The Academy of Technology or AOT is a self-financed undergraduate engineering college in Adisaptagram, Hooghly, West Bengal, India. It was established in 2003 by "Ananda Educational Development and Charitable Organisation"(AEDCO), a trust. The college is affiliated to Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology and all the programmes are approved by the All India Council for Technical Education.The campus is located on the side of G.T. road at Adisaptagram, Hooghly. The college is only 200 meters away from Adisaptagram railway station, next station to Bandel on Howrah–Barddhaman main line [Eastern Railway] and only 70 to 80 minutes journey from Howrah railway station. Kolkata Airport is only 69 km away.Kanchrapara railway station (North 24 Parganas) is 9.4 KM and Kalyani railway station (Nadia) is 10.4 KM from Academy of Technology.

Saptagram (colloquially called Satgaon) was an ancient major port, the chief city and sometimes capital of southern Bengal, in ancient and medieval times of Bengal, the location presently being in the Hooghly district in the Indian state of West Bengal. It is about 4 km from Bandel, a major rail junction. By the early twentieth century, the place had dwindled to a group of insignificant huts. The port had to be abandoned because of the silting up and consequent drying of the Saraswati River.

Considering demand for establishing school surrounding Bansberia Ganges Jute Mill area local people had established two schools one in Hindi medium and another in partly Urdu & partly Telugu. Professor Narayan Ch Ghosh, Mathematician was associated with both the attempt as he was trade union leader there. Hangseswari temple (also spelled as Hanseswari temple) is a Hindu ratna temple located in the town of Bansberia at Hooghly District, West Bengal, India. The presiding deity of the temple is Hangseswari, a form of Maa adi parashakti jagatjanani dakshina Kali in Hindu mythology. In December 1799, Raja Nrisinhadeb Roy Mahasay laid the foundation stone of this temple. But after completion of the second storey in 1802, the founder died leaving this far-famed temple incomplete. His second wife Rani Sankari completed the rest of the work in 1814. The temple is known for its unique ratna architecture. Bansberia is an industrial town positioned in between Bandel and Tribeni. Rani Hanseswari was the mother of Raja Nrisingha Deb Roy, hence the deity is worshipped as Maa Hanseswari. The deity is worshipped as a form of Maa Kali in Hindu mythology. The temple complex has another temple — Ananta Basudeba temple — besides the main temple. Also near is the Swanbhaba Kali temple built by Raja Nrisinha Deb Roy Mahasay in 1788. The Hanseswari temple has a distinctive architecture different from the usual pattern present in this area, consisting 13 minars or Ratnas, each built as a blooming lotus bud. The inner structure of the building resembles human anatomy. It was started by Raja Nrisingha Deb Roy Mahasay and later completed by his widow wife Rani Sankari in 1814. The architecture of the temples is the representation of "Tantrik Satchakrabhed". The structure tells about the structure of a human body, because the five storied temple is like the five parts of the human body, namely, Bajraksha, Ira, Chitrini, Pingala and Sushumna.

Ananta Basudeba temple is a temple of Lord Krishna in the Hangseshwari temple complex in Banshberia, in the Hooghly District in the Indian state of West Bengal. Built by Raja Rameswar Datta in 1679, this temple is noted for the exquisite terra cotta works on its walls. It is built in the traditional eka-ratna style, with curved cornices. The tower on top of the temple is octagonal. The terracota works depict stories from the great Indian epics Ramayana and Mahabharata, as well as from lilas of Krishna.
