Coteau Bourgeois is an unincorporated community in Livingston Parish, Louisiana, United States. The community is located 5 miles (8.0 kilometres) southeast of French Settlement and 8 miles (13 kilometres) west of Sorrento. The site is on Louisiana Highway 22 and is one mile south of Head of Island on the Amite River.

The Deslattes House is a historic house located at 15620 LA 16 in French Settlement, Louisiana. Built in c.1900, the house is an L-shaped one story frame dwelling in Italianate style with a gallery running from the front to the rear of the house. A large barrel cistern made of cypress staves is located on a brick base near the house and is considered a contributing property. The parcel of land on which the house is actually standing was purchased in 1900 by Florian Deslattes, which sold the property along with buildings and improvements in 1903 to Mary LeBourgeois. The house has been also known locally as the Brignac House after Anita Brignac, who lived in the building for many years since 1940.The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on November 13, 2003.

The Adam Lobell House is a historic house located at 15715 LA 16 in French Settlement, Louisiana. Built in c.1862 for Adam Lobell, the house is a one-story frame cottage in French Creole style. It remained property of the Lobell family for three generations until it was sold to Robert and Florita Denny. Despite a certain number of alterations, the house retains its historic integrity.The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on May 14, 1992.

The Decareaux House, also known as the Creole House Museum, is a historic house located at 16061 LA 16 in French Settlement, Louisiana. Built in c.1898, the house is a one-story frame cottage in French Creole style. It was constructed by Harris and Alexander Lambert as a home for Mr. and Mrs. Alex Decareaux. In 1977 the house was donated to the village of French Settlement, Louisiana, which gave a long-term lease on the building to the French Settlement Historical Society. The house is now hosting the Creole House Museum.The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on May 14, 1992.

Whitehall is an unincorporated community located in Livingston Parish, Louisiana, United States. The community is on Louisiana Highway 22 and Maurepas lies approximately two miles to the northeast. The Amite River flows past the northwest side of the community.

French Settlement (historically French: La Côte-Française) is a village in Livingston Parish, Louisiana, United States. The population was 1,073 in 2020. It is part of the Baton Rouge metropolitan statistical area.

The Guitreau House, also known as Belle Place, is a historic house located at 16825 LA 16 in French Settlement, Louisiana. Built in c.1911 for Armond LaBougeois, the house is a one-story frame cottage in French Creole style. The building was widely renovated and expanded in after its 1914 sale to A.D. Guitreau. In the 1960s the house was purchased by Cajun chef and humorist Justin Wilson which sold it to Edward and Tana Berteau in 1979.The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on May 14, 1992.

Acy is an unincorporated community in the southeastern part of Louisiana, United States. Acy is located approximately 24 miles (39 km) southeast of Baton Rouge and 45 miles (72 km) northwest of New Orleans on Louisiana Highway 22 in the parish of Ascension. The residents live along highways LA22, LA936, LA937, and many short parish side roads mostly named after current or past residents of the area. Acy consists of woodlands and pastures. Acy is a rural area located off a ridge surrounded by swamp lands. Its area is six miles (9.7 km) long and about one mile (1.6 km) wide.

New River is a 24.0-mile-long (38.6 km) waterway located in south Louisiana in Ascension Parish. Its source is near the Mississippi River in Geismar where the two rivers were once connected before the levees were built to contain the Mississippi River during the spring rise. New River was a distributary of the Mississippi River and a much larger river than it is today. Lack of river current has caused sediment to reduce both its depth and width. New River originally meandered from Geismar passing through the city of Gonzales and the communities of St. Amant and Acy on its way to its mouth at Blind River. During the early part of the twentieth century a 5-mile (8 km) canal, called the New River Canal, was constructed to Petite Amite River, to increase its velocity and distance to Lake Maurepas. The portion of the original path of New River that continues to flow to Blind River is now a distributary of New River and is called Old New River. New River is a major drainage artery for east Ascension Parish, and it is part of the Lake Maurepas drainage basin.

Maurepas is an unincorporated community in the south/southwestern area of Livingston Parish, Louisiana, United States. Louisiana Highway 22 passes through the community and Whitehall lies two miles to the east. Lake Maurepas is six miles to the east and the Amite River lies approximately one half mile to the north. Lake is located between Lake Martin and Lake Villar. The name originates from when the two lakes flooded, the entire community became a lake.

Bayou Barbary is an unincorporated community in Livingston Parish, Louisiana, United States. The community is located on Louisiana Highway 444 5 mi (8.0 km) west of Killian, 3.5 mi (5.6 km) east of Verdun and 1 mi (1.6 km) north of the Amite River.
