Star Camp (Star, Idaho)

Star is a city in northwestern Ada County, Idaho, with parts stretching into neighboring Canyon County. The population was 11,117 at the 2020 census, up from 5,793 in 2010. It was named in the 19th century by travelers on their way to Middleton and Boise who used the star on the school house to find east and west. The name stuck and it became Star, Idaho. Today, it is a rapidly growing suburb of Boise and its schools are shared with Middleton School District and West Ada School District. Star is part of the Boise metropolitan area.

The Charles and Martha Villeneuve House, also known as the Herridge House, near Eagle, Idaho, is a 1+1⁄2-story Queen Anne house constructed of cobblestones from the Boise River in 1881. Ground floor stone walls are 12-14 inches thick, and the upper half story construction is wood frame with front and left side gables. A 1961 addition at the rear of the house is not visible from Moon Valley Road. The house was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1990.

KBGN (1060 AM) is a daytime only radio station licensed to Caldwell, Idaho, and serving the Boise metropolitan area. The station broadcasts a Christian radio format and is owned by Nelson M. and Karen E. Wilson.By day, KBGN is powered at 10,000 watts, using a non-directional antenna. But 1060 AM is a clear channel frequency reserved for Class A stations KYW Philadelphia and XECPAE Mexico City. So to avoid interference, KBGN must go off the air at sunset. The transmitter is on Blessinger Road near Willis Road in Star, Idaho.

MacMillan Chapel, also known as Little White Chapel, near Nampa, Idaho, is a 1-story Carpenter Gothic church building constructed in 1899 near the corner of West MacMillan and North Cloverdale Roads in Ada County. John MacMillan had donated property for the Methodist Episcopal Church South, and congregation member Will Casey helped in the construction. The chapel was added to the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP) in 1984.Albert and Hazel DeMeyer were married in the church in 1916, and they purchased both the building and the MacMillan farm in 1953. The DeMeyers donated the chapel to a nonprofit group in 1993, after the building was listed on the NRHP, and the chapel was moved to the corner of Hwy 20/26 and Star Road. Lewis and Anne McKellip purchased the building in 2004 and moved it to its present location at 18121 Dean Lane in Canyon County, near Nampa. The chapel is now part of the Still Water Hollow event venue.

KMHR (950 AM) is a radio station broadcasting a Regional Mexican format. Licensed to Boise, Idaho, United States, the station serves the Boise area. The station is currently owned by Azteca Media, LLC and is branded as La Mejor.

Firebird Raceway is a motorsport racing venue in the western United States, near Eagle, Idaho, in the Boise metropolitan area. The raceway opened 56 years ago in 1968 under management of racing enthusiasts Bill and Ellanor New, and it has remained under ownership of the New family. A longstanding member track of the National Hot Rod Association (NHRA), the raceway has been named NHRA Track of the Year three times. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2018, the first dragstrip to be included on the register.Just west of Highway 16 between Star and Emmett, the elevation is approximately 2,700 feet (825 m) above sea level.

College of Western Idaho (CWI) is a public community college in Southwest Idaho with its primary campus locations in Boise and Nampa. CWI also offers classes at several community locations throughout the Treasure Valley. It is one of four comprehensive community colleges in Idaho and is governed by a five-member board of trustees elected at large by voters in Ada and Canyon counties. CWI offers over 60 academic transfer and professional-technical programs leading to an Associate of Arts or Science degree, Associate of Applied Science degree, and certificates. CWI also offers basic education skills to help upgrade your existing skills, prepare for the GED, and learn English, dual credits for high school students, and fast-track career training for working professionals or people seeking to enter the workforce. In the fall of 2019, CWI's enrollment was 31,350, with 20,576 credit students and 10,774 students taking non-credit courses. Ada County residents comprised 52% of the CWI student body, while 31% of students come from Canyon County.

McCall College (McC) is an American private college located in McCall, Idaho. It primarily serves Valley County, Adams County and Idaho County. McCall also serves as a destination college for students from the Pacific Northwest.

The Meridian Idaho Temple is a temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Meridian, Idaho. The intent to build the temple was announced by church president Thomas S. Monson on April 4, 2011, during the church's semi-annual general conference.

The Ford Idaho Center is a complex of sports and entertainment venues in Nampa, Idaho, approximately 15 miles (24 km) west of Boise.

The Snake River Stampede is a rodeo held in Nampa, Idaho. It is one of the top twelve professional rodeos recognized by the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association and is held for five days every year during the third week of July. There are many community events which help kick off the rodeo week. The rodeo was inducted by the ProRodeo Hall of Fame in 2014.

Rocky Mountain High School is a four-year public secondary school in Meridian, Idaho, west of Boise. Opened in the fall of 2008, it is the fifth major high school in the West Ada School District. As of 2015, Rocky Mountain has had the largest enrollment in the state, beating out neighboring rival Mountain View. The school colors are Purple, Black and Silver and the mascot is a Grizzly bear.
