The Children's Republic (Spanish: República de los Niños), is a theme park located in the city of Manuel B. Gonnet in La Plata, Argentina. With a surface of 53 hectares (130 acres), and 35 scale buildings, it is regarded as the first theme park in the Americas. The Republic represents a city (proportionally sized for children) with all its institutions: parliament, government house, the courthouse, church, port, theater, airport, restaurants, hotels, etc.It was built by the "Investor Institute of the Province of Buenos Aires" on 53 hectares of land where the Swift Golf Club had its course. It was inaugurated on November 26, 1951, by President Juan Domingo Perón. Its architectural similarity to Disneyland allowed the emergence of an urban myth, which affirms that Walt Disney was inspired in this park to found several years later the one located in California.

The Estadio Único Diego Armando Maradona (Unique Diego Armando Maradona Stadium, formerly Estadio Ciudad de La Plata) is a multi-purpose stadium located in Tolosa, La Plata Partido, next to the city of La Plata, Argentina. It is also known popularly as the Estadio Único (One-of-a kind Stadium) and is owned by Buenos Aires Province, administered jointly by the provincial government, the Municipality of La Plata, and the football clubs Estudiantes de La Plata and Gimnasia y Esgrima de la Plata. Opened on June 7, 2003, the stadium was considered "the most modern of Latin America", even without having completed all of the planned construction. Its tenants include Estudiantes LP whose own stadium, the Estadio Jorge Luis Hirschi, was declared unsafe in 2005, and Gimnasia y Esgrima LP. Gimnasia returned to their original stadium (Estadio Juan Carmelo Zerillo) in mid-2008. It is located between 32nd and 526th avenues, 25 Street and 21. These fields also contain a small rugby union stadium and a center for Physical Education, which tend to be intercollegiate events with schools in the area, such as the school No. 31, better known as the Saint Martin Commercial.

Gilardo Gilardi Conservarory of Music (Conservatorio de Música Gilardo Gilardi) is a music conservatory in La Plata, Argentina. Founded as Conservatorio de Música y Arte Escénico (Conservatory of Music and Scenic Art) on 18 May 1949, this tertiary educational institution was the brainchild of the Argentine composer Alberto Ginastera. He envisaged a modern academy of musical studies that addressed both the professional and the artistic aspects of a musician's development. Argentine law 5322, approved on 29 October 1948 and promulgated on 23 November 1948, authorised its establishment and Ginastera became its first director. In 1960 it was suggested that the conservatory should be named in Ginastera's honour but convention was against honouring a living person. Consequently, when Gilardo Gilardi died in 1967, his name was adopted by the Conservatory.Departments reflect every speciality of the orchestra. Courses are also offered through the faculties of pianoforte, guitar, singing, organ, conducting and music education. Diplomas are awarded for all levels of teaching in the educational system of Argentina.

Ringuelet is a town located in the La Plata Partido of Buenos Aires Province of Argentina.

City Bell is a town located in La Plata Partido, Buenos Aires, Argentina. It is located some 10 kilometers from the city center. It forms part of the Greater La Plata urban agglomeration. The earliest settlement in City Bell was founded around 1900 by English immigrants led by George Bell. On July 18, 1913, Bell's heirs sold approximately 3 km² (1.1 mi²) to Sociedad Anónima de City Bell for the purpose of reselling the land in lots in the hope of founding a new town. The town, named in honor of its founder, George Bell, was authorized by the Provincial Legislature on May 10, 1914, and the City Bell station of the Buenos Aires Great Southern Railway was completed that year. The planned community grew more slowly than planned, however, and much of the grounds were used to some extent for farming. Finally, a small group of people settled down, and as the town started to grow larger, amenities were developed such as the local electric utility (1922), and a new, larger train station (1925). City Bell was chosen as the site of the Argentine Army's Communications Battalion 601 in 1944. Situated between Buenos Aires and La Plata along the former National Route 1 (Camino Centenario), its recreational facilities include the 200 ha (500 ac) Municipal Ecological Park, the City Bell Athletic Club (1926), which since the 1960s hosts the Regional Folklore Festival, the Teatro de Cámara, the City Bell Golf and Equestrian Clubs, the Gauguin Art Gallery (1984), and the City Bell Cultural Center (1997). The Bank of the Province of Buenos Aires also maintains its staff's athletic club here.

Manuel B. Gonnet is a city in La Plata Partido, Argentina. It is part of a group of neighborhoods developed around the then Buenos Aires Great Southern Railway (later Ferrocarril General Roca) connecting La Plata with Buenos Aires, and Tolosa, Ringuelet, City Bell and Villa Elisa. It is named after Manuel Bernardo Gonnet, first provincial minister of Public Works (after the Federalization of Buenos Aires) and provincial legislator. According to the 2001 Census INDEC, Manuel B. Gonnet has a population of 22,963 in 2.335 ha (5.8 acres).

Tolosa is a town located in the La Plata Partido of Buenos Aires Province, Argentina. It is part of the Greater La Plata metropolitan area. Tolosa is the birthplace of former President and incumbent Vice President of Argentina Cristina Fernández de Kirchner.

Los Hornos is a town in La Plata Partido, Buenos Aires, Argentina. Los Hornos belongs to the Greater La Plata urban conglomerate. Its name, (Spanish for "the [brick] ovens" or "the furnaces"), refers to the several brick factories that were located in the area at the end of the 19th century, and which supplied the bricks for many of the buildings in the nascent city of La Plata. The area was heavily settled by Italian immigrants, and became renowned for its many family orchards. The town has a distinct personality and atmosphere. In Los Hornos we can find the municipal cemetery, a protected local landmark, and the Parish St. Benjamin.

The Roman Catholic Metropolitan Archdiocese of La Plata (erected 15 February 1897, as the Diocese of La Plata) is in Argentina and is a metropolitan diocese and its suffragan sees are Azul, Chascomús, and Mar del Plata. It was elevated on 20 April 1934.
