Sheremetyevsky (Russian: Шереметьевский), also known as Sheremetyevo (Russian: Шереметьево), Sheremetyevka (Russian: Шереметьевка) is currently (since 2003) a microdistrict of the city of Dolgoprudny in the Moscow Oblast, located near the Sheremetyevskaya railway station of the Savyolovsky line of the Moscow Railway. Sheremetyevo International Airport takes its name from this village, although the village is located several kilometers to the east of the airport.

Lobnya is a terminus railway station for Line D1 of the Moscow Central Diameters in Moscow Oblast and intermediate for other trains towards Dmitrov and other cities. It was opened in 1901 and will be rebuilt in 2021 - 2024.

The town's name is derived from Russian "Долгий пруд" (dolgy prud, lit. "long pond")—a long and narrow pond situated in the northeastern part of the town. The town's name is sometimes colloquially shortened as Dolgopa. Population: 120,907 (2021 Census); 90,956 (2010 Census); 68,792 (2002 Census); 70,751 (1989 Census).

Dolgoprudnaya is a railway station of Line D1 of the Moscow Central Diameters in Dolgoprudny, Moscow Oblast. It was opened in 1914 and rebuilt in 2020.

Khimki Forest (Russian: Химкинский лес, romanized: Khimkinskiy les) is a forest near the Russian city of Moscow covering about 1000 hectares. It is part of the so-called "Green Belt" around Moscow. An $8 billion high speed road, the Moscow–Saint Petersburg motorway (M11), has been proposed to go through the forest to connect Moscow and Saint Petersburg. For this purpose, part of the forest would have been cut down. The construction triggered large protests, which turned violent in July 2010. On 26 August 2010, President Dmitry Medvedev ordered the construction to be halted.

Aeroport Sheremetyevo is a railway station in Sheremetyevo Airport which is served by Aeroexpress. It was opened on 10 June 2008.

Sheremetyevo Alexander S. Pushkin International Airport (Russian: Международный аэропорт Шереметьево имени А. С. Пушкина, tr. Mezhdunarodny aeroport Sheremetyevo imeni A. S. Pushkina, IPA: [ʂɨrʲɪˈmʲetʲjɪvə]) (IATA: SVO, ICAO: UUEE) is one of four international airports that serve the city of Moscow. It is the busiest airport in Russia, as well as the 13th-busiest airport in Europe. Originally built as a military airbase, Sheremetyevo was converted into a civilian airport in 1959. The airport was originally named after a nearby village, and a 2019 contest extended the name to include the name of the Russian poet Alexander Pushkin.The airport comprises six terminals: four international terminals (one under construction), one domestic terminal, and one private aviation terminal. It is located 29 km (18 mi) northwest of central Moscow, between towns of Lobnya and Khimki in Moscow Oblast.In 2017, the airport handled about 40.1 million passengers and 308,090 aircraft movements. During 2018, the airport reported a 14.3% increase in passengers for a total of 45.8 million. There was also a 15.9% increase in aircraft traffic year over year. Sheremetyevo serves as the main hub for Russian flag carrier Aeroflot and its branch Rossiya Airlines; Nordwind Airlines and its branch Pegas Fly; and Ural Airlines.

Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology (MIPT; Russian: Московский Физико-Технический институт, also known as PhysTech), is a public research university located in Moscow Oblast, Russia. It prepares specialists in theoretical and applied physics, applied mathematics and related disciplines. The main MIPT campus is located in Dolgoprudny, a northern suburb of Moscow. However the Aeromechanics Department is based in Zhukovsky, a suburb south-east of Moscow. In international rankings, the university was ranked 44th by The Three University Missions Ranking in 2022, In 2020 and 2021, Times Higher Education ranked MIPT #201 in the world, in 2022 QS World University Ratings ranked it #290 in the world, in 2022 U.S. News & World Report ranked it #475 in the world, and in 2022 Academic Ranking of World Universities ranked it #501 in the world. As Phystech's founder, Pyotr Kapitsa, designed the institute inspired by and in accordance with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology model, Phystech is commonly hailed as the "MIT of Russia" and is considered to be the leading specialized technical institution of higher education in the former Soviet Union.

Chashnikovo (Russian: Чашниково) is a rural locality (a village) located in the southeast of the Solnechnogorski District, in the central part of the Moscow Oblast, about 34 km southeast of the city of Solnechnogorsk, 12 km from the Moscow Ring Road, just north of Sheremetyevo Airport on the left bank of the Meshcherikha River, which flows into the Klyazma. There are 5 streets in the village - Novaya, Promyshlennaya, Tsentralnaya, Shkolnaya and Kolesny proezd, 3 microdistricts, a garden partnership, a dacha partnership and a dacha cooperative are registered. The nearest settlements are the villages of Isakovo, Nosovo and Perepechino. It is connected by direct bus service to Sheremetyevo Airport, as well as to the towns of Lobnya, Khimki and Dolgoprudny (routes No. 21, 41, 48 and 38). The Chashnikovo estate is an architectural monument of federal significance. It includes a house for servants, a stable, a fence, a park and an outbuilding (a parochial school).

Novodachnaya is a railway station of Line D1 of the Moscow Central Diameters in Dolgoprudny, Moscow Oblast. It was opened in 1964 and rebuilt in 2020.

Aeroflot Flight 1492 was a scheduled domestic passenger flight operated by Aeroflot from Moscow–Sheremetyevo to Murmansk, Russia. On 5 May 2019, the Sukhoi Superjet 100 aircraft operating the flight was climbing out when it was struck by lightning. The aircraft suffered an electrical failure and returned to Sheremetyevo for an emergency landing. It bounced on landing and touched down hard, causing the landing gear to collapse, fuel to spill out of the wings, and a fire to erupt. The fire engulfed the rear of the aircraft, killing 41 of the 78 occupants.
