Makedonikos Stadium (greek: Γήπεδο Μακεδονικού / Gipedo Makedonikou) is a football stadium located in Thessaloniki, Greece. It is home to Makedonikos football club. The stadium was also used by Iraklis FC for two seasons when the Kaftanzoglio Stadium was under renovation for Athens 2004 Olympics. For that reason, during 2002, it was upgraded to meet Greece 1st division standards. On 5 June 1983, its record attendance was set with 9,422 attendants for the match Makedonikos FC vs Olympiacos. It has also been used for live concerts by Ska-P, Scorpions and others.

Polichni (Greek: Πολίχνη, literally Little town) is a suburb of the Thessaloniki Urban Area and was a former municipality in the regional unit of Thessaloniki, Greece. Since the 2011 local government reform it is part of the municipality Pavlos Melas, of which it is a municipal unit. Stavroupoli (Greek: Σταυρούπολη, literally city of the Cross) is a suburb of the Thessaloniki Urban Area and was a former municipality in the regional unit of Thessaloniki, Greece. Since the 2011 local government reform it has been part of the municipality Pavlos Melas, of which it is the seat and a municipal unit. The population at the 2011 census was 46,008. The municipal unit has an area of 3.175 km2. Stavroupoli is located northwest of Thessaloniki's city centre.

Pavlos Melas is a municipality in the regional unit of Thessaloniki, Central Macedonia, Greece. It is named after a Greek revolutionary officer of the Macedonian Struggle, Pavlos Melas. It was formed during the administrative reform introduced by the Kallikratis plan and encompasses the former municipalities of Efkarpia, Polichni and Stavroupoli. The seat of Pavlos Melas is Stavroupoli.

MOMus Modern, in full MOMus–Museum of Modern Art–Costakis Collection (Greek: MOMus-Μουσείο Μοντέρνας Τέχνης-Συλλογή Κωστάκη), is a modern art museum based in Thessaloniki, Central Macedonia, Greece. It is housed in the renovated building of the old Lazariston Monastery in the Borough of Stavroupoli in west Thessaloniki. It was formerly known as the State Museum of Contemporary Art (SMCA, Greek: Κρατικό Μουσείο Σύγχρονης Τέχνης, ΚΜΣΤ).

Zeitenlik (Greek: Ζέιτενλικ, Serbian Cyrillic: Зејтинлик) is an Allied military cemetery and World War I memorial park in Thessaloniki, the largest military cemetery in Greece. It contains the graves of circa 20,000 Serbian, French, British, Italian, Russian and Greek soldiers and Bulgarian POWs, who died in the battles on the Salonika front during World War I. The largest part of the complex is the Serbian Military Graveyard, which contains the remains of c. 7,500 soldiers. The French sector contains the remains of 8,000 French soldiers. The Italian sector holds about 3,000 graves; the British sector holds about 2,000 graves, and there is also the Russian sector with about 400 graves. There are also graves of Bulgarian POW, such as graves of fallen Greeks transferred from the battlefields of Kilkis. The complex is located on the place where the Main Hospital of the Serbian Army was located during the war. The name comes from the Turkish word Zeytin which means Olive. It can be translated as Olive plantation. It is located on Lagkada street, about 1.5 kilometres (0.93 mi) from the city centre of Thessaloniki.

Neapoli–Sykies (Greek: Νεάπολη-Συκιές) is a municipality of the Thessaloniki Urban Area in the regional unit of Thessaloniki, Central Macedonia, Greece and part of the Thessaloniki Urban Area. The seat of the municipality is in Sykies. The municipality has an area of 12.903 km2.

Sykies (Greek: Συκιές) or Sykeai (Συκεαί) is a suburb of the Thessaloniki Urban Area and was a former municipality in the regional unit of Thessaloniki, Greece. Since the 2011 local government reform it is part of the municipality Neapoli-Sykies, of which it is the seat and a municipal unit. The municipal unit population is 37,753 (2011 census). Its land area is 7.982 km².

The Tomb of Macridy Bey (Greek: Τάφος Μακρίδη Μπέη, romanized: tafos makridi bei, also known as the Tomb of Langadas, is an ancient Macedonian tomb of the Classical or early Hellenistic period, on the site of ancient Lete, modern Derveni between Thessaloniki and Langadas, in Central Macedonia, Greece. A number of cist graves and a single chamber tomb are located in the vicinity. The structure seems to date to the late fourth or early third century BCE.

Neapoli (Greek: Νεάπολη) is a suburb of the Thessaloniki Urban Area and a former municipality in the regional unit of Thessaloniki, Greece. Since the 2011 local government reform it is part of the municipality Neapoli-Sykies, of which it is a municipal unit. The municipal unit population is 27,084 (2011 census), while its land area is only 1.168 km2 (0.45 sq mi), with a resulting population density of 23,188/km2 (60,060/sq mi), making it one of the densest places in the world. Neapoli is located northwest of the city center of Thessaloniki. Its neighboring suburbs are those of Polichni, Stavroupoli, Sykies, Thessaloniki and Ampelokipoi. There are eight districts in Neapoli: Neapoli, Piropathon, Kato Anagennisi, Pano Anagennisi, Kountourioti, Troada, Riga Feraiou, Hydragogio.

The National Map Library (Greek: Εθνική Χαρτοθήκη), properly the National Centre for Maps and Cartographic Heritage - National Map Library, is located in Thessaloniki, Central Macedonia, Greece. It was established in 1997 (Law 2466/1997) for the purpose of preserving, archiving, conserving, promoting, and displaying maps, studying the educational, cultural, and social role of maps, collaborating at a scientific and technical level with national and international organizations, organizing permanent and mobile exhibitions accompanied by catalogues, utilising public and private map collections, and organising seminars and conferences. Since February 1999 the National Map Library has been housed in a two-storey listed building in the Upper Town (Ano Poli). On the ground floor are the scientific and administrative departments and on the first floor there is a permanent exhibition space which hosts frequent cartographic exhibitions. There is an archive of 1,000 maps, which are being electronically documented and archived with the help of a special database. Between 1 and 12 November 1999, there was an exhibition of six 19th-century cartoon maps of Europe, five children's maps which had been entered for the international cartographic competition in 1999, and some rare maps drawn by Sotiris Zissis, a self-taught Thessalonian cartographer. Other exhibitions organised by the National Map Library include History in Maps at the Residency, Maps of Ports of Greek Cities of the Twentieth Century in the National Research Institute, and Greek Cartography in Thessaloniki in the Twentieth Century. An educational programme titled The National Map Library Meets Teachers and Children has been drawn up and is addressed to schools in Macedonia and Thrace.

The Church of Saint Catherine (Greek: Αγία Αικατερίνη) is a late Byzantine church in the northwestern corner of the Ano Poli, Thessaloniki, Greece.
