Lewes is a constituency in East Sussex represented in the House of Commons of the UK Parliament since 2015 by Maria Caulfield, a Conservative.

Lewes Free Presbyterian Church, based in the Jireh Chapel, is one of seven Free Presbyterian Church of Ulster places of worship in England. The Jireh Chapel is a former Calvinistic Independent chapel in the Cliffe area of Lewes, the county town of East Sussex and the main town in the local government district of Lewes. It is more than 200 years old and has been designated a Grade I Listed building.

Lewes () is the county town of East Sussex, England. It is the police and judicial centre for all of Sussex and is home to Sussex Police, East Sussex Fire & Rescue Service, Lewes Crown Court and HMP Lewes. The civil parish is the centre of the Lewes local government district and the seat of East Sussex County Council at East Sussex County Hall. A traditional market town and centre of communications, in 1264 it was the site of the Battle of Lewes. The town's landmarks include Lewes Castle, Lewes Priory, Bull House (the former home of Thomas Paine), Southover Grange and public gardens, and a 16th-century timber-framed Wealden hall house known as Anne of Cleves House. Other notable features of the area include the Glyndebourne festival, the Lewes Bonfire celebrations and the Lewes Pound.

Malling House is a 17th-century country house in Lewes, East Sussex, England. It is a Grade I listed building and serves as the headquarters of Sussex Police.The house was built in red and grey brick in the mid–17th century for the Spence family, extended in the late 17th century, refronted circa 1720–1726 and extended again in the 20th century. It is built in two storeys with attics and cellars with a roof of Horsham slabs. The frontage has 9 regular bays and a Tuscan door frame with pediment. To the right of the building is a 20th-century extension. It was acquired by the East Sussex Constabulary in 1948 for use as the police force headquarters, passing in turn in 1968 to the newly formed Sussex Constabulary to be used for the same purpose.

Harvey's Brewery is a brewery in Lewes, East Sussex, England. Harvey's estate includes 45 tied houses, mostly in Sussex, and three in London: Royal Oak, Southwark, The Cat's Back, Wandsworth and The Phoenix, Stockwell. It sells and distributes its main product, Sussex Best Bitter, to other pubs, off-licences and social clubs in south east England. John Harvey established the Bridge Wharf Brewery on its present site by the River Ouse, overlooking Cliffe Bridge.

Bill's is a British restaurant and bar chain, founded by Bill Collison in 2001 when he opened a small greengrocery in Lewes, East Sussex. As of January 2020, there are 78 branches in the UK, down from 81 in September 2018. With home deliveries on the rise, Bill’s launched a takeaway and ‘click and collect’ service to expand their offering.

The Lewes avalanche occurred on 27 December 1836 in Lewes, East Sussex, when a huge build-up of snow on a chalk cliff overlooking the town collapsed into the settlement 100 metres (330 ft) below, destroying a row of cottages and killing eight people. It remains the deadliest avalanche on record in the United Kingdom.

Fitzroy House is a Victorian building on the High Street in Lewes, East Sussex, England. It was originally Fitzroy Memorial Library, designed by architect George Gilbert Scott in neo-Gothic style and built in 1862. In 1897 it became Lewes' first public library, until 1956 when it became offices. It was left empty and decaying for 20 years before being renovated and used as a family home for 40 years, as well as an occasional venue for music and theater. In 2016 it was sold. The main focal point of the house is the double-height Octagon Room.

Lewes bus station is a bus station in Lewes, England. It opened on 26 March 1954 as a terminus for Southdown Motor Services routes. The adjacent bus depot was opened several months earlier.The bus station was sold by Stagecoach in 2006 and is currently owned by the Generator Group.In August 2021, plans were submitted for the demolition of the bus station and redevelopment of the site.The Twentieth Century Society submitted an application to Historic England to list the building however the Generator Group has also submitted a request for the building to not be listed. It closed on 16 September 2022.

Railway Land, Lewes is a 10.9-hectare (27-acre) Local Nature Reserve in Lewes in East Sussex. It is owned by Lewes District Council and managed by the council and the Railway Land Wildlife Trust.This former railway goods yard has diverse habitats including grassland, wet willow woodland, floodplain grazing meadows, reedbeds, a network of drainage ditches and a tidal winterbourne stream. Bird species include woodpeckers, common kestrels and common kingfishers.There is access from Railway Lane.

Lewes Friends Meeting House is a Religious Society of Friends (Quaker) place of worship in the town of Lewes, part of the district of the same name in East Sussex, England. A Quaker community became established in the town in 1655 when George Fox, prominent Dissenter and founder of the Religious Society of Friends, first visited. A meeting house opened in 1675 and a burial ground was erected in 1697. The present meeting house, which is a Grade II listed building, was built in 1784 on the site of the burial ground. The building has undergone "a long and complex history of extensions" and rounds of alterations, including the addition of two cottages and a coach-house (since demolished). It is one of a wide range of Protestant Nonconformist places of worship in the town, many of which have been established for centuries.

Pells Pool is a public outdoor swimming baths or lido in Lewes, East Sussex, England. The original structure was built in 1860 making it the oldest freshwater outdoor public swimming baths in the United Kingdom that is still operating.
