Perry Township, Allen County, Ohio

Perry High School is a public high school located just southeast of Lima, Ohio. It is the only high school in the Perry Local Schools district.

Lima Locomotive Works was an American firm that manufactured railroad locomotives from the 1870s through the 1950s. The company took the most distinctive part of its name from its main shop's location in Lima, Ohio ( LY-mə). The shops were located between the Erie Railroad main line, the Baltimore & Ohio's Cincinnati-Toledo main line and the Nickel Plate Road main line and shops. The company is best known for producing the Shay geared logging steam locomotive, developed by Ephraim Shay, and for William E. Woodard's "Super Power" advanced steam locomotive concept – exemplified by the prototype 2-8-4 Berkshire, Lima demonstrator A-1. In World War II the Lima plant produced the M4A1 version of the M4 Sherman tank.

Lima Memorial Health System was founded in 1899 as Lima City Hospital by the citizens of the Lima, Ohio community. The hospital is a not-for-profit health care organization with more than 1,500 employees, and 25 facilities in their 10-county service area in the region. Lima Memorial Health System also offers an extended network of primary care, pediatric and specialist physicians in their Lima Memorial Physicians (LMP) group. The hospital is an affiliate of ProMedica.

Nickel Plate Road 779 is a 2-8-4 or "Berkshire" type steam locomotive built for the New York, Chicago and St. Louis Railroad, (reporting mark NKP) completed on May 13, 1949, for use on fast freight trains. It was the last new steam locomotive to be delivered to the Nickel Plate Road, and alongside L&N 1991, another 2-8-4 for the Louisville and Nashville, is the last of 36 steam engines completed by Lima-Hamilton from 1947 to 1949, and the final 2-8-4 locomotive on standard gauge completed in the world. L-H's first diesel, A-3080 demonstrator #1000 was completed the same day as #779. NKP also received the first production A-3080, NKP #305, one of 4 delivered by Lima-Hamilton in 1949. Before her retirement in 1958, the locomotive had logged 677,095 miles. In 1966, the locomotive was donated to the City of Lima, Ohio, and placed on display in Lincoln Park, where it remains to date.

Lima Stadium, built in the 1930s, is a historic stadium in Lima, Ohio. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2002. Its significance is listed as its architecture. Its historic and current use is a sports facility. It is the only high school stadium in Ohio to be recognized as a historic landmark. Currently it is the stadium of the Lima Senior Spartans, the Lima Central Catholic Thunderbirds, and the Lima Warriors.

The Armory–Latisona Building (also known as the "Mihlbaugh Building") is a historic armory on South Main Street in Lima, Ohio, United States. Built in 1896, it features a Victorian variant of the Romanesque Revival style of architecture.

The Lima Cleaning and Pressing Company Building is a historic structure located along South Main Street in Lima, Ohio, United States. Built in 1890, it is an example of an early style of commercial architecture.

The Barr Hotel is a historic hotel on the eastern side of downtown Lima, Ohio, United States. Built in 1914, the Neoclassical hotel occupies the northeastern corner of the intersection of High and Union Streets.

Lima Senior High School, the only high school in the Lima City Schools District, was established in 1955, in Lima, Ohio. There are approximately 1,500 students currently enrolled at Lima Senior.

The Adgate Block was a historic building in Lima, Ohio, United States. Built in 1880, it was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982 as part of the Lima Multiple Resource Area. The brick building was constructed in a combination of the Victorian and Romanesque Revival styles. During its history, the building was occupied by a series of businesses, including a pharmacy, a specialty store, and a pizzeria. Although the block has been destroyed and a new YMCA constructed on its place, it remains listed on the National Register.

The Linneman Building was a historic commercial building in Lima, Ohio, United States. Located along South Main Street in the city's downtown, it was built in a transitional style of architecture in 1899. A two-story structure, it was constructed of brick arranged in an artistic style. Among its leading architectural features was a pair of large semicircular windows in the center of the building's facade; each window was decorated with a sash of aluminum, and the building was crowned with detailed stone carvings done in the style of the works of Louis Sullivan. In 1982, the building's stonework was rated as being equal to that of the adjacent Dorsey Building and superior to that of all other buildings in the city. At the time when the Linneman Building was built, Lima was experiencing an economic boom as a result of the discovery of petroleum in the surrounding countryside. According to the 1900 census, the city's population was three times that reported by the 1880 census; consequently, a large number of ornate buildings were erected in the city's downtown. Leading among these structures is the Metropolitan Block on the downtown's northern side, but many buildings at the city's center and on the southern edge of downtown, including the Linneman Building, were also architecturally significant. In 1982, the Linneman Building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in recognition of its architectural significance. Another sixteen buildings in and around downtown Lima were added to the Register at the same time as part of the "Lima Multiple Resource Area," including the adjacent Dorsey Building. Today, the Linneman Building remains listed on the National Register, but it has been demolished. A parking lot now occupies the site of the ornate nineteenth-century structure.

The Dorsey Building was a historic commercial building in Lima, Ohio, United States. Located along South Main Street in the city's downtown, it was built in a transitional style of architecture in 1899. Among its most distinguishing features was elaborate stonework, which was deemed equal to that of the adjacent Linneman Building and superior to that of all other Lima buildings. Like the Linneman Building and several other buildings on South Main, the Dorsey Building was constructed during a period of great prosperity in Lima: the railroad industry was expanding, and the discovery of petroleum in the vicinity had led to an economic boom in the city's economy.: 5  In 1982, the Dorsey Building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places for its architectural significance. It was one of seventeen buildings in and around downtown Lima to be added to the Register at the same time as part of the "Lima Multiple Resource Area." Six of the other sixteen were located along South Main, including the buildings adjacent to the Dorsey on both north and south.: 5, 8  Today, the Dorsey Building remains listed on the Register, but the building has been demolished; in its place sits a parking lot.
