Preston railway station in Preston, Lancashire, England, is an interchange railway station on the West Coast Main Line, half-way between London Euston and Glasgow Central (206 miles (332 km) from London Euston, 194 mi (312 km) from Glasgow Central). It is served by Avanti West Coast, Northern Trains and TransPennine Express services, plus Caledonian Sleeper overnight services between London and Scotland. It is also served by the Calder Valley line to Leeds and York, and by branch lines to Blackpool, Ormskirk, and Colne. The North Union Railway opened a station on the site in 1838. It was extended in 1850, with new platforms under the separate management of the East Lancashire Railway, and by 1863 London–Scotland trains stopped here to allow passengers to eat in the station dining room. The current station was built in 1880 and extended in 1903 and 1913, when it had 15 platforms. A free buffet for servicemen was provided during both World Wars. The East Lancashire platforms were demolished in the 1970s as connecting lines closed. As well as intercity trains to London Euston, Birmingham New Street, Manchester Piccadilly, Glasgow Central and Edinburgh Waverley, the station is served by local trains to other parts of Lancashire, Cumbria, Greater Manchester, Merseyside and Yorkshire.

Fishergate Shopping Centre is a shopping centre in the city of Preston in Lancashire, England. It opened in the 1980s as part of a development to revive the western end of Preston's main street, Fishergate. Its northern side is on Fishergate, and its southern side is built on the site of Butler Street Goods Yard, adjacent to the railway station. The car park, along with the station car park, occupies the remainder of the former goods yard and the site of the East Lancashire platforms of the station, which were demolished in the early 1970s. It is the second largest shopping centre in Preston city centre, after St George's Shopping Centre (formerly The Mall). It was sold to Benson Elliot in August 2013, after former owner Agora Shopping Centres Fund was placed into administration.

Fishergate Baptist Church in Fishergate, Preston, Lancashire, England was an active Baptist church for more than 150 years, but is now redundant. The church is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a designated Grade II listed building. Since 2018 it has housed a French-themed bistro.

Maudlands railway station (also known as Maudland railway station, or Preston Maudland(s)) was the original Preston terminus of the Preston and Wyre Joint Railway to Fleetwood, in Lancashire, England. It was located on Leighton Street. The line and the station opened on 15 July 1840. The line crossed the Lancaster and Preston Junction Railway (L&PJR) on the level, immediately to the west of the station.By 1844, most of the line's trains were diverted along the L&PJR's line to use the main Preston Station instead. However, Maudlands Station continued to be used for excursions and as a goods station for several decades before its eventual closure and demolition, by 1885, to make way for an extension of the Longridge Branch Line. The remainder of the site was then used for a replacement goods station on the Longridge line which connected from the east. The site is now occupied by Leighton Hall on Leighton Street and by the University of Central Lancashire’s Roeburn Hall, with the disused Longridge line running between them.

St Joseph's Orphanage (sometimes known as Mount Street Hospital and other names) is a Grade II listed former orphanage and hospital complex in Preston, Lancashire, England. The complex is located on Theatre Street and Mount Street. The orphanage was constructed and opened in 1872 and a hospital extension was opened in 1877. In more recent years the complex was used as a private care home but that closed in 2003. The complex also includes a tower. The building later became derelict until 2022 when demolition began following redevelopment plans.

Maudland Bridge railway station was once the Preston terminus of the Longridge Branch Line, in Lancashire, England. It was located on Maudland Road, between a bridge over the Lancaster Canal and Cold Bath Street. The Maudlands district of Preston gets its name from the medieval St. Mary Magdalen's leper hospital, which once stood near the present-day St Walburge's Church.

It is located in a building at the heart of UCLan’s campus, close to the city centre.

West Cliff is a cricket ground in Preston, Lancashire. The first recorded match on the ground was in 1870, when Preston played a United North of England Eleven.In 1936, the ground held its first first-class match when Lancashire played Gloucestershire. From 1936 to 1939, the ground played host to 4 first-class matches involving Lancashire, the last of which saw them play Glamorgan. In 1952, Lancashire returned to the ground where they played a single first-class match against Glamorgan.The ground has also played host to a combined total of 15 Second XI fixtures for the Lancashire Second XI in the Minor Counties Championship, Second XI Championship and Second XI Trophy.Still in use to this day, in local domestic cricket the ground is the home venue of Preston Cricket Club who play in the Palace Shield.

The Corn Exchange is a former commercial building in Preston, Lancashire, England, which was commissioned as a corn exchange and later used for 90 years as an assembly room and auditorium known as the Public Hall. Much of the structure was demolished in the late 1980s, but the main entrance building survives as a public house, and is a Grade II listed building.

Preston Central Methodist Church is in Lune Street, Preston, Lancashire, England. It is an active Methodist church in the Preston Ribble Methodist Circuit, and the Lancashire district. The church is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a designated Grade II listed building.
