Village Green is an urban park in Bar Harbor, Maine, United States. Located centrally in the town, compared to the coastal Agamont Park about 0.18 miles (0.29 km) to the north, Firefly Lane bounds it to the north, Main Street to the east, Mount Desert Street (Maine State Route 3) to the south and Kennebec Street to the west. (Main Street is also Route 3 up until it reaches the park from the south. It then turns onto Mount Desert Street.) The park has a free public Wi-Fi network.The town's fire and police departments are located on Firefly Lane, across from the Green.Although the park is not fenced, its six paved entrances are at Main Street and Mount Desert Street, Mount Desert Street and Kennebec Street, Kennebec Street, two on Firefly Lane, and one at Main Street and Firefly Lane. The bisecting paths encourage pedestrians to pass through the park, instead of walk around it.A granite bench, in memory of John Whittington Roberts (1870–1904), is in the middle of the Main Street side, beside the original 1896 cast-iron street clock (moved to this location in 1905), while a dog fountain is beside the Main and Mount Desert entrance. A memorial also stands on its Mount Desert side, just beyond the fountain. A bandstand stands near the park's northern (Firefly Lane) side. A 17th-century tiered Italian fountain with 21 spigots, donated by John Callendar Livingston in 1909, is in the park's southwestern corner. It was restored in 1992 by sculptor Clark Fitz-Gerald after not being functional for thirty years.Bar Harbor's Island Explorer buses leave and drop off passengers on the park's western edge, at Kennebec Street.

The Sproul's Cafe building is a historic commercial building at 128 Main Street in Bar Harbor, Maine. The 2-1/2 story Second Empire building was built in 1880, and was home until 1903 of a nationally recognized gathering place for Bar Harbor's summer residents. The building is a rare local commercial survivor of Bar Harbor's heyday as a summer resort community. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982. Its present retail tenant is a tourist-oriented shop.

The Abbe Museum is a museum with two locations in Bar Harbor, Maine, on Mount Desert Island. The museum is dedicated to exploring the history and culture of Maine's Native people, the Wabanaki. It has one location at 26 Mount Desert Street in the center of Bar Harbor, and a second location at Sieur de Monts in Acadia National Park. The Sieur de Monts building is an architecturally distinctive structure, listed on the National Register of Historic Places as one of the state's first purpose-built museum buildings, and as a rare example in the state of Mediterranean architecture. The museum was formerly led by CEO Cinnamon Catlin-Legutko, who has been an advocate for decolonizing museums. In 2020, the Abbe board of trustees hired Passamaquoddy tribal citizen Chris Newell to lead the museum under the dual role of Executive Director and Sr. Partner to Wabanaki Nations.

Ben & Bill's Chocolate Emporium is a chain of ice cream parlors and confectioners in New England, United States. It was founded, as Trahan's Candies, in 1956 by Paul and Mary Trahan. Their original location was inside Ben Franklin's Store in Vineyard Haven on Martha's Vineyard, Massachusetts. Two years later, the Trahans opened their own retail location in the town. They expanded into the Massachusetts towns of Falmouth and Hyannis, operating during the summer months. They then opened two locations in Florida — in Palm Beach and West Palm Beach — which stayed open during the winter. Each location made its own candy and chocolates.Other expansion locations opened and closed. One, on Main Street in Bar Harbor, Maine, opened in 1980 and is still in operation. After the sale of the Oak Bluffs store on Martha's Vineyard in 2004, it became the company's headquarters.In 1983, the stores introduced ice cream to their products. The Bar Harbor location began with sixteen flavors, adding more as demand dictated. Today, that location has 64 hard-serve ice cream (including a lobster flavor, introduced in 1988) and twelve gelatos. The Bar Harbor location, at least, also offers vegan ice cream. The lobster flavor was created as a joke after a challenge from a customer, but it remained on the menu. It is made by folding chopped, cooked and buttered lobster meat into vanilla ice cream.After 32 years in operation, the business was sold to the Trahans' nephews Ben and William Coggins, who renamed it Ben and Bill's Chocolate Emporium.A location was opened in Northampton, Massachusetts, in 1991, followed three years later by the Oak Bluffs store. The Northampton store closed in 2017.With an estimated 90% of its business sourced from out-of-state visitors, the Bar Harbor location launched a GoFundMe campaign during the COVID-19 pandemic, having seen their 2020 sales drop to 43% of that of the previous year.

Saint Saviour's Episcopal Church and Rectory is a historic church complex at 41 Mt. Desert Street in Bar Harbor, Maine. Built over several construction campaigns between 1877 and 1938, it is fine local example of an American Shingle Style church executed in stone and wood. The complex includes the large cruciform church and a Shingle Style rectory originally built in the 1899 and twice enlarged. The complex was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1995.

The Balance Rock Inn is a boutique hotel in the American town of Bar Harbor, Maine. AAA Four Diamond-rated, the structure was built in 1903 as a home for Scottish railroad tycoon Alexander Maitland. Maitland was Henry Flagler's partner in the Florida East Coast Railway. The hotel is named for Balance Rock, a nearby geological formation that balances on a slender stone fulcrum just off Bar Harbor's Shore Path. The hotel, which was expanded to 27 rooms in 1995, is constructed in the shingle style and was designed by the noted architectural firm Andrews, Jaques & Rantoul. Its restaurant is called The Veranda.Situated at the eastern end of Albert Meadow, a cul-de-sac off Bar Harbor's Main Street, the hotel stands adjacent to Grant Park and overlooks Frenchman Bay and its Porcupine Islands.

Jesup Memorial Library is the public library of Bar Harbor, Maine. It is located in an architecturally distinguished Colonial Revival building at 34 Mount Desert Street in the town's main village. The building was built in 1910-11, donated to the community by Mrs. Morris K. Jesup in memory of her late husband, both of them longtime summer residents of the area, and was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1991 for its architecture.

The Bar Harbor Inn is an inn in Bar Harbor, Maine. It was built in 1887, and has been an inn since 1950. The inn has accommodations in the main building, Oceanfront Lodge and The Newport. It has two restaurants: the Reading Room and (in the high season only) the Terrace Grille. A bar, called the Oasis Lounge, is located off of the Reading Room. There is also a spa on site.The inn closes from December to late March.

Grant Park is an oceanside urban park in Bar Harbor, Maine, United States. It is located about halfway along the town's mile-long Shore Path, overlooking Frenchman Bay. Balance Rock, deposited during an ice age, is located on the shore beside the path.The park is named for Harry Allen Grant Jr. (1836–1898), who built the second summer cottage in Bar Harbor in 1869 (after Alpheus Hardy's cottage the previous year). Grant was an attorney from Tarrytown, New York. He paid $400 for the lot, and had constructed a tennis court. It occupied the grassed area between today's parking lot and the Shore Path. In 1912, fourteen years after Grant's death, his widow, Julia Schoonmaker Grant, sold the property to a syndicate of local men who subsequently sold it to the Town of Bar Harbor. The Bar Harbor Village Improvement Association took the park into its care, and had Grant's house moved to another part of town. The park was renovated in 2017, with the addition of a paved area with benches.

Agamont Park (originally Bar Harbor Park) is an urban park in Bar Harbor, Maine, United States. It is located at the northern end of the town's Main Street, at its intersection with West Street. The park, set upon a hill, affords 180-degree views to the northwest, north, northeast, east and southeast, including that of Mount Desert Narrows, Frenchman Bay and its islands. As such, it is a popular viewing point for tourists.Its entrance from Newport Drive, off Main Street, is marked by a water fountain, designed by Eric Sodderholtz. (Newport Drive is named for Newport House, a hotel which stood just south of the park between 1869 and 1938.)In October 2013, The O'Reilly Factor sent one of its correspondents to Bar Harbor after the town council voted to remove a Wreaths Across America display that had been in the park since July 2011.The park is a recommended viewpoint to watch the Fourth of July fireworks each year.The park has a free Wi-Fi network.Bar Harbor's Shore Path begins beside the park at Ells Pier and runs south along the shore of Frenchman Bay for about 0.7 miles (1.1 km).

The Criterion Theatre is a historic performance space at 35 Cottage Street in downtown Bar Harbor, Maine. Built in 1932 when Bar Harbor's summer scene was at its height, it is one of only two Art Deco theaters in the state of Maine. The theatre has in recent years struggled for financial solvency but was purchased in 2014 by a nonprofit organization. After a major renovation, the theater reopened for business in May 2015. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980.

The U.S. Post Office-Bar Harbor Main is a historic post office building at 55 Cottage Street in Bar Harbor, Maine. This handsome granite Classical Revival building was one of twelve post offices built in 1909, and is reflective of the government's trend at that time to use classical architecture as a way to express democratic ideals and institutions. The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1986.
