Glade Run is a small tributary of Slippery Rock Creek in western Pennsylvania. The stream rises in northwestern Butler County and flows northwest entering Slippery Rock Creek at Slippery Rock Park, Pennsylvania. The watershed is roughly 42% agricultural, 51% forested and the rest is other uses.

West Liberty is a borough in Butler County, Pennsylvania, United States. The population was 343 at the 2010 census.

Jennings Environmental Education Center is a 300-acre (121 ha) Pennsylvania state park in Brady Township, Butler County, Pennsylvania in the United States. It is 12 miles (19 km) north of Butler at the intersection of Pennsylvania Route 8 and Pennsylvania Route 528. The center contains a relict prairie of 20 acres (8.1 ha), the only publicly protected prairie ecosystem in Pennsylvania. Big Run, a tributary of Slippery Rock Creek, flows through Jennings Environmental Education Center, and it shares a border with Moraine State Park to the south. Jennings Environmental Education Center was chosen by the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR) and its Bureau of Parks as one of "25 Must-See Pennsylvania State Parks".

The Allegheny Plateau ( AL-ig-AY-nee) is a large dissected plateau area of the Appalachian Mountains in western and central New York, northern and western Pennsylvania, northern and western West Virginia, and eastern Ohio. It is divided into the unglaciated Allegheny Plateau and the glaciated Allegheny Plateau. The plateau extends southward into western West Virginia, eastern Kentucky, and Tennessee, where it is instead called the Cumberland Plateau. The plateau terminates in the east at the Allegheny Mountains, which are the highest ridges just west of the Allegheny Front. The Front extends from central Pennsylvania through Maryland and into eastern West Virginia. The plateau is bordered on the west by glacial till plains in the north, generally north of the Ohio River, and the Bluegrass Region south of the Ohio River. Elevations vary greatly. In the glaciated Allegheny Plateau, relief may only reach one hundred feet or less. In the unglaciated Allegheny Plateau in southeastern Ohio and westernmost West Virginia, relief is typically in the range of two hundred to four hundred feet. Absolute highest elevations in this area are often in the range of 900 to 1,500 feet (270 to 460 m). By the Allegheny Front, however, elevations may reach well over 4,000 feet (1,200 m), with relief of up to 2,000 feet (610 m).

WSRU is the college radio station of Slippery Rock University in Slippery Rock, Pennsylvania. It is owned by the Student Government Association. It is operated at a "rocking" 100 watts of power (according to the station's legal sign-off for DJs), serving SRU and the surrounding community. WSRU is run entirely by SRU students.

Mihalik-Thompson Stadium is a stadium in Slippery Rock, Pennsylvania at Slippery Rock University. The facility includes Bob DiSprato field, William Lenox Track, Gail Rose stadium Lodge and the Jerry Bujbel weight training facility. The stadium is primarily used for NCAA Division II sports including football, field hockey, lacrosse, soccer, and track and field. The facility is the home field of the Slippery Rock University of Pennsylvania. The stadium was built in 1974 and has a capacity of 10,000. In the fall of 2003, Bob DiSprato field was changed from grass to AstroPlay and lights were added to the facility.Old Thompson Stadium was the home for Slippery Rock's football team prior to the Mihaluk-Thompson Stadium's completion in 1974.

Slippery Rock University (CDP) is a census-designated place located in Slippery Rock Township, Butler County, in the U.S. state of Pennsylvania. It consists of the portion of Slippery Rock University of Pennsylvania that lies outside the borough of Slippery Rock, and the student residential population makes up the majority of the CDP's population. As of the 2010 census the population was 1,898.
