Milo Arts is a community arts center and former public school building in the Milo-Grogan neighborhood of Columbus, Ohio. The arts center was founded in 1988, and was considered a radical concept at the time. It is the longest-lasting artist live-work space in Columbus.It is, along with the former Columbus Railway, Power & Light office, one of the two most important historic structures in Milo-Grogan. It is a top priority for preservation for neighborhood leaders.

The former Columbus Railway, Power & Light office is a historic building in the Milo-Grogan neighborhood of Columbus, Ohio. The two-story brick structure was designed by Yost & Packard and built in the 1890s as a transportation company office. The property was part of a complex of buildings, including a power plant, streetcar barn, and inspection shop. The office building, the only remaining portion of the property, was utilized as a transit office into the 1980s, and has remained vacant since then. Amid deterioration and lack of redevelopment, the site has been on Columbus Landmarks' list of endangered sites since 2014. The office building is, along with the Milo Arts complex, one of the two most important historic structures in Milo-Grogan. The city's department of development recommended its listing on the Columbus Register of Historic Properties. Its preservation is also a top priority for neighborhood leaders.

Milo-Grogan is a neighborhood of Columbus, Ohio. The neighborhood was settled as the separate communities of Milo and Grogan in the late 1870s. Large-scale industrial development fueled the neighborhood's growth until the 1980s, when the last factories closed. The community has received urban renewal efforts in recent years fueled by the Columbus Department of Development and Milo-Grogan Area Commission.

The Felton School was a public school building in the Mount Vernon neighborhood of Columbus, Ohio, and a part of the Columbus Public School District. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1984 and the Columbus Register of Historic Properties in 1985.The brick school building was completed in 1893, designed in the Romanesque Revival style by local architect David Riebel. It was one of his first school building projects, and is nearly identical to another in Columbus, Southwood Elementary School, also on the Columbus Register. The Felton School building had two single-story wings, added to its east and west sides in the mid 1950s. By the 1980s, urban renewal projects surrounded the building, and the school had moved to a new building across the street. The Felton School building became vacant around 1975. Two attempts to sell it were unsuccessful, though it was purchased in the 1980s, with plans to use it as a corporate office building. The building was demolished in 1990. The Felton School is nearly identical to Southwood Elementary School, also designed by Riebel, built one year later, and still extant.

Saint John the Baptist Church is a Catholic national parish church of the Diocese of Columbus located in the Italian Village neighborhood of Columbus, Ohio. The congregation was founded in 1896 to serve Italian-American immigrants and initially met at St. Joseph Cathedral before the completion of the Late Gothic Revival church in 1898. The church was staffed by priests of the Pontifical Institute for Foreign Missions from 1949 to 1991, and became a hub of Italian-American culture in central Ohio, founding and sponsoring the Columbus Italian Festival in 1980 as well as constructing an Italian Cultural Center in 1989. It has been jointly administered with Sacred Heart Church in nearby Victorian Village since 2022.

Fort Hayes is a military post in Columbus, Ohio, United States. Created by an act of the United States Congress on July 11, 1862, the site was also known as the Columbus Arsenal until 1922, when the site was renamed after former Ohio Governor and later 19th U.S. President Rutherford B. Hayes. Beginning in 2007, the property was primarily used for the Columbus School District's Fort Hayes Metropolitan Education Center and bus depot. The 391st Military Police Battalion and the 375th Criminal Investigations Division of the U.S. Army Reserve were among the last to use the facility, but the last military presence on the property was in 2009. The military built a new army reserve center in Whitehall, which ended the long-established military presence at Fort Hayes.

The Berry Brothers Bolt Works is a former factory in Columbus, Ohio, United States. For more than a century after its 1888 construction, the factory produced machine tools using original equipment. The structure itself is one of Columbus' most prominent factory buildings, and it was named a historic site in its centennial year. Berry Brothers is a brick building with an asphalt roof, set on a foundation of limestone. Numerous windows, many set in pairs, cover the three-story facade of the main and secondary sections of the building. The building is typical of period factories, due to major components such as the brick walls and gabled roof, and also because of smaller elements such as the wooden windows with numerous small panes of glass, a four-story tower with staircase, and clerestory.Near the end of the nineteenth century, Columbus possessed numerous factories that built buggies and various machine tools, and the Berry Brothers constructed their manufacturing plant in 1888 for the sole purpose of producing bolts for these factories. A competing firm, built at the same time, went out of business before Berry Brothers. Their business, on the other hand, prospered; the building was greatly expanded in 1900, and a second large addition was erected ten years later. As buggies were replaced by cars, Berry Brothers continued in operation, using its 1880s equipment into the 1980s. No longer a factory, the company's building was purchased in 2000 with the goal of renovation, although financial problems delayed the start of work until 2004.In early 1988, the bolt factory was listed on the National Register of Historic Places, qualifying on three of the Register's four listing criteria: because of its architecture, because of its place in local history, and because of its potential to be an industrial archaeological site. The only criterion under which it did not qualify was that of association with a prominent individual.

The St. Clair Hospital is a historic building in the King-Lincoln Bronzeville neighborhood of Columbus, Ohio. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2001. The building was commissioned as a general hospital, built in 1911, and operated until 1940. It subsequently served as a convalescent home from 1940 to 1946. The building became a hotel, known as the Hotel St. Clair in 1948, operating until 1976. In the early 2000s, the building was renovated for senior citizen housing. In 2017, the building was run down and vacant. It was sold to a local developer who renovated it into market rate apartments. The building currently has 32 apartment units for rent, a tenant lounge, and a laundry room. The building is one of eight surviving sites listed in The Green Book in Columbus.

Fort Hayes Metropolitan Education Center is a public magnet alternative school for students interested in an intensive academic and arts curriculum, located near Downtown Columbus, Ohio. This curriculum brings the study of arts and academics together through innovative activities. It is a school in the Columbus City Schools system. The campus opened in 1976 on the site of Fort Hayes, a former U.S. Army base.

Neil Park was a baseball park in Columbus, Ohio. It was the home field of several Columbus professional baseball teams, notably the Columbus Senators, from 1900 until it was abandoned in mid-season 1932 with the opening of Red Bird stadium and later demolished in 1937.It is sometimes referred to as "Neil Park I" and "Neil Park II" by historians. Its first incarnation had the diamond in the southeast corner. The park was rebuilt in 1905 and became the first ballpark in the country to use concrete and steel construction. During this reconstruction the diamond was reoriented in the southwest corner. Its location was listed in Drehers Simplex Street and House Number Guide, Columbus, Ohio, 1929 -1930 as 475 Cleveland Ave. Other early city directories listed it as "west side Cleveland Avenue north of Buckingham Street." and "west side Cleveland Avenue opposite Fort Hayes." The site is now occupied by one of several locations of Abbott Laboratories and Abbott Nutrition.

The Martin Luther King Jr. Performing and Cultural Arts Complex is a historic building in the King-Lincoln Bronzeville neighborhood of Columbus, Ohio. It was built in 1925 as the Pythian Temple and James Pythian Theater, and was added to the National Register of Historic Places and Columbus Register of Historic Properties in 1983. The building was renovated into the King Arts Complex in 1987, and was vacated in 2019. Community leaders restored the building's use as an arts center in 2021.

The Ford Motor Company - Columbus Assembly Plant is a historic building in Downtown Columbus, Ohio. The Ford plant was constructed in 1914, to designs by John Graham. The plant operated until 1939. In later years, it became the Kroger Co. Columbus Bakery, operating until 2019. The building was sold in 2020, and is planned to be redeveloped into a large residential complex, announced in 2021. The building was added to the National Register of Historic Places and Columbus Register of Historic Properties in 2021. The former Ford plant sits on a 9.5-acre (3.8 ha) site along with 457 Cleveland Avenue to its north, built in 1927 as a Kroger bakery. Together the buildings total 375,000 sq ft (34,800 m2).
