Starbank School is a co-educational all-through school. The school is located over three sites that are close to the boundaries of Bordesley Green, Small Heath, and Yardley in Birmingham, West Midlands, England.Originally a primary school for pupils aged up to 11, Starbank School started accepting secondary school age pupils in September 2014. The school had a full age range of pupils ages 4 to 16 from September 2018. The school is located over three sites. The original site on Starbank Road houses primary school age pupils, as does the newest site on Bierton Road. The site on Hob Moor Road was relocated to a new site on the same road in September 2016 and this new site accommodates primary school age pupils as well as secondary school age pupils. Previously a community school administered by Birmingham City Council, in October 2020 Starbank School converted to academy status. The school is now sponsored by Star Academies.

The Birmingham EcoPark is an environmental education centre in the Small Heath area of Birmingham, England, operated by the Wildlife Trust for Birmingham and the Black Country. Each year there are thousands of visitors to the site. EcoPark offers opportunities for families, schools and local residents of all ages to get hands on with nature.

St Benedict's Church, Bordesley is a Church of England parish church in Hob Moor Road, Bordesley, West Midlands, England, about 2+1⁄2 miles (4 km) east of Birmingham city centre. It is an early 20th-century church in Byzantine Revival style and is Grade II listed.

St Cyprian's Church, Hay Mills is a parish church of the Church of England in Hay Mills, Birmingham, England. It is situated on the southern side of the main Birmingham to Coventry Road A45 at the end of a lane called the Fordrough that leads to the factory of Webster & Horsfall Ltd. It has long been associated with the Horsfall family who built the church and continue to be its owners. Built in the 19th century of red brick in the Gothic Revival style it is dedicated to St Cyprian the third century martyr and Bishop of Carthage who although coming from a wealthy background gave away a portion of his wealth to the poor of Carthage, he was beheaded by the Romans in 258. The church is now Grade II listed.

Hay Hall is a former 15th century hall located at Tyseley, in Birmingham, West Midlands, England. The extensive Hay Hall estate was situated between the Coventry and Warwick roads and included an area now known as Hay Mills, which was the site of a water mill. In the 16th century the timber-framed building was encased in brick. Originally a sub manor of the Este family, the building form comprised a central open hall with cross-wings at either end. There are no traces of the original moat in the area, with the modern surroundings currently developed as factories and works, known as Hay Hall Business Park. It was listed Grade II in 1952.

It is in the Bordesley Green Ward which also covers some of Small Heath. Heartlands Hospital is located in the eastern part of Bordesley Green. The area is also served by Yardley Green Medical Centre and Omnia Practice. Kingfisher Country Park covers the River Cole recreation grounds which are partially covered by the area's boundaries. Bordesley Green has a larger Eastern European community including Romanians, Poles, and Russians settling in the area, but it is still predominantly South Asian.

Hay Mills is an area of east Birmingham, England straddling the A45 Coventry Road about 3 miles (5 km) south east of the city centre. North of the Coventry Road is mainly residential whereas the south is mixed residential and commercial. The area was subsumed into Birmingham in 1911.
