St Ann's Church, Radipole

St Aldhelm's Church is a Church of England church in Radipole, Weymouth, Dorset, England. It was designed by William Henry Randoll Blacking and built in 1939–41, with later additions.

Radipole Lake is a lake on the River Wey, now in the English coastal town of Weymouth, Dorset, once in Radipole, the village and parish of the same name. Along the western shore of the lake, and between Radipole and the town centre of Weymouth, now lies the modern suburb of Southill. The lake is a nature reserve run by the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds, as it is an important habitat for reedbed birds. The Wild Weymouth Discovery Centre at Radipole Lake features nature and bird exhibits and programs, trails and viewing blinds. The lake flows into Weymouth Harbour.

It was developed on the western shore of Radipole Lake in several phases from the 1960s onwards. At its centre lay a post office, confusingly and wrongly named South Hill Post Office, but this closed in January 2007. There is a small shopping centre, a community centre, a church and a pub, the John Gregory. A primary school was built to serve the new estate in the 1970s. Southill is part of the parish of Radipole, the hill itself coming between Radipole and Weymouth..

As a specialist sports college the school offered a wide sporting curriculum and held the responsibility of leading the west Dorset School Sports Partnership. The school was also highly involved in outdoor education and runs many trips and activities and is a key contributor to Leading Edge Expeditions linked to the Dorset Expeditionary Society.

In 1905 Sir Frederick Treves noted that the spa was "deserted" and "no longer rings with the laughter and jests of the seekers after appetite", but described the still-existing pump room as "an octagonal building of three stories, with something of the aspect of an enormous dove-cot." The pump room still stands today, and is known as The Spa House.

St Nicholas' Church is a Church of England church in Broadwey, Dorset, England. It has Norman origins, but most of the existing church dates from 19th century work. St Nicholas' was the parish church of Broadwey until 1933 when the village became a suburb of Weymouth.The church became Grade II listed in 1953. A number of 19th century chest tombs and headstones in the churchyard are also Grade II listed, including those of the Firth, Melchior, Beale, Bartlett and Nicholson families. A World War I memorial is also located in the churchyard.
