Gadgirth Old Ha'

The Castle and Barony of Gadgirth was held by the Chalmer family, originally De Camera, with successive castles and a mansion house overlooking the River Ayr at the border of the Parish of Coylton, the old district of Kyle, now part of South Ayrshire, Scotland.

Annbank is a village in South Ayrshire, Scotland. It is around five miles east of Ayr. Originally a mining settlement, it once had a rail link to Ayr via the Auchincruive Waggonway. The village has a village hall, bakery, shop, bowling green, junior football club (Annbank United) and a pub. The pub is known as "Tap o'the Brae" which in May 2014 won Ayrshire pub of the year. Weston Bridge Halt railway station was located at the bridge of that name near Annbank and stood close to Ayr Colliery No.9. It was used by miners travelling to their respective collieries. Annbank House once overlooked the River Ayr and Gadgirth Holm however it was demolished after use as a hotel. Gadgirth Old Ha' stood on the River Ayr close to Privick Mill and the old Gadgirth House. The Castle and Barony of Gadgirth was once located beside the River Ayr to the east of Annbank.

Sundrum Castle is a Scottish medieval castle located 1.5 kilometres (0.93 mi) north of Coylton, South Ayrshire, by the Water of Coyle river. It was built in the 14th century for Sir Duncan Wallace, Sheriff of Ayr. The castle was inherited by Sir Alan de Cathcart, who was the son of Duncan's sister. The Cathcarts sold Sundrum in the 18th century, where it eventually fell into the possession of the Hamilton family. The Hamiltons expanded the castle in the 1790s, incorporating the original keep into a mansion. The castle was further expanded in the early 20th century by Ernest Coats. For a time it was a hotel, but fell into disrepair. It became a category B listed building in 1971. After extensive renovations in the 1990s, it was split into several privately owned properties.

Annbank United Football Club are a Scottish football club from Annbank, South Ayrshire. Formed in 1939, they are based at New Pebble Park and are nicknamed "The Bankies". Prior to abeyance, they competed in the West of Scotland League Second Division and wear black and white strips (uniforms). The club reached the final of the 1952–53 Scottish Junior Cup, losing 1–0 to Vale of Leven in front of 55,800 spectators at Hampden Park. Annbank had required thirteen matches to negotiate the seven rounds to the final.In June 2016, Annbank appointed Graeme Neil and Tom Robertson of the Ayr United Football Academy as their new management team. The duo had worked the previous season at Lugar Boswell Thistle, bringing Ayr's pro-youth players into an adult game environment. On 14 May 2021 Annbank announced on their Twitter account that they would suspend their participation in the newly formed West of Scotland Football League for season 2021-22 whilst retaining full membership, but hoped to return in the next season. In the interim, the club started in the Ayrshire Amateur Division 2A (Winners 2021/22) & are now in Division 1A for Season 2022/23. They continue to play out of New Pebble Park.

Weston Bridge Platform railway station or Weston Bridge Halt railway station was opened to serve miners travelling to the Ayr Colliery No. 9 Pit that stood near Annbank and those from the village that worked at other pits in the area, East Ayrshire, Scotland. The station was on the line that was originally part of the Ayr and Cumnock Branch of the Glasgow and South Western Railway. The location was well chosen as it lay close to the village, the hamlet of Burnbrae and at the busy crossroads at Weston Bridge.

Lochend Loch, which once had nearly three acres in surface area is now only a small freshwater loch remnant. It lies in the South Ayrshire Council Area, lying on the hill above Joppa, between Gallowhill and Lochend Farm.

Coylton (Scots: Culton) is a village and civil parish in South Ayrshire, Scotland. It is five miles (eight kilometres) east of Ayr and 2+1⁄2 miles (4 kilometres) west of Drongan, on the A70. Sundrum Castle Holiday Park is to the west of the village, in the grounds of Sundrum Castle, which partly dates to the 13th century. A rocking stone stands atop the Craigs of Kyle near Coylton. It weighs about 30 tons and rests upon two stones. A large standing stone known as Wallace's Stone stands nearby. The village is also home to a parish church of the Gothic style, built in 1832.

Joppa is a former hamlet in South Ayrshire, Scotland, about one mile (1.5 kilometres) which now forms the eastern portion of the built-up part of Coylton, situated about one mile (1.5 kilometres) east of Belston, on the A70 road.Its houses stood in isolation – with the separate hamlets then known as 'Coylton' (nowadays Low Coylton, with little more than a farm, the Coylton Arms pub and the old church cemetery) situated to the south-east, and 'New Coylton' (now referred to as Hillhead, including the replacement parish church) further to the east along the main road – until the mid 20th century, when housebuilding immediately to the north-west in the Arthurston area of the parish led to Joppa becoming part of an expanding Coylton locality from then on. Footballer Archie Hunter was born in Joppa in 1859. Lochend Loch lies above Joppa near to Lochend Farm and Gallowhill.

Annbank railway station was a railway station serving the villages of Annbank and Mossblown, South Ayrshire, Scotland. The station was part of the Ayr to Mauchline Branch of the Glasgow and South Western Railway.

Mossblown is a village in South Ayrshire, Scotland, a little larger than neighbouring Annbank. It was a coal mining community but the mines have been closed for some time now. There is a book available written by a local historian entitled 'Old Annbank and Mossblown' which provides more written and pictorial information about the village. Most recently (2010–11), the population of the village has grown, with new housing, both private and council, being added to the village's north-east boundary on the B743, the Ayr to Mauchline road. This is the third latest expansion in housing development since a private housing scheme was built in Mossblown's south-eastern quarter in the 1990s, adjacent to the old Annbank Church (and cemetery which serves the populations of both Mossblown and Annbank). More recently there have been expansions to the north eastern part of the village, including the newest development Limekiln Wynd and slightly older Johnston drive. It had an estimated population of 2,100 in 2020

Drumley House School was a private preparatory school in Mossblown, Ayrshire, Scotland, a few miles from the town of Ayr.Drumley House School was established in 1960. In 1995 the school announced that they would be merging with Wellington School, Ayr. The school closed its site in Mossblown in June 1996 with the Junior School of Wellington School renamed as Drumley House.In 2013, Drumley House was demolished. As of April 2013, there is no planning consent to develop the site.

Auchincruive is a former country house and estate in South Ayrshire, Scotland. It is located 4 kilometres (2.5 mi) east of Ayr, on the north bank of the River Ayr. Auchincruive House was built in the 18th century on the site of an earlier mansion. In 1927, the estate became the West of Scotland College of Agriculture, and the house was renamed Oswald Hall. The college became the Scottish Agricultural College in 1990. In 2007 the college announced that the site would be disposed of for redevelopment, and masterplan proposals were approved by South Ayrshire Council in January 2011. The house is protected as a category A listed building, along with other buildings on the estate. The estate is included on the Inventory of Gardens and Designed Landscapes in Scotland, the national listing of significant gardens. The house was returned to its original name of Auchincruive House in May of 2020, the listed building records have also been updated to reflect this.
