Loch Fyne (Scottish Gaelic: Loch Fìne, pronounced [l̪ˠɔx ˈfiːnə]; meaning "Loch of the Vine/Wine"), is a sea loch off the Firth of Clyde and forms part of the coast of the Cowal peninsula. Located on the west coast of Argyll and Bute, Scotland. It extends 65 kilometres (40 mi) inland from the Sound of Bute, making it the longest of the sea lochs in Scotland. It is connected to the Sound of Jura by the Crinan Canal. Although there is no evidence that grapes have grown there, the title is probably honorific, indicating that the river, Abhainn Fìne (river Fyne), was a well-respected river. In the north the terrain is mountainous, with the Arrochar Alps, Beinn Bhuidhe, Glen Shira, Glen Fyne, Glen Croe, Arrochar, Tyndrum and Loch Lomond nearby. It is overlooked by the Tinkers' Heart, an old travellers' monument. It was a place for weddings to traditionally take place.

Strachur Bay is a coastal embayment, on a 114° orientation, on the eastern coast of the longest sea loch in Scotland, Loch Fyne located in Argyll and Bute, on the west coast of Scotland. Strachur Bay provides good anchorage, for small vessels, when the wind is from the northeast and southeast.

The Duke's Tower, also known as Inveraray Bell Tower, is the detached bell tower of All Saints' Church, Inveraray, Argyll and Bute, Scotland. Standing 126 feet (38 m) high on the shores of Loch Fyne, it is a landmark for miles and amongst the most notable bell towers in the United Kingdom. The tower was built as a memorial to members of the Clan Campbell who died in the First World War. It is Category A listed by Historic Environment Scotland, the highest possible rating.A popular tourist attraction, the tower is open to visitors during the summer months who come to admire the views or watch the famous bells being rung by the many change ringers who come from across the country to ring them. The bells are considered to be "the finest peal in Scotland".

Inveraray ( or ; Scottish Gaelic: Inbhir Aora pronounced [iɲɪɾʲˈɯːɾə] meaning "mouth of the Aray") is a town in Argyll and Bute, Scotland. It is on the western shore of Loch Fyne, near its head, and on the A83 road. It is a former royal burgh, the traditional county town of Argyll, and ancestral seat to the Duke of Argyll. During the Second World War the Combined Operations Training Centre, located close to the town, was an important military facility.

Inveraray Jail is a former prison and courthouse in Church Square, Inveraray, Argyll and Bute, Scotland. It was built in 1820 and is a Category A listed building. The prison closed in 1889 but the building remained in use as a courthouse until the mid-twentieth century, in which time it was also used for some meetings of Argyll County Council. Since 1989 it has been a museum.

Strachur House is a Category B listed building in Strachur, Argyll and Bute, Scotland. It dates from around 1770, and is a three-storey building, built mostly of coursed rubble.The building's wings were added around 1815.

The Douglas Water (Scottish Gaelic: Dùghlas) is a river in Argyll in the southwest Scottish Highlands. It emerges from the northeastern end of the diminutive Loch Dubh-ghlas (56.2019°N 5.2134°W / 56.2019; -5.2134 (Douglas Water, source)) and flows northeastwards through Coire Dubh-ghlas, before turning east then southeast amongst extensive conifer plantations to the bridge which carries the A83 road over it. It then turns east at this point and flows into the tidal Loch Fyne (56.1963°N 5.1086°W / 56.1963; -5.1086 (Douglas Water, mouth)).

Inveraray Castle (pronounced invə-REHRUH or invə-REHREH; Scottish Gaelic Caisteal Inbhir Aora [ˈkʰaʃtʲəl̪ˠ iɲɪɾʲˈɯːɾə]) is a country house near Inveraray in the county of Argyll, in western Scotland, on the shore of Loch Fyne, Scotland's longest sea loch. It is one of the earliest examples of Gothic Revival architecture. It has been the seat of the Dukes of Argyll, chiefs of Clan Campbell, since the 18th century.

Strachur (Scottish Gaelic: Srath Chura) and Strathlachlan (Scottish Gaelic: Srath Lachlainn) are united parishes located on the Cowal peninsula, in Argyll and Bute, Scotland. Strachur is a small village on the eastern coast of Loch Fyne.

Auchindrain (Scottish Gaelic: Achadh an Droighinn: 'thorn field') lies on the A83, 6 miles (10 km) south of Inveraray in Argyll and Bute, Scotland. It is the only township to survive substantially unaltered from amongst the many hundreds that existed across the Scottish Highlands before the Highland Clearances of the late 18th and 19th centuries. The major feature of the museum is the 22 buildings and building remains of the township. Twelve of these buildings are mainly complete, with the remains of the other 10 either needing or undergoing restoration work. Much of this work is carried out by volunteers and enthusiasts like the West of Scotland Dry Stone Walling Association.Also within the 22 acres (9 ha) of museum grounds are other man-made structures in various condition of repair, including stone dykes, stackyards, stack bases, kailyards, middens, pathways, roads, a corn kiln and evidence of run rig farming methods.The site is open to the public as the Auchindrain Township Open Air Museum between April and September each year.

St Catherines; (Scottish Gaelic: Cill Chaitrìona) is a village, on the Cowal peninsula in Argyll and Bute, Scottish Highlands. It is located on the banks of Loch Fyne opposite Inveraray and is served by the A815 road. The old Ferry Inn, in St. Catherines is on the buildings at risk register of Scotland.The remains of St Catherine's Chapel and Burial Ground. Now only foundations remain of the chapel.

Furnace (Scottish Gaelic: An Fhùirneis) (formerly Inverleacainn (Scottish Gaelic: Inbhir Leacainn)) is a village in Argyll and Bute, on the west coast of Scotland, on the north shore of Loch Fyne, the longest sea loch in the United Kingdom. Furnace is around eight miles southwest of Inveraray on the A83 road. It is unusual for a West Highland village in having an industrial past in addition to the usual focus on agriculture and fishing. Industrial activity was led by three main businesses: the iron furnace, the powdermills and the quarry.
