Herringston House is a Grade II* listed Tudor manor house in Winterborne Herringston in Dorset, England.

Winterborne Farringdon (or Winterbourne Farringdon) is a deserted village in Dorset, England, 1.5 miles south of Dorchester. Its lands are now incorporated into the adjacent settlements of Winterborne Came and Winterborne Herringston. There are substantial ground traces, and a remaining wall of St German's Church. Although there is no civil parish, the name is used for Winterborne Farringdon Parish Council (Group) which includes the civil parishes of Bincombe, Whitcombe, Winterborne Came, Winterborne Herringston and Winterborne Monkton.

Maumbury Rings is a Neolithic henge in the south of Dorchester town in Dorset, England (grid reference SY690899). It is a large circular earthwork, 85 metres in diameter, with a single bank and an entrance to the north east. It was modified during the Roman period when it was adapted for use as an amphitheatre, and the site was remodelled again during the English Civil War when it was used as an artillery fort guarding the southern approach to Dorchester. The monument is now a public open space, and used for open-air concerts, festivals and re-enactments.

It lies close to the A354 road between the county town Dorchester, 1.5 miles (2.4 km) to the north, and the coastal resort Weymouth, 5 miles (8.0 km) to the south. The hill fort of Maiden Castle stands to the northwest.

St Mary's Church, also known as St Mary the Virgin, is a Church of England church in Fordington, Dorchester, Dorset, England. It was built in 1910–12 for a cost of £11,500. The church became Grade II* listed in 1975, while its gate piers have also been Grade II listed from that time. Historic England describe St Mary's as "large and lavish" with a "high quality finish". Newman and Pevsner described it as architect Charles Ponting's "magnum opus".The church is largely built with Purbeck Marble, with some facings and window surrounds in Bath stone. It was designed to accommodate 750 people.

Dorchester West railway station is one of two railway stations serving the town of Dorchester in Dorset, England. The station is managed by Great Western Railway. The station is located on the Heart of Wessex Line between Castle Cary and Weymouth, 161.63 miles (260.12 kilometres) from the zero point at London Paddington (measured via Swindon and Westbury), and is at the southern end of a single track section from Maiden Newton. The line becomes double at the station and remains so to just before nearby Dorchester Junction, where the line joins the South West Main Line from London Waterloo to Weymouth.

The Borough Gardens is a public open space in Dorchester, in Dorset, England, It was opened in 1896, and is listed Grade II in Historic England's Register of Parks and Gardens. The gardens are owned and maintained by Dorchester Town Council.
