Maipú is a city in Mendoza Province, Argentina. It is the capital of the Maipú Department. It is located a short distance from the provincial capital, Mendoza. Maipú is at the centre of an important wine-growing region, and has a wine museum. It has a population of 89,433 (2001 census [INDEC]).

The Battle of Rodeo del Medio, fought in Mendoza Province, Argentina on 24 September 1841, was a battle between the Federalist army of Ángel Pacheco and the Unitarian army of Gregorio Aráoz de Lamadrid during the Argentine Civil Wars. The consequences of the Federalist victory would last for a decade.

Villa Nueva is a small city located in the central part of the Mendoza Province. It is the capital of the Guaymallén Department as well as one of its 20 districts. It constitutes together with other cities the first metropolitan area of the province and the fourth of Argentina, called Greater Mendoza.

The Juan Agustín Maza University is a private university located in Las Cañas district, Guaymallén department in Mendoza, Argentina. It was founded on May 4, 1960, as a non-for-profit organization.

Lulunta is a district of the Maipú Department in the Mendoza Province, on the western side of Argentina. It is located about 20 minutes from Mendoza City. The town is home to many wineries and vineyards.

Godoy Cruz is a city in the province of Mendoza, Argentina. It has 183,000 inhabitants as per the 2001 census [INDEC], and is part of the metropolitan area of the provincial capital (Mendoza).

Estadio Feliciano Gambarte, nicknamed La Bodega, is a stadium in Godoy Cruz, Mendoza, Argentina. It is used primarily for football matches and is owned and operated by Godoy Cruz Antonio Tomba. The stadium, inaugurated in 1959, holds 11,000 spectators. The stadium was named "Estadio Nuevo" until 1986, when it was renamed "Feliciano Gambarte", to honor former athlete and president of the club. In 2023, the club started works to refurbish and expand the stadium in order to increase its capacity to 18,600 spectators.

The 1985 Mendoza earthquake occurred with medium intensity in the province of Mendoza, Argentina. It took place 7 minutes after midnight on 26 January 1985, and had a magnitude of 6.2 in the Richter scale. Its epicenter was located about 45 km southwest of Mendoza, the provincial capital, at the southern end of the region's pre-Andes range, and at a depth of 5 km. It was felt as grade VIII in the Mercalli intensity scale. The earthquake caused 6 deaths and about 100 injuries. In the affected Greater Mendoza area, where most of the provincial population is concentrated, one third of the buildings were built of adobe. Some 23,000 homes were destroyed or condemned, though the actual number might have been larger. Estimates vary between 50,000 and 100,000 people left homeless. A report released soon afterwards stated that the main reason why the event did not produce thousands of casualties was its short duration (less than 10 seconds). In addition, the fact that it was a summer Friday night might have led many people to be sitting outside their homes, chatting with their neighbors, rather than sleeping inside.

The Mendoza trolleybus system (Spanish: Sistema de trolebuses de Mendoza) formed part of the public transport network in Mendoza, the capital city of Mendoza Province, Argentina. It is owned by the provincial government. Opened in 1958, the system expanded to three routes by 1961 and remained relatively static in size and configuration until 1989, when a fourth route opened. Additional routes opened in 2004 and 2005, bringing the system to its maximum extent of six routes, which linked the city center with some of its metropolitan suburbs. However, one of the original routes (Villanueva) was suspended from 2005 to 2011, and consequently no more than five routes were operating concurrently during that period. In the 2010s, the provincial government entity that had always operated the system, the Empresa Provincial de Transportes de Mendoza (EPTM), began to experience increasingly worsening financial problems, due in large part to difficulties in keeping its fleet of approximately 30-year-old trolleybuses operating reliably. Construction projects around the city, including work on the new Metrotranvía Mendoza light rail system, also disrupted trolleybus service, and the actual number of trolleybuses in service declined considerably. At the end of 2016, the provincial legislature voted to dissolve EPTM entirely and replace it with a new company, the Sociedad de Transporte de Mendoza (STM), and this change was put into effect on 1 January 2017. All remaining trolleybus service was suspended on 4 May 2017. A plan to make the suspension a permanent closure gave way to one calling for retention of trolleybus service on one route, the Parque route (the system's very first route, dating to 1958), with the other five routes permanently closed. The suspension lasted 16 months, and trolleybus service resumed on the Parque route in January 2019. Service was discontinued again in February 2021.

Mendoza (Latin American Spanish: [menˈdosa]), officially the City of Mendoza (Spanish: Ciudad de Mendoza), is the capital of the province of Mendoza in Argentina. It is located in the northern-central part of the province, in a region of foothills and high plains, on the eastern side of the Andes. As of the 2010 census [INDEC], Mendoza had a population of 115,041 with a metropolitan population of 1,055,679, making Greater Mendoza the fourth largest census metropolitan area in the country. Ruta Nacional 7, the major road running between Buenos Aires and Santiago, runs through Mendoza. The city is a frequent stopover for climbers on their way to Aconcagua (the highest mountain in the Western and Southern Hemispheres) and for adventure travelers interested in mountaineering, hiking, horse riding, rafting, and other sports. In the winter, skiers come to the city for easy access to the Andes. Two of the main industries of the Mendoza area are olive oil production and Argentine wine. The region around Greater Mendoza is the largest wine-producing area in South America. As such, Mendoza is one of the eleven Great Wine Capitals, and the city is an emerging enotourism destination and base for exploring the region's hundreds of wineries located along the Argentina Wine Route.

The Universidad del Aconcagua (English: Aconcagua University), generally known as UDA, is a non-profit private university founded in 1965. It is located in the city of Mendoza, Argentina.

The Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Mendoza (Latin: Archidioecesis Mendozensis) is in Argentina and is a metropolitan diocese. Its suffragan sees include Neuquén and San Rafael.
