Chalfont St Giles is a village and civil parish in southeast Buckinghamshire, England. It is in a group of villages called The Chalfonts, which also includes Chalfont St Peter and Little Chalfont. It lies on the edge of the Chiltern Hills, 20.9 miles (33.6 km) west-northwest of Charing Cross, central London, and near Seer Green, Jordans, Chalfont St Peter, Little Chalfont and Amersham."Chalfont" means chalk spring, in reference to the water-carrying capacities of the local terrain. The cockney rhyming slang term "chalfonts", meaning haemorrhoids (piles), is derived from the name of the village. The village has a duck pond that is fed by the River Misbourne. The village sign was designed and painted by Doreen Wilcockson ARCA in 2001. Chalfont St Giles is famous for the poet Milton's only surviving home.

The Vache is an estate near Chalfont St Giles in Buckinghamshire, England. Located within the estate is a monument dedicated to the memory of Captain James Cook (1728–1779), the explorer. It has been owned or occupied by, among others, Hester and George Fleetwood, regicide of Charles I.

The British Defence Film Library (BDFL) is part of the Services Sound and Vision Corporation and is responsible for maintaining the library and distribution of military training and recruitment film, CD-ROMs and training packs.It was founded in April 1996 under a MoD contract. The BDFL supplies the training programmes to the Royal Navy, British Army and Royal Air Force. It has a library of approximately 3,500 titles from over 40 years. New programmes are added to the library as they are made.

Froghall Brickworks is a 0.26-hectare (0.64-acre) geological Site of Special Scientific Interest east of Chalfont St Giles in Buckinghamshire.The site is Pleistocene gravel above Reading beds. The gravel was deposited by the proto-River Thames, before it was diverted south by the Anglian Ice Age around 450,000 years ago. It is described by Natural England as very important because it is the only known exposure of the Westland Green Gravel in the Middle Thames area.The site is on private land with no public access.

Chalfonts Community College is a co-educational secondary school in Chalfont St Peter, Buckinghamshire. It takes children from the age of 11 through to 18 and has approximately 1,481 pupils. In August 2011 the school became an Academy.

Harewood Downs Golf Club is a golf club, located circa 2.5 miles (4.0 km) south-east of Amersham, Buckinghamshire, England. It is located northwest of Chalfont Saint Giles and southeast of Amersham. It was established in 1907. Lord Birkett, noted for being the judge who presided over the Sir Oswald Mosley trial during World War II, was a member of the club.

Shrubs Wood is a privately owned, Grade II* listed, Art Deco country house in Chalfont St Peter, Buckinghamshire, England. Built between 1933 and 1934, Shrubs Wood was designed by Erich Mendelsohn and Serge Chermayeff. It is one of only two residential properties designed during their short partnership (the other is Cohen House in Chelsea, London).Shrubs Wood is notable for its exterior, staircase and integrated furniture. It is unique as a Modernist interpretation of the traditional English country house and is considered an important example of "mature" Modernism. Shrubs Wood was originally named Nimmo House, before being renamed by Bridget D'Oyly Carte when she bought the property in 1949.Shrubs Wood has been used as a location for period film and TV series such as Agatha Christie's Marple, Agatha Christie's Poirot, Midsomer Murders, Jonathan Creek and Endeavour.

Chalfont Common is a hamlet in the parish of Chalfont St Peter, Buckinghamshire, England. It is located in the Chiltern Hills, approximately one mile to the north east of Chalfont St Peter village centre. Chalfont Common is 19.7 miles (31.7 km) west-north-west of Charing Cross, central London. It is located east of the River Misbourne and was one of Chalfont St Peter's three commons (the other two being Gold Hill Common and Austenwood Common). Housing of all sorts developed around and on the common, some dating back to the 1890s. In the 1960s a post office was constructed on the common, which has since closed. It is also the home of the Epilepsy Society which was founded in 1892.

Welders House is a Grade II listed house located in the village of Jordans, in Buckinghamshire, England. It was built between 1898 and 1899 for the politician Charles Thomson Ritchie by his son-in-law Mervyn Macartney. The governors of the St Luke's Hospital for Lunatics in London bought Welders House in 1910 along with its 100-acre estate and the nearby 35-acre Jordans Farm. The farm was sold in 1911 to the Religious Society of Friends. The house operated as a convalescent home for women with mild nervous maladies from 1911 to 1916. Welders Orchard of 113⁄4 acres and a field of 63⁄4 acres were purchased in 1917. The 5-acre Welders Wood was bought in 1920. The War Office loaned the house from St Luke's in 1918 for a Home of Rest for army nurses suffering from the mental strains of the First World War. The house closed in 1927 having been received by the Governors of St Luke's from the War Office in 1922. In 1940 the Welders House estate was leased to a couple who unsuccessfully planned to create a private nursing home, it was subsequently leased to the Bon Secours Sisters in 1942 and was part of the St Joseph Nursing Home in nearby Beaconsfield until April 1947.It has been Grade II listed on the National Heritage List for England since December 1984. The formal grounds feature a Rose garden, a copy of the Bethesda Fountain in New York City's Central Park, and a K6 telephone box.It was owned by British two-time Academy Award winning special effects director John Stears in the 1980s. It was then bought by Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne in 1993.Since this time significant renovation and expansion work has been undertaken adding an alternative driveway, a tennis court and gymnasium. The house was chosen by Sharon Osbourne due to its extreme distance from any public houses.The house is built of red brick and has 2 storeys with Dutch style gabled attics. The gardens of Welders House were featured in the 2017 book The Secret Gardeners by Victoria Summerley and photographer Hugo Rittson Thomas.In 2022, Welders House and its history was covered extensively in Jack Osbourne's Haunted Homecoming Mini-series on Discovery+.

Jordans is a village in Chalfont St Giles parish, Buckinghamshire, England, and the civil parish of Hedgerley. It is a centre for Quakerism, holds the burial place of William Penn, founder of the Province of Pennsylvania, and so is a popular place with American visitors. It also contains the Mayflower Barn, made from ship timbers sometimes claimed to be from the Mayflower. Some 245 households and 700 residents are served by a nursery, primary school, youth hostel, village hall and community shop. Forty of the houses and cottages and 21 flats are owned by a non-profit society that manages the village and its amenities.
