Le Moyne College

Dick Rockwell Field is a ballpark located on the campus of Le Moyne College in Syracuse, New York. It is home to the Le Moyne Dolphins baseball team of the NCAA Division I Northeast Conference, and previously had hosted both the Syracuse Salt Cats and Syracuse Spartans of the New York Collegiate Baseball League. It is named after former Le Moyne head baseball coach and athletic director Dick Rockwell.

The Le Moyne Events Center is a multi-purpose arena in DeWitt, New York, that serves as the home arena for the Le Moyne Dolphins women's basketball and volleyball, and men's basketball teams on the campus of Le Moyne College. The venue is sometimes identified as the Event Center.The hardwood playing surface within the Events Center is named Ted Grant Court in honor of G. Edward Grant, a member of Le Moyne's inaugural class of 1951. Grant served as a trustee of Le Moyne College from 1981 to 1987, and was a financial supporter of the athletics program. Le Moyne's turf field is also named in his honor.

DeWitt is a town in Onondaga County, New York, United States. As of the 2020 census, the population was 26,074. The town is named after major Moses DeWitt, a judge and soldier. An eastern suburb of Syracuse, DeWitt also is the site of most of the campus and all of the academic buildings of Le Moyne College.

William Nottingham High School is a public high school located at 3100 East Genesee Street in Syracuse, New York. Part of the Syracuse City School District, the high school has an enrollment of about 1350 students in grades 9–12. The school was established in 1921 (making it the oldest, still functioning high school in the city of Syracuse) in the building that is now T. Aaron Levy Middle School. It was named for the prominent Syracuse attorney William Nottingham (1853–1921), who had served on the Syracuse University Board of Trustees and on the New York State Board of Regents. In 1952 the high school moved to its current location on East Genesee Street. Between 1977 and 1982 a new library, gym, and Olympic-sized swimming pool were added, and a walkway was built connecting the former George Washington Elementary School to the main building.The school offers many sports, including football, cheer, tennis, swimming, lacrosse, volleyball, bowling, golf, basketball, indoor track, crew, track & field, cross country, baseball, softball, and soccer. However, several of the sports are combined with other local schools to form Syracuse and Syracuse East. The school offers many AP and Honors courses such as AP World History, AP Literature & Composition, AP Language & Composition, aAP United States History, AP Government & Politics, and AP Calculus AB. It also offers some courses in association with nearby colleges and universities such as Onondaga Community College, Syracuse University and SUNY ESF (Environmental Science and Forestry). The Syracuse University program is called Syracuse University Project Advanced (SUPA) and offers college level courses in biology, psychology, statistics, calculus, physics, sociology, English, finance, and entrepreneurship. Courses through SUNY ESF include Conservation Psychology, Public Speaking, Creative Writing, Global Environment, Economics, and Government. The school also offers pre-calculus through Onondaga Community College. In terms of academics, the school grades on a numerical scale out of 100. Weighted coursework includes class through AP, SUPA, SUNY ESF, PLTW, and OCC. The school traditionally announces a valedictorian and salutatorian halfway through the school year for the graduating class. Traditionally, the top 20 of the graduating class earn recognition upon graduation, with the valedictorian and salutatorian receiving medals and giving addresses. Graduation ceremonies have recently been held at Onondaga Community College’s SRC Arena. The school was the subject of the book The World We Created at Hamilton High, by Gerald Grant.

Christian Brothers Academy (CBA) is a private Catholic college preparatory school in suburban Syracuse, New York run by the Brothers of the Christian Schools, founded by St. John Baptist de La Salle. Located within the Roman Catholic Diocese of Syracuse, the school has more than 750 students in grades seven through twelve. It was founded in 1900 by the Christian Brothers, who still run the school, though most of the teachers are laity. In 1960, it moved from its original site on Willow Street in downtown Syracuse to its current location in suburban Dewitt on Randall Road. CBA was a boys-only school until September 1987. CBA opened to girls after Syracuse's all-girls school, The Franciscan Academy, closed and many of those parents actively lobbied to have CBA accept female students. In 2019, CBA was named a National Blue Ribbon School of Excellence, one of 50 private schools nationally, and the only private school in New York State. CBA was also ranked as the No. 1 Catholic high school in all of Upstate New York by NYup.com.Niche.com ranks CBA as the #1 best Catholic High School in the Syracuse area.In the past 25 years, the school has captured State Championships in baseball, boys basketball, football, girls lacrosse (4 state titles), boys lacrosse, boys soccer, ice hockey and cross country. In addition, individuals have won State Titles in track and swimming.

Messina Springs was a small community, northwest of Messina (now East Syracuse), which was settled in the early 19th century around several mineral springs east of Syracuse, New York, United States, at the intersection of James Street and Thompson Road. James Street was then a main east–west road from Syracuse to Messina and Manlius Center. Thompson Road was a main north–south thoroughfare in eastern Onondaga County with the first bridge east of Syracuse to cross over the Erie Canal at Headson's Landing. Reputed to have healing powers, these springs attracted a large clientele, culminating in the late 19th century with a spa, hotel, casino and race track located there. The mania for such restorative waters had waned by early in the 20th century and Messina Springs declined. A fire consumed the hotel and casino around 1913. All that remains of this community is a tiny cemetery on James Street just west of Thomson Road. Lists of persons buried at this cemetery are available at Ancestry.com and FindaGrave.com

De Witt is a census-designated place (CDP) in the town of DeWitt, Onondaga County, New York, United States. It was first listed as a CDP prior to the 2020 census.The CDP is in eastern Onondaga County, in the southern part of the town of DeWitt. It is bordered to the northwest by the city of Syracuse, to the north by the village of East Syracuse, and to the east and south by Interstate 481, which separates it from the rest of the town of DeWitt. East Genesee Street is the main road through the CDP, leading west 4 miles (6 km) to downtown Syracuse and east 3 miles (5 km) to Fayetteville. New York State Route 92 follows East Genesee Street within the De Witt CDP, while State Route 5 follows it in the eastern part of the CDP, before turning north to take Erie Boulevard toward downtown. Le Moyne College is in the northwest corner of the CDP.

East Syracuse is an incorporated village and a suburb of the City of Syracuse in eastern Onondaga County, New York, United States. As of the 2020 census, the population was 3,078. It is located immediately east of Syracuse, in the town of DeWitt.

ShoppingTown Mall was a regional shopping mall in Dewitt, New York. First opened as an open-air shopping center in 1954, it was enclosed in 1973 and remained a major shopping center before no longer being part of Dewitt in March 2020 to make way for a new $400 million development, which will be named District East. Much of the existing mall will be demolished for a phased development that includes a substantial residential component, a movie theater complex, retail space and offices, as well as new sidewalks, bike paths, walking trails, and large park and green space that will serve as a spearhead to the Empire State Trail.
