Old Town Irvine was designated a California Historic Landmark (No.1004) on November 11, 1991. Old Town Irvine is in the city of Irvine, California in Orange County A Historic marker is at 14980 Sand Canyon Avenue, Irvine. The marker is to remember the founding the City of Town Irvine in 1887. The town of Irvine started as a train stop for the Santa Fe Railroad in 1889, where barley warehouse was built. At the time of founding the town was called Myford, California. Myford was the youngest son of James H. Irvine, who the town would be renamed after. James Irvine called the new town Myford, as at the time there was a City of Irvine in Calaveras County in Northern California. Myford was renamed Irvine in 1914, as the Northern California town changed its name to Carson Hill. The 125,000-acre Irvine Ranch was the largest employer in the town for years, a very busy place during harvest time. The town had a school, general store, blacksmith shop, diner, and a hotel for seasonal workers, all around Central Avenue and the train station. The Ranch lost its place as the center of town in the 1960s, with the housing boom and a new town center was built up. Irvine incorporated as a city in 1971. The old portions of Irvine, renamed East Irvine, had become run down. Much of the old Ranch in East Irvine was abandoned or taken down. Central Avenue was renamed Sand Canyon Ave, which became a main highway. The 1980 plan to make Sand Canyon Ave wider threaten some of the Historic Landmarks in Irvine. A Historic Preservation Committee was formed and the town worked to save Old Town Irvine. The City of Irvine working with the Sand Canyon Historical Partners and the Irvine Historical Society, they came up with a plan to reuse some of the old buildings.

Irvine Bean and Growers Association Building, sometimes referred to as the Sack Storage Warehouse or the Bean Warehouse Building, at 14952 Sand Canyon Ave. in Irvine, California, was built in 1895. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1986. It was used as a storage facility for trains on the tracks directly to the west of the building. It could up to 200,000 sacks of 100 pounds each holding lima, garbanzo, black-eyed beans, barley, or oats. The building measures 450 feet long and 40 feet wide. Inside the warehouse was two fumigation rooms which could hold up to 500 sacks which took a full day to fumigate. Today, it is split into a multi-use development. With the northern half being used as a hotel and the southern half for office space.

Great Park Ice & FivePoint Arena is a 2,500 seat (FivePoint Arena) 4 rink (3 NHL and 1 Olympic) ice hockey facility in Irvine, California. It serves as the practice facility of the Anaheim Ducks, after leaving Anaheim Ice. The facility includes a team store, restaurant (Between the Rinks), pro shop, arcade, and other amenities. As one of The Rinks facilities, Great Park Ice offers youth and adult hockey, curling, ice skating lessons, figure skating, and public skating hours. The complex is also surrounded by Orange County Great Park which has other sports facilities. On March 14, 2020, all Ice Management LLC. facilities, including the Great Park Ice & FivePoint Arena, suspended all operations due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Despite later resuming operations, Anaheim Ice facilities agreed to comply with ongoing California state COVID-19 guidelines in August 2020. As part of the COVID response, the facility has been designated as the temporary home facility for the Ducks' AHL affiliate, San Diego Gulls, for the 2020–21 season instead of their normal home area Pechanga Arena.

Orange County International Raceway was a combined 1⁄4-mile US dragstrip and 2-mile road course, plus a motocross track, located in Irvine, California adjacent to the Interstate 5 (I-5) Santa Ana Freeway. Under a lease agreement with the Irvine Company, OCIR – as it was known in racing circles – was in operation from August 5, 1967 until its closure on October 30, 1983. The track was so named because its founders envisioned hosting sports car, motorcycle, midget, and stock car races in addition to National Hot Rod Association (NHRA) sanctioned drag racing events. Known as 'The Supertrack', OCIR was designed to be the most modern of dragstrip facilities in the late 1960s, offering spectator comforts and conveniences never before available at a drag race facility in Southern California. The track construction included the extensive use of landscaping, permanent restrooms and concession stands, reserved seats with backs, drinking fountains installed throughout, the sport's first electric scoreboard and a 40-foot-high, four-story, glass-enclosed control tower and administration building. The well-known Bob Bondurant School of High Performance Driving was founded at the track in 1968.

Championship Soccer Stadium is a 2,500 seat soccer-specific stadium at the Orange County Great Park in Irvine, California. The stadium serves as the permanent home of Orange County SC of the second tier USL Championship league after the club began its existence relocating to various stadiums within the county. The newly founded California United Strikers FC of the third tier National Independent Soccer Association also moved into the venue in 2019, making it a shared stadium. Championship Soccer Stadium is publicly owned by the city of Irvine and is operated by the Great Park. The stadium features locker rooms, concession stands, a specialized fan experience area, and a box office. The facility has been credited with aiding and accelerating Orange County SC's youth development.Between 2018 and 2019, Orange County FC of the National Premier Soccer League (no relation to the USL side) played some of their home matches at Championship Stadium.

Irvine Valley College (also known as IVC or Irvine Valley) is a public community college in Irvine, California. It is part of the California Community Colleges System. The college inherited its name from the Irvine family and the Irvine Company that were key in the development of the city of Irvine. Opened in 1979 as Saddleback College North Campus, Irvine Valley College received its current name and independent status in July 1985. In July 1988, the college received its first accreditation as a separate institution by the Accrediting Commission for Community and Junior Colleges (then the Western Association of Schools and Colleges). The school provides associate of art and science degrees, certificates of achievement, and lower-division transferable courses to other colleges and universities. It enrolls nearly 13,000 students.

The Islamic Center of Irvine (ICOI) is a mosque and Islamic community center founded by the local Muslim community in the city of Irvine, California on August 28, 2004. It is one of the largest Muslim congregations in California, with an estimated 5,000 worshipers attending weekly programs, and offers a variety of services from youth programs (including an annual summer camp for children) to senior workshops and interfaith sports activities. The Islamic Center of Irvine is partnered with the Islamic Society of Orange County in nearby Garden Grove, the Orange County Islamic Foundation in Mission Viejo, and the Islamic Institute of Orange County in Anaheim. The center has also teamed up with various churches and recently signed a friendship pact and held an event with Saddleback Church, one of the largest churches in the country.

Agua Chinon Creek or Agua Chinon Wash is an urban stream in the city of Irvine, Orange County, California. The creek flows southwest from its headwaters in the foothills of the Santa Ana Mountains for about 8 miles (13 km) to join San Diego Creek near the Verizon Amphitheatre. The creek drains a total watershed area of 7,049 acres (2,853 ha).The headwaters of the creek consist of approximately 1,200 acres (490 ha) of undeveloped canyonlands in the Limestone Canyon Nature Preserve. The area includes the badlands known as The Sinks, which are nicknamed "the Grand Canyon of Orange County" due to its sheer cliffs. At the bottom of the canyons Agua Chinon Creek flows under State Route 241 and is impounded by the Agua Chinon Debris Dam, which provides flood control to the valley below. Completed in 1998, the dam has a capacity of 256 acre-feet (316,000 m3) of water.The middle section of Agua Chinon Creek flows through a culvert underneath the former El Toro Marine Corps Air Station. The redevelopment of the air base as Orange County Great Park includes plans to daylight the creek and restore streambank habitat. This work is proposed to create a wildlife corridor between the Cleveland National Forest and the Laguna Coast wilderness area (Crystal Cove State Park).Below the Air Base/Great Park the creek continues in a buried channel under the BNSF Railway tracks, Interstate 5 and the Irvine Spectrum Center, and is joined from the left by its main tributary, Borrego Canyon Wash. It emerges as an open channel just a few hundred feet before its confluence with San Diego Creek. The confluence is situated just north of the Interstate 405 near the 405/133 interchange.

Woodbury is a neighborhood of Irvine, California, located from Irvine Boulevard to Trabuco Road, between Jeffrey Road and Sand Canyon Avenue. Despite the similar name, Woodbury and Woodbury East are separate neighborhoods and maintain separate HOAs and amenities. For non-Woodbury residents, Woodbury has the Woodbury Community Park, a public access park. Within that park are two baseball diamonds, two basketball courts, a soccer field, a community center building, and a 3,000 sq ft (280 m2) Tot-Lot. Woodbury Community Park is part of The Commons. In the heart of Woodbury is The Commons, a 30 Acre social gathering spot, with a community park, an elementary school, and a 9-acre (36,000 m2) private recreational facility, with four tennis courts, a basketball court, a beach volleyball court, three swimming pools, a water garden, and a great lawn. The elementary school located within The Commons is Woodbury Elementary School. All residents of Woodbury and Woodbury East are served by Woodbury Elementary School. Woodbury Elementary School is served by the Irvine Unified School District. Within the community, there are eight neighborhood parks and five neighborhood gardens. Parks feature swimming pools, tot-lots, and basketball courts, and they are scattered throughout the community. Woodbury also has a shopping center attached to the community, Woodbury Town Center. It features a Ralphs supermarket, Trader Joe's, Home Depot, HomeGoods, Michaels and Walgreens Pharmacy. It also has a variety of eateries, such as Starbucks, Chipotle, Subway, Carl's Jr., Chick-fil-A, Panera Bread, Niko Niko Sushi and The Counter. In addition, there is a Chevron gas station, LA Fitness, AT&T Mobility, Cox Communications Store, Orange County's Credit Union, Bank of America, Chase, Wells Fargo, Elite Fitness Tae Kwon Do, and Great Foundations Montessori.
