Historic District.On December 31, 2013, the Kiss Kiss Cabaret announced they have chosen it for their new location.
