Upper Green, Llantilio Crossenny

The Three Castles Walk is a waymarked long-distance footpath and recreational walk in north-east Monmouthshire, Wales, linking Skenfrith, Grosmont and White Castles.

The Barn at Croft Farm, Llantilio Crossenny, Monmouthshire is a remarkably rare example of a 16th-century barn. Originally built as part of the Great Tre-Rhew Estate, it is a Grade II* listing building.

The Corn Barn, Stable and Cider House at Great Tre-Rhew Farm, Llantilio Crossenny, Monmouthshire form part of "one of the most completely surviving farmsteads in the county". Constructed in the late 17th century, the corn barn is an eight-bay structure with the stable and cider house forming two, gabled, linked additions. The whole is a Grade II* listed structure. The other buildings that comprise the farmstead include the farmhouse, a granary and brewhouse, and a shelter shed, all of which have their own Grade II listings.

Brynderi House, in the hamlet of Brynderi, Llantilio Crossenny, Monmouthshire is a country house with origins in the mid-18th century. The house was extensively rebuilt in the early 19th century in a Regency style. In the later 19th century the house become the dower house for Llantilio Court. A Grade II* listed building, it remains a private residence.

Upper White Castle Farmhouse, Llantilio Crossenny, Monmouthshire is a farmhouse dating from the late 17th century. Standing adjacent to the White Castle, the farmhouse is constructed in a Renaissance style. The farmhouse is Grade II* listed, and some of the related farm buildings have their own listings.

Great Pool Hall, Llanvetherine, Monmouthshire is a mansion dating from the early 17th century. Its construction is unusual in that it is built around a timber frame, unlike the more common stone construction of houses of this date and location. It is a Grade II* listed building. The associated gate piers and garden walls, and the separate barn have their own Grade II listings.

White Castle (Welsh: Castell Gwyn), also known historically as Llantilio Castle, is a ruined castle near the village of Llantilio Crossenny in Monmouthshire, Wales. The fortification was established by the Normans in the wake of the invasion of England in 1066, to protect the route from Wales to Hereford. Possibly commissioned by William fitz Osbern, the Earl of Hereford, it comprised three large earthworks with timber defences. In 1135, a major Welsh revolt took place and in response King Stephen brought together White Castle and its sister fortifications of Grosmont and Skenfrith to form a lordship known as the "Three Castles", which continued to play a role in defending the region from Welsh attack for several centuries. King John gave the castle to a powerful royal official, Hubert de Burgh, in 1201. Over the next few decades, it passed back and forth between several owners, as Hubert, the rival de Braose family, and the Crown took control of the property. During this period, White Castle was substantially rebuilt, with stone curtain walls, mural towers and gatehouses, forming what the historian Paul Remfry considers to be "a masterpiece of military engineering". In 1267 it was granted to Edmund, the Earl of Lancaster, and remained in the hands of the earldom, and later duchy, of Lancaster until 1825. Edward I's conquest of Wales in 1282 removed much of White Castle's military utility, and by the 16th century it had fallen into disuse and ruin. The castle was placed into the care of the state in 1922, and is now managed by Cadw, the Welsh heritage agency.

Cross Ash is a village in Monmouthshire, south east Wales. It is located on the B4521 road between Abergavenny and Skenfrith, some six miles north east of Abergavenny.

Graig Syfyrddin or just The Graig, is a 423m high hill near Grosmont in north-eastern Monmouthshire, Wales. The summit knoll is known as Edmund's Tump. Lower Celliau, (aka Lower Kathlea/Lower Celli), Llangattock Lingoed, Monmouthshire is a farmhouse dating from the 16th century. It is a Grade II* listed building. The adjacent barn and shelter, and cowhouse and stable have their own Grade II listings.

The Old Cottage, in the hamlet of Treadam, some 2km north-west of Llantilio Crossenny, Monmouthshire, is a country house dating from c.1600. The house is Grade II* listed.

Hen Gwrt, (English:Old Court), Llantilio Crossenny, Monmouthshire is the site of a thirteenth century manor house and a sixteenth century hunting lodge. Originally constructed for the Bishops of Llandaff, it subsequently came into the possession of the Herberts of Raglan Castle. The bishops constructed a substantial manor house on the site in the thirteenth century, which was moated in the fourteenth. The building was then adapted by the Herberts to create a lodge within their extensive hunting grounds. The lodge continued in use until the slighting of Raglan Castle in the English Civil War. Historical accounts of Monmouthshire traditionally identify Hen Gwrt as the home of Dafydd Gam, the legendary opponent of Owain Glyndŵr and supporter of Henry V, but there is no evidence for this. Work at the site in the early nineteenth showed evidence of the footings of the earlier buildings, which were mapped, but by the time of subsequent archaeological investigations in the twentieth century, all of the stone on the site had been removed for road metalling. Today, no trace of either the manor or the lodge remains, and the moated site is in the care of CADW.
