Bedwellty Pits Halt railway station

Cefn Manmoel is the name given to the broad ridge of high ground between the Sirhowy Valley and Ebbw Vale in the Valleys region of South Wales. It straddles the boundary between the unitary areas of Caerphilly and Blaenau Gwent. The NNW-SSE aligned ridge achieves a height of 504 metres (1,654 ft) above sea-level at OS grid ref SO 166072. To the south it drops away to a broad saddle southeast of the village of Manmoel, beyond which lies Mynydd Pen-y-fan. Parts of both its eastern and western flanks are afforested with conifer plantations such as at Coed y Rhyd and at Coed y Llanerch.

Mynydd Bedwellte is the name given to the broad ridge of high ground between the Rhymney Valley (Welsh: Cwm Rhymni) and the Sirhowy Valley in the Valleys region of South Wales. It straddles the boundary of the unitary areas of Caerphilly and Blaenau Gwent. The broad-topped ridge runs northwest to southeast and achieves a summit height of 486 metres (1,594 ft) above sea-level, at a point crowned by a trig point at OS grid ref SO 145060.

The Bedwellty Union Workhouse was situated in Georgetown, Tredegar. It is 2.9 miles (4.7 km) from the Nanybwtch Junction A465. The building was in existence for approximately 127 years. The workhouse building was also used as a hospital. Today, the site where the building once stood, there is a housing estate known as St James Park.

Tredegar Town Football Club are a football club based in Tredegar, in Wales. The club plays in the Ardal Leagues South East, the third tier of the Welsh football pyramid.

Georgetown is a village in the Sirhowy Valley in Blaenau Gwent. It belongs in the ward of Georgetown.It is located 0.59 miles (0.95 km) south of Tredegar and 1.42 miles (2.29 km) west of Ebbw Vale. It is 16.17 miles (26.02 km) north of Newport. The A4048 runs near to the village. The population of the ward is 3,410 which represents the whole Georgetown ward.

Valleys Radio (Welsh: Radio'r Cymoedd) was an Independent Local Radio station broadcasting to the heads of the South Wales Valleys. The broadcast area was covered by two transmitters, 999 kHz from the Aberdare transmitter, and 1116 kHz from the Ebbw Vale transmitter, with the Ebbw Vale signal being the comparatively stronger of the two.

Holly Bush railway station served the village of Hollybush, in the historical county of Monmouthshire, Wales, from 1871 to 1960 on the Sirhowy Railway.

The Ebbw Vale Garden Festival Funicular was a funicular railway built to carry visitors around the Ebbw Vale Garden Festival in 1992.

Tredegar railway station was a station on the Sirhowy Railway. It served the town of Tredegar. The station was near the southern edge of Bedwellty Park.

Ebbw Vale Parkway railway station (Welsh: Gorsaf reilffordd Parcffordd Glyn Ebwy) is a station on the Ebbw Valley Railway in Wales. The station opened on 6 February 2008 when services to and from Cardiff Central commenced after 46 years of being a freight-only line. A northwards extension of the line to a new terminus at Ebbw Vale Town opened on 17 May 2015, which accounts for the drop in usage in 2015–16. A direct service to Newport was expected to commence in 2018 following double-tracking and re-signalling works between Aberbeeg and Crosskeys, but this has now been pushed back to 2021.The station has been built on the site of the former Victoria station in the Victoria area of the Ebbw Vale conurbation. It consists of a single platform adjacent to Glan Ebbw Terrace, close to the A4046 Station Road.

The Ebbw Vale Garden Festival of Wales (National Garden Festival 1992) attracted over two million visitors to Ebbw Vale in South Wales.

The Recreation Ground, Tredegar is a cricket ground and former greyhound racing and speedway stadium in Tredegar, Blaenau Gwent, south-east Wales. The stadium was situated on the west side of the London and North Western Railway line and north of the Whitworth coal pits. The Recreation Ground located south of Stable Lane was a very large park area opened in 1899 as an industrial welfare ground. It was built over two old pit shafts and gifted to the public by Lord Tredegar in 1890s. The area remained as a park until a speedway track was opened by Aneurin Bevan in 1929. The speedway only lasted until 1930; it is believed it only lasted one year because of the damage being caused to the rugby pitches.The greyhound track opened on 10 July 1931. The racing was independent (unaffiliated to a governing body) and racing ceased before World War II. The land was transferred to Tredegar Urban District Council and remains a recreation and cricket ground today.
