Sierras of Tejeda, Almijara and Alhama Natural Park

La Cadena is a mountain in the Frigiliana municipality of the Province of Málaga in southern Spain, in the Sierra de Almijara.

The Cerro del Lucero, also known as El Lucero, Raspón de los Moriscos or Cerro de los Moriscos, is a mountain in the Alhama de Granada municipality of the Province of Granada in southern Spain, in the Sierra Almijara.

Frigiliana is a town and municipality in the province of Málaga, part of the autonomous community of Andalusia in southern Spain. The municipality is situated approximately 71 kilometers east of Málaga, the provincial capital, and approximately 6 kilometers north of Nerja. It is located in the comarca of La Axarquía, the easternmost region of the province, and integrated into the judicial district of Torrox.

Arenas del Rey is a village located in the province of Granada, Spain. According to the 2006 census (INE), the city had a population of 1,231 inhabitants.The village is just north of the Sierras of Tejeda, Almijara and Alhama Natural Park. Arenas del Rey was the worst affected village in the Andalusian earthquake of 25 December 1884. Almost 90% of the houses collapsed, and the rest were badly damaged. The whole village was a pile of rubble. The church and all other public buildings were destroyed. There were 135 deaths and 253 people were injured. The snowfall that followed caused up to three more deaths per day for over a week.

The Caves of Nerja (Spanish: Cueva de Nerja) are a series of caverns close to the town of Nerja in the Province of Málaga, Spain. Stretching for almost 5 kilometres (3.1 mi), the caverns are one of Spain's major tourist attractions. Concerts are regularly held in one of the chambers, which forms a natural amphitheatre. The caves were re-discovered in modern times on 12 January 1959 by five friends, who entered through a narrow sinkhole known as "La Mina". This forms one of the two natural entrances to the cave system. A third entrance was created in 1960 to allow easy access for tourists, just south of the Sierras of Tejeda, Almijara and Alhama Natural Park. The cave is divided into two main parts known as Nerja I and Nerja II. Nerja I includes the Show Galleries which are open to the public, with relatively easy access via a flight of stairs and concreted pathways to allow tourists to move about in the cavern without difficulty. Nerja II, which is not open to the public, comprises the Upper Gallery discovered in 1960 and the New Gallery discovered in 1969. In February 2012 it was announced that possibly Neanderthal cave paintings dated in 42,000 years had been discovered in the Caves of Nerja.

The Torre de Maro, also known as the Torre de Calaturcos, is a 16th-century coastal watchtower located in the municipality of Nerja, Málaga, in the Andalusian region of southern Spain. It stands on a rocky platform near the edge of a cliff, east of Maro beach and within the Maro-Cerro Gordo Natural Park. On 29 June 1986 it was declared a Bien de Interés Cultural (Asset of Cultural Interest), the highest level of heritage protection in Spain, under registration code RI-51-0008068.

Canillas de Albaida is a town and municipality in the province of Málaga, part of the autonomous community of Andalusia in southern Spain. It has a population of approximately 800 residents. The natives are called Canilleros. The village is one of several typical Andalucian Pueblos Blancos which ring the edge of the national parks. The village has seen considerable growth and renovation after the 2000 millennium, as a result of an increase in tourism and the number of expatriate residents from northern Europe. There are restaurants and shops. Three hotels have been established after 2000 and the road leading to the coast has been paved and widened. The staple industry here is agriculture, the principal crops being avocados, raisins, wine from moscatel grapes and olives. Kitchen vegetables are also grown extensively on ancient irrigated terraces, for local sale and consumption. Farming is mostly done by hand, the only significant "machinery" being mules which are used as beasts of burden and for ploughing. The arrival of a more modern community has not obliterated the traditional lifestyle of the village and its surroundings.

Nerja (pronounced [ˈneɾxa]) is a municipality on the Costa del Sol in the province of Málaga in the autonomous community of Andalusia in southern Spain. It is part of the comarca of La Axarquía. It is on the country's southern Mediterranean coast, about 50 km east of Málaga. Under Muslim rule, its name was Narixa, which means "abundant source" and is the origin of the current name.

Cómpeta is a town and municipality in the comarca of Axarquía, and province of Málaga, part of the autonomous community of Andalusia in southern Spain. The municipality is situated approximately 18 kilometres from the coast (Costa del Sol), and 52 kilometres from Málaga, the provincial capital. It is situated at 638 metres above sea level in the foothills of La Maroma (the highest peak of the Sierra de Tejeda). The population is spread over the southern slopes of the Sierra de Almijara. Cómpeta has a population of approximately 4,000 residents and the natives are called competeños. Cómpeta residents are diverse in both culture and nationality, with many residents originating from other countries across Europe such as the UK and other Northern European countries including Germany, Denmark, The Netherlands and Norway. Cómpeta's patron saint is San Sebastian. During the last weekend in July, Cómpeta celebrates its patron saint by holding a fiesta (fair). On 15 August of every year (Assumption Day), Cómpeta celebrates the 'Noche del Vino' ('night of the wine'), which is a festival declared of tourist interest by official government decree ('Declaración de Interés Turístico National de Andalucia'). It takes approximately one hour to reach the village from Málaga Airport, along the coastal motorway and then inland via the well maintained mountain road.

Los Bermejales Reservoir (Spanish: Embalse de los Bermejales) is a reservoir in Arenas del Rey, province of Granada, Andalusia, Spain. It is fed by streams from the Sierra de Almijara mountains in the Sierras of Tejeda, Almijara and Alhama Natural Park and is the source of the Cacín River.

The Chíllar River is a river in the east of the Province of Málaga, Spain. It originates in the Sierra de Almijara and enters Mediterranean Sea just west of the town of Nerja.

Árchez is a small village in the province of Málaga, in southern Spain. The village is situated approximately 21 kilometres from Vélez Málaga. It has a population of approximately 408 residents, who are known as Archeros. Archez is located in a valley im the foothills of the Sierra Almijara. The River Turvilla runs through the village. Adjoined to the parish church of Nuestra Señora de la Encarnacíon is a 16th-century Mudéjar tower whose minaret dates from the 13th century.
