Lake Delton (Wisconsin)

Noah's Ark Family Park Inc. is the largest outdoor water park in the United States. It features 51 water slides and dozens of various attractions. The park is located in the village of Lake Delton, Wisconsin.

Lake Delton is a village in Sauk County, Wisconsin, United States. The population was 3,501 at the 2020 census. Located on the Wisconsin River and Lake Delton reservoir, the village forms a resort area and tourism destination along with nearby Wisconsin Dells. Lake Delton is included in the Baraboo micropolitan area about 40 miles (64 km) northwest of the state capital, Madison.

The Atlantis Hotel and Waterpark is a resort hotel with an indoor water park located in Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin. It has three waterpark areas: two indoor and one outdoor. Admission to nearby Noah's Ark, the largest outdoor water park in the United States, is included with booking. The hotel is owned by Cornerstone Hotel Management.

The Wonder Spot was a tourist attraction located off US Route 12 in Lake Delton, Wisconsin from 1949 to 2006. A popular side trip for visitors to nearby Wisconsin Dells, the Wonder Spot was advertised as a place "where the laws of natural gravity seem to be repealed." Visitors walked down a ravine into a cabin, where seemingly no one could stand up straight, water flowed backwards, and chairs could be balanced on two legs. Guides attributed the effects to igneous rock formations, but in truth, the cabin was built perpendicular to a hillside, and the purported gravitational anomalies were merely optical illusions. Louis Dauterman of Fond du Lac, Wisconsin opened the Wonder Spot in 1952, and Bill Carney purchased it in 1988. According to Carney, as many as 50,000 visitors came to the site each year during the mid-1990s. However, when more sophisticated theme parks and water parks in the area began threatening his business, Carney decided to sell the site to the village of Lake Delton in 2006 for $300,000. The village planned to build a road near the ravine. At the time of its closing, the Wonder Spot was the oldest permitted attraction in the Wisconsin Dells region. A few items from the Wonder Spot, such as a chair and a can used for pouring water, were donated to the Wisconsin Historical Society.

Pegasus is the name of a wooden roller coaster located at Mt. Olympus Water & Theme Park in Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin. The coaster was built by Custom Coasters International, and its trains were built by the Philadelphia Toboggan Company. Pegasus opened in 1996, one year after Cyclops, another Custom Coasters International project at Mt. Olympus.

Mt. Olympus Water and Theme Park Resort is a theme park and water park resort complex in Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin. The resort is themed after Ancient Greece, particularly its mythology and gods, and is named after the mountain in Greece where those gods were said to live. Mt. Olympus features an indoor and outdoor water park (home to America's first rotating waterslide, first wooden coaster with an inversion, and America's tallest waterslide) and amusement park rides, and the complex includes dozens of mom-and-pop motel buildings that were acquired by the resort in addition to its purpose-built hotel (Hotel Rome).

Marshall Memorial Hall is a historic building at 30 Wisconsin Dells Parkway South in Lake Delton, Wisconsin. The town of Delton had the building constructed in 1928 to serve as a government office building, community center, and town library. Roujet D. Marshall, an early Delton resident and justice on the Wisconsin Supreme Court, bequeathed the money for the building, and it was named in his honor. Architect Edward Tough of Madison designed the Georgian Revival building. The one-story brick building's design includes a rounded entrance portico supported by Tuscan columns, arched double-hung windows, and a hip roof with an octagonal lantern and two brick chimneys. The building continues to house town offices and is one of the few surviving buildings in Lake Delton that predates the commercial development of the Wisconsin Dells area as a major tourist destination. The building was added to the National Register of Historic Places on April 1, 1993.

Cyclops is a wooden roller coaster located at Mt. Olympus Water & Theme Park in Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin. The ride starts with a left hand 180 degree dive off the lift, traverses three short hills, and a right-handed drop in front of the station (this is the 75 foot largest drop of the ride) and then climbs back up to the brakes. It is a short terrain roller coaster at only 1,750 feet. Cyclops first opened in 1995 and was built by Custom Coasters International and is intertwined with Zeus's structure. Cyclops was designed by Dennis McNulty and Larry Bill. The ride operates with a single five car train, built by the Philadelphia Toboggan Company. Like other coasters at Mount Olympus, Cyclops is very rough. The last car of the train was notable among coaster enthusiasts for the intense ejector "air-time" experienced during the ride, especially on the second hill beside the station. Because of this, only riders 18 and older were allowed in the last two rows. However, in 2014, the second hill was re-profiled, and now anyone over the height of 48 inches can ride in last two rows.

Zeus is a wooden roller coaster located at Mt. Olympus Water & Theme Park in Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin. The ride was built by Custom Coasters International and opened in 1997. The ride operates with a single train built by the Philadelphia Toboggan Company that has five cars each with four seats.

Hades 360 is a hybrid roller coaster at Mt. Olympus Water & Theme Park in Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin. When it opened in 2005, the coaster was known as Hades; it was renamed in 2013 when the 360 degree roll was installed. It is the largest roller coaster in the park. Hades 360 is a rarity among wooden roller coasters due to its 360 degree roll, 110-degree over banked turn, and steep 65-degree drop as well as its 90-degree banked turn, as drops and angles this steep are generally not included on wooden roller coasters due to structural limitations. The ride was designed by The Gravity Group.

Delton, originally called New Buffalo, is a town in Sauk County, Wisconsin, United States. The population was 2,024 at the 2000 census.

Wisconsin Dells station is an Amtrak intercity train station in Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin. It is served by the daily round trips of the Borealis and Empire Builder. Despite the antiquated appearance, the station was built in 1989. The station is a replica of a former Chicago, Milwaukee, St. Paul and Pacific Railroad (Milwaukee Road) depot, and is in close proximity to a tourist railroad called the Riverside and Great Northern Railway. The previous station on this site was damaged by a Soo Line Railroad freight train derailing in 1982 (although the depot belonged to the Milwaukee Road then; the Soo Line did not merge with the Milwaukee until 1986.) A nonprofit group was created in the town in order to raise funds for the current station building. Borealis service began on May 21, 2024. Although there is a caretaker who opens and closes the station around train times, there are no Amtrak employees to sell tickets or handle baggage at this station. In 2021, Amtrak proposed additional rail connections to Madison and Eau Claire by 2035.
