Coles Branch (Crabtree Creek tributary)

Turkey Creek rises in southwest Cary, North Carolina and then flows northeast to join Crabtree Creek. The watershed is about 5% forested.

Prestonwood Country Club is a private country club in Cary, North Carolina, located near Research Triangle Park (RTP) and Raleigh-Durham International Airport (RDU). The country club's amenities include 54 holes of golf, 15 tennis courts, a full-service fitness and aquatics center, dining service and event space for various occasions. Prestonwood has played host to numerous national golf events including the SAS Championship and the Jimmy V Celebrity Golf Classic.

The SAS Championship is a golf tournament on the PGA Tour Champions. It is played annually in the autumn in Cary, North Carolina at the Prestonwood Country Club. SAS Institute is the main sponsor of the tournament. The purse for the 2023 tournament was US$2,100,000, with $315,000 going to the winner. The tournament was founded in 2001.

Morrisville is a town located primarily in Wake County, North Carolina, United States (a small portion extends into neighboring Durham County). According to the 2020 census, the population was 29,630. Morrisville is part of the Research Triangle metropolitan region. Williamson Page House is a historic home located at Morrisville, Wake County, North Carolina. It is a two-story, three-bay-wide frame I-house. The front section was built about 1838, with a transverse stair hall added about 1876, which connects the front section with a two-story rear ell dated to the mid-19th century. The front section has a side gable roof and one-story hipped-roof porch with jig sawn spandrels and a flat balustrade.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2012.

Pugh House is a historic home located at Morrisville, Wake County, North Carolina. The house was built about 1870, and is a two-story, three-bay-wide, Italianate style frame I-house with a one-story end-gabled rear ell. It features molded roof cornice brackets with finials, bargeboards with fleur-de-lis-shaped motifs, and a hip roofed front porch. Also on the property is a contributing smokehouse (c. 1880). The house and smokehouse were moved from 10018 Chapel Hill Road to their present location in 2008. It was the home of artist Mabel Pugh (1891–1986), who sold the house in 1958.It was originally listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2003, delisted in 2008, then relisted in 2014.

Morrisville Christian Church, also known as Morrisville Church of Christ, is a historic church located at Morrisville, Wake County, North Carolina. It was built in 1872–1873, and is a one-story, three-bay by four bay, vernacular front-gable church. It has a projecting front gable and prominent three-stage corner bell tower, which contains the main entrance, protected by a front-gabled portico. The church retains its original wood flooring, wall and ceiling finishes, and floor plan. The United Church of Christ sold the building to the Town of Morrisville in 1976 and it houses a community center.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2012.

Fred G. Bond Metro Park is the largest municipal park in Cary, North Carolina. It is also one of the largest municipal parks in Wake County. It is located at 801 High House Road, physically the geographic center of the town. The park has been described as "an oasis in the middle of Cary".

The Battle of Morrisville, also known as the Battle at Morrisville Station, was fought April 13–15, 1865, in Morrisville, North Carolina during the Carolinas Campaign of the American Civil War. It was the last official battle of the Civil War between the armies of Major General William T. Sherman and General Joseph E. Johnston. General Judson Kilpatrick, commanding officer of the Union cavalry advance, forced Confederate forces, under the command of Generals Wade Hampton III and Joseph Wheeler, to withdraw in haste. The Confederates were frantically trying to transport their remaining supplies and wounded westward, by rail, toward the final Confederate encampment in Greensboro, NC, which, unbeknownst to them, had fallen under attack by the 3rd North Carolina Mounted Infantry as part of Stoneman's Raid. Kilpatrick used artillery on the heights overlooking Morrisville Station and cavalry charges to push the Confederates out of the small village leaving many needed supplies behind. However, the trains were able to withdraw with wounded soldiers from the Battle of Bentonville and the Battle of Averasborough. Later, General Johnston sent a courier to the Federal encampments at Morrisville with a message for Major General Sherman requesting a conference to discuss an armistice. Several days later the two generals met at Bennett Place on April 17, 1865 to begin discussing the terms of what would become the largest surrender of the war.Due to the development of the area, hardly any evidence of the battle remains. Some heavily trampled breastwork is still visible in the woods by the train tracks. The North Carolina government has installed a sign marking the approximate location of the battle.
