Kehrsatz Nord railway station (German: Bahnhof Kehrsatz Nord) is a railway station in the municipality of Kehrsatz, in the Swiss canton of Bern. It is an intermediate stop on the standard gauge Gürbetal line of BLS AG.

The Lohn Estate (German: Landsitz Lohn, French: Domaine du Lohn) is a manor and estate located in Kehrsatz, canton of Bern, Switzerland. It serves as the official estate of the Swiss Federal Council. From 1942 to 1994, the Lohn Estate accommodated the official guests of the Swiss Confederation, which have included a number of heads of States and royalty. It is a Swiss heritage site of national significance.The manor was built in 1782 by the Tscharner family and was designed by the architect Carl Ahasver von Sinner. The estate was acquired in 1897 by the businessman Friedrich Emil Welti. In 1942, it was donated to the Swiss Confederation by Welti's widow in memory of his father, the former Federal councillor Emil Welti. The manor is a two-storey country house designed in the Neo-classical style. It features several reception rooms on the ground floor and five bedrooms on the upper floor, all adorned with paintings from the Welti collection.

Englisberg is a village in the district of Seftigen in Canton Bern, Switzerland. On January 1, 2004, the independent municipality merged with Zimmerwald to form the new municipality of Wald BE. Situated on the Längenberg, above the valley of the Aare river, it combines the villages of Englisberg and Kühlewil. Englisberg is first documented in 1166 [Endlisperc]. It is believed that Englisberg was created out of the much older village of Kühlewil [Cullenwil, Cullenwilare - originally of Celtic origin] the latter of which having since attained the status of a hamlet of the former. In the 14th century a castle is documented in Englisberg, owned by the family of the same name. It was abandoned by the following 15th century and quickly fell into disrepair and disintegration. The feudal rights over Englisberg were acquired by the von Erlach family of Bern in 1433 and passed in 1542 to the Baumgartner family of the same place. After 1570, these feudal rights were sold to local farming families Guggisberg and Zimmermann which over the course of several generations were split into 70 shares. In the 18th century, these rights were successively purchased by the aristocratic von Graffenried and von Tscharner families seated at the Lohn estate in Kehrsatz only to lose it all when Switzerland was invaded by the French in 1798 that resulted in the abolishment of the ancient order. Englisberg belonged until 1798 to the high court district of Seftigen. Ecclesiastically Englisberg was part of the evangelical reformed parish church of neighboring Belp till 1699 and thereafter was integrated into the newly created parish of Zimmerwald. The Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in Bern (Indonesian: Kedutaan Besar Republik Indonesia di Bern; German: Botschaft der Republik Indonesien in Bern) is the diplomatic mission of the Republic of Indonesia to the Swiss Confederation. The embassy is concurrently accredited to the Principality of Liechtenstein. The permanent mission of the Republic of Indonesia to the United Nations, World Trade Organization and Other International Organizations is located in Geneva. The first Indonesian ambassador to Switzerland was Alfian Yusuf Helmi (1952–1955). The current ambassador, Muliaman Darmansyah Hadad, was appointed by President Joko Widodo on 20 February 2018.

Wabern, or Wabern bei Bern, is a village in the municipality of Köniz in the Swiss canton of Bern. Situated some 3.5 kilometres (2.2 mi) from the centre of the city of Bern, it can be considered a suburb of that city. Wabern is served by Wabern bei Bern railway station, on line S3 of the Bern S-Bahn, and by Bern tramway route 9. It is also the gateway to the Gurten, the nearest mountain to Bern, to which it is linked by the Gurten Funicular.

The 1982 seizure of the Polish embassy in Bern, Switzerland was a politically and financially motivated hostage situation. The embassy was seized by a group of four Polish exiles, led by a former employee of the Służba Bezpieczeństwa (SB) security service, Florian Kruszyk. After seizing the embassy and taking 14 hostages, the group made several broad political demands including the abolition of martial law in Poland. They also requested several million Swiss francs, threatening to destroy the embassy with explosives if their demands were not met. The group's financial demands, and Kruszyk's previous conviction for an armed robbery involving hostage-taking, led some experts to cast doubt on the group's motives being primarily political. After intensive negotiations, a Swiss elite Stern anti-terror squad raided the embassy, freeing the hostages without a shot being fired. The raid took place around 36 hours after the siege had begun.

The Gurten is a mountain situated just to the south of Bern, the capital city of Switzerland. It is 858 metres (2,815 ft) high, and the summit yields views of Bern, of the Jura mountains and of the Alps.Facilities on the Gurten include a hotel, restaurants, a 25-metre-high (82 ft) viewing tower and a children's playground. Winter sports facilities are available in winter. The Gurtenfestival, a music festival, is held every year in the middle of July.The Gurten is accessible on foot, or by the Gurten Funicular from Wabern. Wabern can itself be reached from central Bern by tram, train or car. Wabern bei Bern station, on lines S3 and S31 of the Bern S-Bahn, is adjacent to the lower station of the funicular, as is the Gurtenbahn stop on Bern tramway route 9. The castle site of Aegerten lies a good 1 kilometre (0.62 mi) to the south-east of the Gurten summit. The remains consists of a roundish castle hill, which formerly carried a rectangular donjon, surrounded on three sides by a wall and rench.
